First time ever that Yelp made me wish there were six stars. I had a bad experience with a different place in Kyle and decided to branch out to San Marcos since it isn't far. I was treated so wonderfully by every single person in the office. The doctor explained so many things to me, answered all my questions, wasn't rushed, reached out and shook my hand when entering and leaving. The front of house staff were so friendly, the person that helped me pick my glasses was so patient and she took so much time explaining how my new progressive glasses would work, the costs. I had a great experience with San Marcos Vision Center. I was having a hard time getting into a place. I had made an appointment at a Kyle location, the lady that answered was semi rude, but I made the appointment anyways as I really needed to get my eyes checked. They cancel the appointment the following day due to a family emergency. I looked around and found San Marcos Vision Center. They got me in the same day. Everyone there was so pleasant to work with. We needed new glasses and wanted a new vision center. My husband stumbled upon San Marcos Vision Center and we really like it. They were able to get us in the next day which was a pleasant surprise. They also are very clear about an extra test that they perform and the charge for that. They are very thorough! The staff are very nice. They explain everything and Dr. Sturm was very easy going and friendly. He knows his stuff and was familiar with my medical condition that effect my eyes. That was really good to know. My husband loves Oakley frames and they do not carry them but he can always order the frames. If you need to get your eyes checked, make an appointment and check them out. read more

Without a doubt the most comfortable place to have your eyes checked or to get eyeglasses. Everyone there is very friendly and knowledgeable in their field. I saw Dr. Emily Sanchez for my eye exam and I don't think you could find a better Optometrist. I'm sure there are some as good as her, but not better. Dr. Sanchez's assistant was also excellent. I recently lost the sight in my right eye to Retina Vein Occlusion. The onset was so sudden, by the time I got an appointment with a retina specialist, the damage was done. Funny thing, when you have two of something, you don't think anything of it, but when you get down to one, that surviving thing becomes extremely important. I needed assurances that my remaining eye was healthy. Dr. Mark Sturm was great. He went above and beyond, running tests and researching the disease. Enough to assure me the chances of it happening in the other eye was slim. He is professional, yet has a fantastic chair-side manner that is both reassuring and pleasant. They keep me up to date from my next annual appointment to letting me know when my eyewear is ready for pick up. I have found Dr. Emily Sanchez to be a very caring professional in providing me with improved vision wear every time including referring me to an ophthalmologist for further examination when needed. The good doctor even recommended a specialized kind of contact lens for me to try on at no cost. They carry some awesome brands of frames too. And because of me recently losing my vision insurance coverage, Dr. Sanchez, even without me asking, approved of a $200.00 plus discount on my recent prescribed eyewear order. I've been looking for frames and just happened upon this place on the way to Jasons Deli. The manager, Zeke, was great. He knows his stuff. I had a prescription from my opthamologist and had asked for an increase in the reading part of my progressives. My doctor just upped it without bothering to explain that if my distance prescription increased (which it had), it would automatically increase the reading portion. This place kept me from making a mistake on a very expensive pair of glasses. I've never seen the doctor but the people are great and they've got a great selection. Prices are fair. The doctor and staff were very helpful and friendly. Dr. Sanchez even caught a mistake that was made on my prescription from a previous optometrist without my asking. I had my suspicions but needed an exam and a professional opinion. I am very happy with my current prescription. I paid out of pocket and was pleased with the price on the glasses too. My prescription is a bit odd because I have nystagmus in both eyes and a slight stigmatism in my left eye. The original frames I chose were a brand new design and there was a problem with the integrity of frames and the lenses. This was an unexpected setback. However, Fernando and Eloy went above and beyond when it came to fixing this problem. I wasn't able to get to the Vision Center until later in the day, and Fernando made a temporary fix on the glasses and helped me to pick out a new frame that he guaranteed would be a good fit with my prescription at no additional charge. I came back when the glasses were ready and Eloy went over questions I had and I could tell he was genuinely concerned with making sure the glasses were to my liking.
