Like, they actually seemed to give a damn you were there. Drinks showed up before you finished the first one, nobody disappeared for half an hour like they got kidnapped in the kitchen--just... good service. And I appreciate that. Would I make a special trip to go back? Nah. But if I'm in the area? Absolutely. It's the kind of place where you leave satisfied, you don't feel ripped off, and you're not sitting there an hour later thinking, "What the hell did I just eat?" That's a win in my book.

Despite my sensitive tummy, I probably ate a few more of those than I should have. The brisket chili was good...it was flavorful but not spicy. Brisket was cooked very well. In an area with great food, it's definitely the ambience and wonderfully run restaurant that keeps us coming back. We passed then because of time constraints but nothing was holding us back this time. If you have passed this iconic place in the past and not stopped, you're missing out. This is one of the most disappointing meals I've had recently. They put a tomato paste on it that I almost requested without, but trusted it would be interesting. It literally tasted like cheap canned tomato paste. Gross and certainly doesn't blend well on a gyro. The lamb meat itself had a decent taste, but the way it is served makes it difficult to eat in a pita. Gyros are typically chopped or shaved lamb which makes it easier to eat and helps ensure you're getting more lamb per bite. Served in these strips, it was just falling apart and not blending with the feta. The fries...terrible. Just terrible. $6 to sub truffle fries which seems like too much but I hadn't had them in a long time so had to go for it. Listed in subs it simply says truffle fries, so I didn't know they were going to be covered in liquid cheese. They ARE listed in appetizers with the full description but I didn't look there until after bc I didn't order an appetizer. The cheese was awful, completely overwhelmed the TINY bit of truffle taste, and SO salty! Take a look at the picture and decide for yourself if the gyro and fries is worth $23. I eat a lot of gyros, and this being the most expensive one I've had is the worst. Heads up that they charge a service fee.
