This is the second time we've had them trim on our trees and it was an extensive job since our house is on a corner lot (6 total trees)... We've not had our trees trimmed for probably 5 years at least so they really needed it. Their estimate was quite a bit lower than the others we got (over $1k lower in one case). tldr: They didn't properly bid the job, blamed us, and insulted us after the job was done. Put a request in for brush piles to be removed. They never scheduled an appointment to come bid the work, all I got was an emailed bid for a set amount, which noted "pile(s)" in it, which was fine. The amount seemed very reasonable. I scheduled them to come out, and emailed a day before hand to remind them that there was two piles one in the front and one in the back, which they replied to let me know the note was added to the work order. Upon arrival to remove the brush they said it would be more money because they only bid one pile. If they would of set an appointment to walk the job with me it may have led to less confusion, plus the invoice made reference to potential "pile(s)". After a discussion they said they would do the work at the agreed upon price. Once the work was done they let us know of their displeasure dealing with my wife and I, adding that we had put more brush in the piles then when it was bid, as if we were there to pull a fast one over them. That was never the case. I would appreciate if they didn't call my wife a lair. I would have appreciated a proper appointment to bid the job. I would appreciate a discussion if they have any issues. We were willing to discuss the job, they refused, did the job begrudgingly, and insulted us on the way out. read more

We had several 25-30 ft trees, about 8-10 inches in diameter that had been growing between the garage and the fence. The branches were also starting to interfere with overhead internet cables. I submitted an online request for a quote and within 4 hours I had a quote in hand. I also requested quotes from two other local companies. One never showed. The other took almost a week to provide a quote. John ended up matching the third company's quote even though I had expressed a desire to work with John regardless of whether he could match the price or not. The rapid service was worth the slightly higher quote. Within 10 days of my initial outreach, the trees were gone. It actually would have been done sooner, but my own schedule would not allow it. John's crew was courteous and efficient. They took down a small section of my fence to gain easier access to the trees. The crew did a great job of cleaning up the yard and replacing the section of fence that they moved. They informed me that John would be by later in the day with the wood chipper. Around 2 pm, I got a call from John asking if it would be OK for him to swing by the next day because the truck was already full. I said it was fine, and then realized that I had agreed to let him delay finishing the job even though I had already paid in full. I must say, I was a little worried that evening. But I was worried for nothing. By the time I got home from work the next day, everything was gone, just as promised. I highly recommend John Egart Tree Service. A very large tree limb suddenly crashed down through my gate and filling in my front courtyard. We could not exit from the front door. I called John Egart's Tree Service, and he was at my house within 90 minutes, removed the limb AND cleaned up the debris. All was taken care of within 4 hours of the tree falling. Super fast response! He was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tree was a large old maple. He let me know of the extensive damage to it and that it would have to come down. I was in a tight spot with needing to leave town in just a few days. It was a huge job and he understood the worry that I would feel with leaving a massive dead tree looming over my house while I was away. I highly recommend John Egart's Tree Service. I called them on Tuesday to get a quote and they sent someone out the same day. The initial quote was a bit high, but John was happy to negotiate to get a price that worked for both of us. It's now Thursday of the same week and they have come out and completed the work. I appreciate the timely service, and the trimming itself was very high quality and they cleaned up after themselves. First of all let me say that I know nothing about trees. So not only did I get the storm damage taken care of (that was my goal), I also got an education about my trees. I called three tree services, and Egart's was the only one to call me back and actually get me an estimate. Bill called me personally and went over it with me. I appreciated his honesty about a big old tree that he said was just fine, didn't need any service. It did take about 2 weeks from the time I authorized the estimate to the time that I received it, and another couple of weeks to get the work done... Professional, courteous service by both John and his staff. We had to have 11 large trees that were diseased removed from our property as well as a lot of pruning of deadwood. Their estimate was 30% lower than other tree removal companies I had contacted. They arrived on time, they worked non-stop nearly all day, the clean up was tremendous but they left the yard raked and cleaned up. In regards to Keith K, I bid the job, its said pile in front only, I called multiple times left a message and knocked multiple times with no answer so as the bid said front yard pile I bid it, no mention of any other pile, then 3 weeks later we did the job and there were now multiple piles with fresh cut trees that could not have been more than a day old, leaves look as fresh as a garden salad, if they would have been honest, I wouldnt have cared and most likely did the job for the same with no issue, but yes they did try to pull a quick one read more

John is a nice enough guy and did the work in fine fashion. The minute the last tree branch went in the truck I offered to pay him cash. He told me his office would just bill me. His office indeed billed me with the only payment methods being cash or check. Well I am not sending cash via the mail and I have not written a check in over ten years! These are the only payment options he has. Well it took me some time to find an old check book to write him a check. I did send him an a check although it took longer than he liked in which he was un happy about. I get that! What I don't get is that he was more interested in reading me the riot act on the phone about what a jerk I was for not getting him a check sooner even after I had cash in hand the day of the service which he did not accept?
