A month later I hadn't heard anything so I stopped by since I was in the area. I asked the status of my contacts. The young lady went to the back and couldn't find any contacts. I assume they never got ordered. I was told 4-6 weeks. A month after my previous visit I stop by again. The young lady looks in the back again. She finds one set of contacts ( I have two different prescriptions, one for each eye). She can't find the other set of contacts and says it'll be 4-6 weeks. A month after my previous visit I stop by again. The young lady goes to the back and can't find any contacts. She says it'll be 4-6 weeks. The whole shelter in home thing happens and I'm still without contacts. I call and I'm told to check in at the end of the month. It is over 4 months (not weeks) by now and still no contacts. I ask if I can get a copy of my prescription so I can try somewhere else to see if I can get some contacts. They say they will send my prescription. A week goes by and I haven't got my prescription. I call again and am told they will email the manager. So I'm not sure if it'll be a few more months before I can even get my prescription. I'm not sure how long the prescription is good for so hopefully whoever I can get if I even get my prescription will honor the prescription. I will keep contacting them to see if I ever get a copy of the prescription I have already paid for. I would definitely not recommend this place. There used to be an older gentleman optometrist and an older lady attendant. I wish they were still there.

They checked the glasses with the machine, and told me it "appeared" to be just fine. I kept telling them I am seeing double! They finally took them back and had them sent back - to realize that there really WAS something very wrong in the production of the glasses. Waited so long, many mistakes made, and of course me... I am so patient and understanding. My advice - please get your business in order.

Currently, I have been a contact lens/eye glass wearer for over 20 years and have had the same insurance (BCBS FEP Blue Vision) since 2013. Since 2013 I have moved to five different states (Iowa, Illinois, West Virginia, Florida and Texas) and have seen several eye doctors within those states using my same blue cross blue shield FEP blue vision. My insurance normally covers all my exams (comprehensive vision and contact lens evaluation and fitting) free of charge without a co-pay. My first visit I was charged a contact lens fitting fee $70 which I thought was odd. When I enquired about it I was told it was due to the contact lenses that I got. Then my husband mentioned he was also assessed the same fee. Given that they took really good care of my husband I didn't think to question or look into it. The second exam came around and I was charged the same fee and I asked more questions about it and they were saying that my insurance will not pay for both the exam and contact lens exam/fitting. Third exam took place on 5/2/2024. Prior to my appointment I took a deep dive into my benefits and saw that it is a covered service. When I arrived I informed the front desk of this and they printed my benefits and they confirmed it showed $0. My vision exam was swift, no issues, and no changes in contact brands. I chose to use my benefits towards my glasses and paid out of pocket for contacts as my insurance will only pay for one or the other when it comes to materials. Yesterday 5/14/24 I received a call stating my glasses were ready for pick and that I owed $70 for the contact lens fitting. I called back and left a voicemail wanting additional justification for the fee. This morning I received a phone call and I explained the above mentioned and that I have never been charged such fees. The conversation ended up going south as Stephanie was cutting me off and said they billed the insurance and contacted them and it's not covered. I then logged in and began investigating all my EOB claims. You will see an older claim ( picture 1) done at another provider showing both contact lens and comprehensive exams and I owed $0.00. Then you will see my claim at NB Eyecare where the contact lens fee was never billed. I then contacted blue cross blue shield and spoke to a claims specialist who also agreed that per my benefits I should not be charged. BCBS then contacted new Braunfels Eyecare and had a three way conversation. Bcbs the informed there billing specialist that I am being charged for services that are 100% covered. The specialist had no clue and was faulting the system and said the box is greyed out. The bcbs representative then told her to contact the provider line for assistance but I should not be having to pay a fee for the covered service. I then went in and picked up my glasses and informed them that my husband and I will no longer be patients due to there unethical billing practices which is unfortunate as both my husband and I really liked the doctors and have always had a positive experience. But we will not be subject ourselves to being taken advantage of financially.

I needed to get the appointment done, so I begrudgingly paid. In March 2024 I was on my insurance website and I noticed an explanation of benefits. The office submitted the visit for approval and was paid by my insurance in January 2024! Instead of refunding the $140 I overpaid, they didn't tell me anything. If I hadn't have come across the EOB I never would have known. I called the office and had someone refund the difference (over 3 months after they received the insurance payment! Not a good look...

I've also needed reading glasses for a few years and Dr.Llambiri offered bi-focal contact lenses. It was quite "eye-opening" (pardon the pun!)! I couldn't stop looking around! My last prescription was too strong and I knew it. Dr Llambiri spent extra time to ensure that I was walking out with great vision and happy! He also recommended a dry eye eval to address my concerns and I'll be returning in one week! Mr Anderson didn't understand what a multi focal contact was. He argued with me and told me I didn't know what I was talking about with how the multi focal lens works and i have been wearing them for two years now. He kept stating I was wrong and I had to be wrong because I didn't know the all the meds I take, didn't remember to bring my glasses and I didn't know the manufacturers name of my gas permeable lens. He challenged me because I challenged his knowledge. He's an old man that won't ever be wrong. The ladies he works with were very nice and polite and you could see they were embarrassed at how I was treated. He actually got on the phone with the contact manufacturer only to find out he was wrong. I got my script and left.
