I did not realize State Farm offices were listed on Yelp, so this is long overdue! My entire family and I have had car insurance and home insurance with John Co for more than a decade now. We have been completely happy with State Farm, and as we have grown older, gotten married, and started our own families, we go to John for everything. It came time to look at life insurance, and I was a bit confused regarding term vs. whole life. John explained the differences to me in detail, without making me even more confused. He explains is to me as if i am a friend vs. his customer. We decided on term life insurance for my husband and me, and whole life for our child. We also have earthquake insurance with him. Since the monthly premium is not automatically withdrawn from my account, I am terrible at sending checks and i have been late a few times. Apparently, it shows up in John's system and he always gives me a friendly reminder call where he can take the payment by phone. He is basically our security blanket when it comes to our CA earthquake insurance! When I bought my first ever luxury car at CarMax, CarMax made me add comprehensive collision coverage to my insurance before i left the lot. Now, it was 8:30pm at that time so the odds of me getting an agent were slim to nil. I called his office, thinking it would automatically click over to State Farm's official line. To my surprise, John picked up the call! I believe he had the calls routed to his cell. I mean, talk about amazing customer service. I explained what CarMax requested, and he did it without question, at 8:30pm on a Friday night! What insurance agent will do that for you???? I'm guessing not many. In the first few years of getting car insurance through him, we got a discount for low mileage. Now, part of that discount is apparently to verify mileage every few months. I was getting calls left and right by one of his employees. Mind you, I was in college and just could not be bothered at the time (I know, I was pretty self-important back in the day. Thank goodness I grew out of it!). I finally answered the phone and told the employee that I was so annoyed with the phone calls (it really wasn't that many..) and I would be looking elsewhere for car insurance (I had no intention of doing that, I was just being rude). Well, within minutes I get a call from John, who was away at a conference but heard I was upset about the phone calls. He immediately apologized and explained why State Farm needs the mileage. I sheepishly agreed and reassured him I would not be changing insurance. Again, this happened in the first few years when I was younger and had no idea the world didn't revolve around me. Cut to 2022: my brand new, less-than-a-month-old car was side swiped in the parking lot. I called John and gave him the details. He gave me the options and his recommendations. I thought for sure I would take it to my car dealership since it's a nice car and a regular body shop wouldn't do it justice. Again, he gave me his 2 cents worth and his experience working with dealerships. I decided to trust him and follow his recommendations. Well, I took my car in for an estimate at a State Farm recommended body shop, car rental worked cohesively with the body shop, I dropped my car off, and had it back within 2 days! Not only that, I got reimbursed for my car seats in the car within a day! From my accident to repaired car, it was a week. I cannot say enough great things about John Co at State Farm. He treats me like family. That's all i have to say about that! read more

FAST AND EASY. I've been a loyal State Farm Insurance customer for the past 17 years and I've always enjoyed the personal attention I've received with whatever I needed from adding/changing insurance, transferring car titles from out of state, or any claims that needed to be dealt with. Recently, I moved to Los Angeles from Chicago and had to transfer my insurance and car title. Mr. Co made the process effortless for me. He asked a few questions regarding title and registration of the vehicle, and in a matter of 10 minutes it was all completed. He provided a small checklist of what was needed for my car to be registered here in Los Angeles. Mr. Co would follow throughout the day to check how smoothly the process was going, and by day end I had my new title and registration for my car! My family has been using his office for many years now and we have sent our friends, family and clients to him as well. When we switched our auto insurance we saved money and got better coverage. John Co has been my go to guy for over 10 years and I can't say enough about how pleased I am! First of all, he educated me on how to save money by bundling my cars, house and and even my boat so I could get a discount on my insurance. This is not a branch you want handling your policies. I have been with them for 3 years and until recently they've started over charging me (twice as much) for the same policy that has been in place for the past 3 years, when I called I was told the same story about them not being able to get an answer from their billing department the worst part is that when I did get an answer they told me they do not issue refunds. Then I was told my account would be credited (it never was) an instead they charged me for two month on the following month (ridiculous). The agent I delt with was named Alexander. I would run to another independently owned State Farm office if you really want to be insured with them. read more

You use it when something bad happens right.. well I had an issue and not only with this agency was my problem expidited quickly but the whole company was so nice and helpful. They always answered the phone and if I had to leave a message they called me back wich is huge. If I could give a rating of zero stars I would. State Farm agents here are a fraud. Their sales agent Lewis here called me, I didn't call or inquire, he came to me, and promised me a lower monthly payment than what I already had. He was able to deliver that in the form of a quote. After my initial payment with them, the next billing statement had additional fees, the sales agent added discounts to lower my payment and make the sale, which were later removed from my policy and then I was being charged for back pay, State Farm wanted to charge me for the discounts taken off from when I started my policy. When talking to their sales agent I was up front about my record and my current situation with school and other factors. He promised a lot and he did not hold up, I would call to talk to him to see what was going on and for se reason or another her never got back to me, saying that he was either on lunch or out of the office at any time of the day. So I was forced to speak to their manager Mona and another sales agent, Eric, which all they would do is give me the go around saying they'll get back to me, which they never did so I had to chase them down. This company does not care about their customers, all they care about is signing you up and stealing from you. State Farm tried to make me do back pay for 2 discounts which did not apply to me and the sales rep added anyway and did not hold up. My policy went up $40 a month from the initial quote plus all the fees for back pay. I am disgusted, take my advise and DO NOT do business with them even if the deal sounds very enticing, it is fraud! read more

John Co came highly recommended by my boss and I would highly recommend him to any of my friends and family. I called John late yesterday evening while he was out of the office but was still able to reach him. He said that he was driving to a family gathering but would love to talk with me about what I needed help with. I know family time is important so I got straight to the point with him. At the time, I was only shopping for a homeowners policy but because he was so easy to deal with and seemed so trusting, I gave him all of the details for both my house and cars via email and by 1030am the next day, he and Louise were able to save me $10 a month. Now it doesn't seem like a lot does it. Well it actually is because I was paying 275 a month just for auto insurance on two cars, comp and collision at 25k/50k/25k with a 500 deductible with Esurance and now I pay 265 a month for two cars, comp and collision at 100k/300k/100k with 500 deductible and rental reimbursment and homeowners insurance. Louise also went out of his way to drop the paperwork off at my office in Long Beach. I told him that he didn't have but he did it anyway. I thought that it was a very nice touch! John, who is stuck in court for jury duty, also took time out of his busy day to call me to say thank you. Thank you so much for making it so easy and affordable to switch to State Farm! read more
