They didn't knock. They just arrived and carelessly went to work cutting branches directly above my car. I have video and audio evidence of this careless employee. They also refused to move while blocking me in my driveway. I had to call the police because the Arbor scape employee was refusing to move which is illegal. A sudden storm left a huge locust branch spraddled directly over my internet and phone lines, there was no way I could do anything about it without near-certain disaster. Two polite, professional, well-prepared arborists showed up in the morning, thoughtfully listened to what I needed done, and did it all carefully, conscientiously, and well. They carefully removed the huge branch, weighing over two hundred pounds, without the slightest damage to the lines, by putting a rope around the base while they cut it clear, and then gently lowering it to the ground. Then they cut away the damaged wood from my tree. Cleanup was also efficient and thorough, and they managed the tremendously difficult job carefully, quietly, and competently. Fantastic. We got three different bids for pruning two of our main trees at home. Although ArborScape wasn't the least expensive - we've learned that like many other things, you get what you pay for. Everyone involved was professional, and extremely knowledgeable about what (and why) they were doing what they were doing. It was a difficult job. Two trees to remove and one very large cottonwood with a split trunk, one with many branches overhanging a neighbor's property. The trees were also difficult to access. They managed to get everything down without dropping anything in the neighbor's yard and without damaging the fence or nearby small fruit trees. The way they climbed the tree in very precarious locations and use a pulley like system to safely lower branches was quite a sight. Great crew. Price was comparable to other bids. Though because of the access issues one company would only do it with a crane at 3k additional cost. read more

I contacted them a few years ago about our elm tree. They said it would not need pruning for a couple of years. So after this time, I called them, and two of their techinicians came to our house to prune the elm tree. They showed up on time,and they cleaned up afterword. I was very impressed by the work of these 2 technicians. One climbed the tree and pruned. He was dressed for the part, had a helmut as well as a rope securing him to the tree. He did an excellent job pruning the tree. It is more open. He removed infected materisl. He removed the smaller limbs that were near the wires to the house. The team showed pride in their work. I bought my home late last spring, and the neighbor's diseased American Elm was hanging over my garage and all through the power lines... it was a mess, and the limbs were dead. Unfortunately, it couldn't be cut last spring because it was diseased (cutting it while it's not dormant allows the disease to spread). I called several local landscaping companies, and ArborScape was the only one who got back to me. They came out, and left an estimate with several options. When the tree was finally dormant, I had them come out to take care of all the dead limbs - scheduling was easy, they arrived when they said they would, and there were no changes from the price they quoted last year. They also did a fantastic job removing all the branches - honestly, I was surprised considering just how tangled up the branches were with the power lines. It must have taken quite a while (I was at work). They completely cleaned up after themselves, too. I didn't see a single branch on the ground, or on the top of the garage. I came home to a neatly trimmed tree, and an invoice that was for the exact amount quoted. If anything else comes up, I'll definitely be calling Arbor Scape again. Thanks, folks! read more

Summary: scheduled me. took day off, didn't bother to show up, offered another random day. Common trend in yelp reviews that ArborScape shows up whenever they want (and apparently bill you for it), not when you agree on. Unless you want to be at the mercy of "whenever the hell we feel like it," find another company. As many of the negative reviews state, this company lives under the mercy of some ridiculous auto-scheduler system. I called to book an aeration and fertilization, and was told they would try to fit me in Monday. OK, we'll see. No call, assumed it wouldn't happen. Call on Tuesday, saying the system said they would be able to get me on on Wednesday as the last person, as the guys would be on the opposite end of town. I agreed, and took the day off to ensure I would be here as they said they had no idea when it would be. Come Wednesday, I get a call stating "we'll be there tomorrow because the guys are on the opposite end of town and can't make it today". That would have been nice to know before I took the day off to be home for the day I was originally told. In short, ArborScape shows up whenever they feel like it, regardless of what they tell you, and in many cases (according to the several negative yelp reviews) they bill you for it. I would much, much rather have an honest company that actually wants to serve it's customers service my yard needs rather than this company who seems to let an auto-scheduler system dictate their entire world and screw over customers repeatedly. read more

I have used ArborScape on two different occasions. The first time they did a great job of trimming out some big trees in our backyard. Our locust still looks great two years after doing the trimming. They even ground out an annoying stump from an old bush in our side yard. The crew leader was professional and courteous, and they cleaned up the yard well afterwards. Last summer they took out two trees in our front yard and ground out the stumps. Again, they were quick, clean and did a thorough job. And the price was very fair. I've been a loyal customer for years, probably 10+ but no more after this year. I have pre-paid for my services each spring to enjoy a discount on my lawn and tree care. Several years I have had to call after they cashed my check because it somehow becomes disconnected from my account and I get billed again. Annoying, but they worked it out. This year, same story but the first 2 services were also billed to my credit card. When I called to straighten this out, an employee told me I had not pre-paid, despite me telling her the check was cashed. I got the run around for a week before finally reaching someone who listened and fixed it. However, I waited over a month for a refund. Put that all behind us and then they did it again - billed my credit card for a service I had pre-paid. I called, they said oops, we'll see about getting you a refund. I'm disputing the charges with my credit card again rather than wait another month for a refund. Not sure what is going on with this company, but this long time customer is done. My yard looks terrible and I'm done being double billed and told I'm lying about paying. This is NOT how you do customer service! read more

We needed the tree above our house to be trimmed. We were afraid that snow will dump on aforementioned tree and come crashing down on our house. These guys came out and gave us a quote (we got two) and I went with this one for no real reason. Actually, I thought I had read a good review on them via Yelp, but I think I confused the two. Actually, it's apparent that I confused the two. They came out and trimmed around the tree. Nothing was trimmed to the part above our house. Also, they broke a window in our basement. They called my husband to let him know they'd be out the following morning to get a quote on the damage. Fast Forward to the next morning. A guy swings by unannounced (his family's in the truck waiting) and tries to fix our century-old window himself. After taking the pane out and clearly not knowing what he was doing, my husband insisted that he call a professional window installer. "You're going to make me pay a professional to fix the window?" he bleets. "You broke it," my husband retorts. "I didn't break it." "Well, one of your employees did." So we called and got the window repaired. ArborScape paid for it without any hassle. And they came back and trimmed some off the top, though I still think they didn't really do anything. They require a credit card number over the phone to book an appointment ... ? And this is after successfully using them a few times in the past. I have used Arborscape for around 3 or 4 years. I used them once in the first year to do tree trimming and consulting on a big cottonwood. They did what we agreed to and price was a bit higher than average. Since that time I do not use them for tree trimming due to their price. I have had them quote three jobs and all of them came in almost double other trimmers. Their rationale is the common tactic that other trimmers aren't licensed or insured and you get what you paid for. And I agree with that in general, but tree trimming prices are incredibly subjective and all over the place and in my opinion they tend to be higher than others I have priced. So I stopped using them for trimming. Today, I dropped them completely. Apparently I signed up for a deep root fertilization two years ago and whatever I signed gave them the right to send me a physical mailing reminder every year and if I do not call and cancel they can come out, do the service, and I am liable to pay. Not sure what I originally signed to give them that ability, but they do it, and shame on me. So I paid again this year after having not paid attention to all the variety of sales offers from tree companies I get (like them) and am out $82. I paid it and called them and cancelled the service and asked them to remove me from their database. The assumptive sales practice is not the way I want to handle doing business. There are too many things both digitally and other that are marketing to me or trying to put a disguise on the reality of buying their products or service. Companies are hoping that you don't pay attention and don't read the mail or fine print. So not a good review from me for these reasons that are my opinion and what I experienced. read more

Damn, I wish I had checked Yelp before calling this company I coulda gotten a discount! Oh well. I tried calling around to a couple of places before I landed here. You'd think I would check Yelp first, but NO! Anyways, this company was the only one to respond to me in a timely and professional manner. I had a couple of dead trees I needed removed. The customer service was much better than some of the other places who simply said, "Hello?" when I called. I played phone tag with them for a little while trying to get my appointment set up. Actually, the price for doing service with this company was the higher quote I received, but because of their customer service and promptness I decided to go with them over the other one. They had the gas lines marked before coming out, and the "tree people" were nice. I accidentally wrote the check to the wrong company and they came back by and let me know without giving me a hard time about it. They gave us an inflated estimate due to our high demand to remove a large branch that struck our power line and was promised to fulfill service first thing the next morning. They never showed up the morning. I called and asked why no one ever showed up. I also explained that the electrical problem has been resolved. Just wanted to do a quick update. We used Arborscape again this spring to fertilize and do preventive treatment on our remaining ash trees for ash boring beetles. The white ash that they originally treated in 2012 is doing awesome, and seems that it never got attacked by the beetles after the first treatment. It looks great and I've noticed a huge difference in the growth of the tree since they have been fertilizing. On the other purple ash, which had been bored back in 2012 (along with our purple ash that died) it has come back and is now growing vigorously again, and no signs of any further beetle infestation. Looks like we got to this one before it was too late, and the tree is now thriving! We will continue using Arborscape every spring and fall - the results are well worth the cost. Were hired to cut tree from neighboring houses. Pulled up in front of my house with all the equipment witch is fine I have the room. I asked them to move back a little so my mail could be delivered. This was the first interaction I had with the company. The 3 young boys said they handle the mailman when the time comes. (as we all know with current construction mail service is already in a bad mood and won't deliver to a blocked mailbox by hazardous condition) I then said they could use the people who hired them property and that's when one of the boys yelled I will rip your face off. I called the office to see if I could at least get my mailbox opened and let them know about their extremely hostile employee. The office assured me this issue would be taken care of. It has been 2 hours later and nothing has been resolved. As a matter of fact I can hear the boys mocking me outside . They had also had their wood chipper facing incorrectly blowing it into my yard and not into the truck they went back and faced it properly after about 1 hour of doing so.....update: caved in driveway with equipment and claim to have found "pre-existing" broken pipes read more

We contracted with Arborscape for jobs on two different properties. They went to the wrong property on each date, they did one job early, but didn't finish is for two months insisting that it had been finished. They charged me twice for one job and auto-billed it to my credit card. I called them to fix the double charge and they were unable to find any double charge even though I clearly had the charge on my statement. After several calls, they agreed to remove the almost $800 charge, but they did not. I would not have a much to complain about if they had better organization. Their employees are great and appeared to try hard to straighten out various problems. It appears to be some sort of internal problem which creates chaos for customers at many levels of the job. We recently had a bad experience with ArborScape, Inc. and I wanted to share with others who might be seeking an arborist. We got a quote from them and the work was to include removal of one aspen tree including stump grinding and removal, plus trimming of our other 2 aspens. The trees were hanging over into our neighbor's driveway and just needed a good trim. On the day we had the work done (5/12), we came home to the one tree gone but stump still in place, one aspen trimmed almost completely bald on one side (no advance notice had been given that this would be necessary) and nothing else seemed to be trimmed back on the third tree. My husband called them and they said they would come take a look. Later in the week, they came back and ground the stump down, leaving behind a mess of mulch in our rock and about 10 feet of our sprinkler line pulled out. No additional trimming was done to the trees. It appears the third tree has not been touched in the least, yet our quote and price included that. When my husband called again, they said there was no additional trimming that needed to be done and that the trees were in our neighbor's air space and they would need to trim them instead of us! Additionally, they said they don't remove the mulch ("it will wash away over time") and that we would need to deal with putting the sprinkler hose back in place under the rocks ourselves. They did give us a $65 reduction on the original estimate to make up for our troubles. But we still have to do a lot of clean up work, which was not expected. My issues are that they did not clearly explain some of these things. Had I known what to expect, perhaps I wouldn't feel so irritated and inclined to complain. But, to us it feels like they did a half-ass job. We would not recommend this company. read more

I've used Arborscape a couple of times in the past for tree trimming and spraying for beetles. The actual jobs performed were good, and the pricing is fair- I will give them that. However, their customer service and billing are both really frustrating. Warning if you do use them for a service: specify that you do not want them to save your credit card on file and that you only want one-time service-- not ongoing seasonal service. They will automatically enroll you otherwise and save your credit card. I've now twice had to tell them to cancel a service that I didn't schedule and to lose my CC#. It's a shame because the actual services performed are great, but it's extremely frustrating to deal with things on the customer service and billing side of things. read more

Based on positive Yelp reviews, I contacted several tree removal companies; two never called me back, one called and said they were booked for weeks, and Arborscape sent someone out the same day to look at the trees and give me an estimate. We had two Aspens - one very large (and close to the house) and one smaller. The price quoted seemed very reasonable and the removal was scheduled for a week later. I received 2 phone calls to confirm the appt - one the day before, one the day of. The crew arrived on time and completed the task in amazing time - about 30 minutes, start to finish. Cleanup was terrific -- even sweeping the street of any debris. I'll definitely use Arborscape for future tree issues. read more

So why set up an appointment, not return emails or phone calls? I went on the hunt and cannot tell you how pleased I am with Arbor Scape. I love their service. They always call the day before, so my dogs are inside. They don't put down anything that would be harmful to them. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is their billing needs some work. I don't want to give them an open ended credit card to bill. A couple times in the past I have paid the bill, and then received a late notice for that same invoice. That was last year, so I'll stick with them and see what happens this year. The stump removal was a higher bid than other companies but I saved more money on the tree removal that the overall cost was still lower.
