I was referred by our pediatric dentist to Dr. Trotter for braces for my 12 & 10 year old. From the very first visit I was impressed by the high level of customer service & professionalism of their office staff and cannot say enough about their cool "beach" vibe office decor. My kids love going! Especially to the movie room We worked with Libna to discuss how our insurance plan & FSA would cover treatment. She was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. Every visit Libna welcomes us with a smile and tends to us promptly and professionally. I have made emergency requests and visits which she always accommodates. Dr. Trotter has been exceptional and always provides a warm & welcoming smile. He explains in detail what the treatment entails and answered all the questions that both my kids & I had. The day that my oldest daughter got her braces placed, Dr. Trotter called us later in the evening to see how she was feeling and if we had any questions. This was a very kind gesture that shows how much he cares about his patients. My 10 year old hasn't started her treatment yet, but asks me each time we go when it'll be her turn to get braces . Dr Trotter is an amazing orthodontist and I can't recommend him enough. He is so calm and patient and walks my daughter through each step of the process slowly and clearly making her feel completely comfortable. The office is clean and very kid friendly. Recently we had a late night emergency, we were molding a mouthguard and it got stuck to my daughter's braces (we learned our lesson!). He was absolutely wonderful and came to the office on a Sunday night to help us get it off. It was very stuck, and he spent a long time slowly getting it off without damaging her braces. Everything was explained at each visit, so we knew exactly what the procedures were, and what they would accomplish. I hate to write a review because Dr. Trotter is so amazing but his front desk is horrible. They're rude and make you feel like it's your fault. They talk down to you and isn't helpful but dismissive. I'm now writing a review because I've experienced this with them at least 3 times. I don't know how they have a job working front desk with that kind of customer service. Also, there is some lack of communication because my appointments are either automatically canceled or the appointment isn't for the correct service. This is EXTREMELY frustrating because I am super busy and it's very difficult to move things around...but again it's my fault. I'm the one that made the mistake! I'm the one that just made things up because I know how braces work and the procedure and the steps. Maybe not everyone in the office is rude but I have had just one too many occurrences with Dr. Trotter's office and unfortunately now am pushed to write this review. My son is 15 1/2 years old. His braces were recently removed after wearing them for almost 2 1/2 years. Now...his teeth look fantastic!! From the beginning to the end, the treatment and quality of care were exceptional. The office has a "low key" beach vibe which is fun and inviting. The office staff is friendly and ready help when needed. I had an issue with my insurance company not wanting to process claims in a timely fashion, which would have cost me "out of pocket" expenses. Their Insurance Coordinator, Libna Morales "went to bat" for me and spent countless hours on the phone with my insurance company having them pay the claims. I really appreciate Libna's efforts...she is awesome to work with! BTW - She loves cupcakes from Susie Cakes. If you're ever on the beach at the Redondo "Avenues" around lunch time, You might see a group of ladies walking on the bike path in scrubs. Dr.Trotter's is fantastic. Very honest and straightforward and a great environment. We moved to PV a year and a half ago when my son was going to begin phase 2 of ortho. I was hesitant to change my son's ortho but decided the trek to his old ortho was too much. It has been such an easy transition. Dr. Trotter's orthodontics office makes it so much fun to have braces that my kids remind me and hound me hoping that it's almost time to go in and get their braces tightened. Both of my kids have had braces (1 child needed a 2-part procedure) and everything has always been explained well to me, all makes sense and you can tell that Dr. Trotter has a great overall perspective of teeth growth and development in general and pays attention to the patients' individual issues as well. They're very clear as to each step and were willing to try to stagger my kids a bit to limit the amount of overlap with their billing. The staff are all incredibly warm which makes it very welcoming. They have fun seasonal contests in the office - with prizes. The kids receive incentives for doing a good job with their dental hygiene. My kids are greedily collecting the gold coins in anticipation of some great prizes! The office is spectacular - they really thought of everything to make kids comfortable (movie screening room, iPads, games, beautiful scenic painting on the wall) and the parents comfortable (coffee, tons of magazines) with plenty of seating and computers to use if you need to. As an alumni, I love that Dr. Trotter is a USC Orthodontist. However, that alone would not have brought me in. He was a referral from our dentist Dr. Frank (Enriquez) - whom we love as well! I highly recommend Dr. Trotter's practice to any of my friends looking to get braces! read more

The staff answering the phone (LIBNA?) are extremely curt, rude and unprofessional. Dr. Trotter seems to be really great, but I am not sure we want to come here for braces if I have to deal with unpleasant staff. read more

Dr. Trotter has a nice support staff who are very gentle with my teeth as they handled maintenance of my braces. They also wear scented gloves which is a subtle touch that I really like about this place. Maintenance was every 2-3 months and they send reminder texts prior to the visit. read more

Given the choice of several Pediatric Orthodontists in the South Bay, my 8 year old daughter chose Dr. Trotter. She felt comfortable with the office, the staff and the demeanor of the doctor. I have been a patient of Doctor Trotter for over 15 years. He has straightened my teeth, corrected an overbite I didn't even know I had (which was beginning to affect my speech as a kid), and he's continually adjusted and replaced my retainers ever since so that my teeth stay straight and protected during sleep. Even as a kid, it has always been evident that everyone who works in his office truly loves being there. They have a great work environment, which makes for a great patient experience. Not only is Dr. Trotter excellent in his field, but he's also a great guy!--friendly, genuine, easy-going. Plus, visiting his office is ~fun~ which is hard to say about a dental office of any kind. When you walk in, you feel like you're at the beach. There is a private movie room in the waiting area, computers and desks for kids to do their homework, a token system to win great prizes like gift cards to Jamba Juice and the movies...and a massive sunny beach mural to look at while they're working on your teeth. I can't recommend it enough. Everyone in my family goes there, and we recommend Dr. Trotter to everyone we know. My daughter isn't a regular patient of Dr. Trotter. She had an issue with her braces wire poking at her cheek. He was willing to see her, inspected all of her braces and fixed all her poking wires. I've been a patient of Dr. Trotter's for over 15 years, when he did my braces (along with most of my friends' braces too). I'm now in my twenties and recently had to go back in to get new retainers, and the place is just as welcoming as I remembered it, though it has been majorly redone since the days of my braces being tightened. Since the office is a couple blocks from the beach, it makes sense that the waiting room feels more like a summer beach house than a doctor's office, which as a patient you don't get to enjoy for very long because appointments are usually right on time (though it's nice for the family members that have to wait). And for the wait, they have computers, iPads, and a movie room. I remember all the fun contests they had when I was younger, and it was nice to see that they still continue to do them, as well as the little bag of candy they give you on the magical day you get your braces off, which still makes kids so happy because they weren't *supposed* to eat certain candies while their braces were on. I'd recommend Dr. Trotter to anyone looking into orthodontics. read more

I am disappointed with the results after over 3 years of braces and retainer. Teeth seemed to be pretty well aligned when the braces came off. I was a little concerned about the one tooth that drove me to get braces at 50 plus years old, but was told a retainer with springs would make the final adjustments. I think the issues I have now stem largely from what was a very poorly made retainer and taking off the braces too early. Dr Trotter eagerness to remove my braces convinced me--unfortunately. My problems today can be largely attributed to a bottom retainer that has pushed a couple teeth out where they weren't previously a problem and lack of the promised final adjustments. I lost the original top retainer which turned out to be a good thing. The original top retainer caused me significant discomfort even after Dr Trotter ground most of it away. The replacement top retainer fits comfortably after almost no adjustment. There's 2-3 times the material left vs the original. Night and day. I couldn't imagine wearing the original top retainer even just at night for years. It was painful. Funny, I had some dental work done and the dentist asked for my retainer and tried to put it in. He tried to put the old top retainer on the bottom since it was so small and looked like it belonged on the bottom. He was really surprised it was for the top teeth. After a major investment of money, time, and pain, I'm probably going to have to go back for more orthodontic work somewhere else to correct the problems created by Dr Trotter. read more

I went to see Dr. Trotter for a consultation/second opinion because quite honestly, my current orthodontist--let's call him Dr. X, is unable to straighten one slightly crooked tooth! I've had these braces on for 3+ cumulative years and Dr. X simply has no idea how to correct the tooth. I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Trotter. He attentively listened to my concerns, then examined my teeth and immediately noticed the problematic tooth. Dr. Trotter is extremely kind and caring....he contacted my orthodontist and offered his findings and professional advice to Dr. X....to straighten my tooth! I'm grateful to Dr. Trotter, who took time from his busy schedule to diagnose and help me with my dilemma. We love this office, and we love Dr. Trotter! My 10 year old son is the patient...and he is the kind of kid that needs to know what is going to happen...and he gets nervous...very nervous. The staff is great, and is so sweet with him...and Dr. Trotter goes above and beyond the call of duty! He tells him, directly, what's going to happen, speaks to him, in a great calm and soothing voice....he is just so great with him. My daughter has been going to Dr. Trotter for a while and I really liked his office and facility, with model cars and a tropical beach theme. But what I really liked it is the way explains procedures and how his treatments work, and what to expect. My daughter really likes him too. So when I decided to get my own teeth fixed, I went there too. Again, he explained the process well, and this time I had the experience of treatments. When I asked detailed questions, about how teeth move around he was very patient and explained in detail. He is amazing and makes it all simple, fast and efficient.
