There's a catholic chapel on the first floor, pretty convenient on Good Friday. The bad: the elevator doors close SO FAST... I was with a friend who uses a walker/rollator and the elevator doors literally closed ON US so many times I couldn't even keep track of it... And the elevators are mostly for people with mobility issues so it's weird that they wouldn't give you more than 2.5 seconds to exit the elevator before the doors slam close on your body painfully. Would love to know who designed this system and if they actually tested it with a real wheelchair or walker user. And the ugly: ladies room lines during a big event like Anime Boston are heinous. Literally 23 minutes waiting in line to pee on a Saturday afternoon. I can't believe I'm actually typing this rn but you might want to invest in some Depends if it's a large convention on a weekend day lol

We visited for Anime Boston 2025, our first time back in a while. The layout was mostly familiar, though there were a few changes--like a smaller game room, the artist alley now on the first floor, and the dealers room moved up to the second. The con wasn't overly packed, but still had a good-sized crowd. That said, the dealer's room felt a bit underwhelming this year--less variety, and prices were noticeably higher than online or official shops. The concert was definitely a highlight. Blue Encount and Reol both performed, and while Blue Encount had some audio balance issues (the instruments drowned out the vocals at times), Reol's set was energetic and really fun--even with the 20-minute delay. The line system for the concert was a bit of a mess though. No advance tickets and unclear instructions meant some people were turned away after waiting too long or lining up late. Food-wise, the stuff inside the convention center is overpriced as you'd expect, but luckily the Prudential Center and surrounding area have tons of food options if you're willing to step out.

If you're staying at the hotels "behind" the convention center, it's a short walk to the entrance, but man, trying to find your way to where you're going can be tricky. The architecture and interiors give it that classic, old Boston feel, like stepping back in time. They even had posters set up so people could make signs for race day, which was such a thoughtful and fun touch. One of the underrated perks is the parking. If you have access, it is actually a really convenient place to park in a part of the city where that is usually tough. Glad I got to see it, and it is a great experience if you know someone who can bring you in.

I imagine it would be perfect for a charity dinner or (who knows!) even a small wedding reception. 30 of us spreading out our yoga mats took up about half the room. The heat was unpredictable. When it gets cold, you have to go upstairs and find the man who can turn up the heat for you. He's a sweet guy with a little white dog. Then half an hour later you will be roasting and you'll need to zip upstairs again and ask him to turn it down. One or the other of the two women's toilets on the lower level was usually clogged. One day there were bugs crawling all over the wood floor and someone said they were termites, but we never saw them again. Over the course of two years, I grew to love these quirks.

Situated in a store front on Bow Street, the Green Room is a welcome performance space in the neighborhood. Definitely join their mailing list to stay abreast of visiting performers and take in a show prior to dinner and drinks in Union Square. There is no food or drink available in this room, so plan ahead.

The main courtyard area has long picnic like tables and benches and umbrellas so all can gather and enjoy their friends, family, drinks and food. I am glad to have checked this place out. I was there to go to the brewery called Notch. There is no service you go up to get food and drinks.
