I understand most people will look at the 4.6 rating and ignore this review. I urge you to highly consider the seriousness of what my review represents. Years ago I went to Dr. Harman regularly (as regular as you might see a dentist). At a routine cleaning I was told I had a cavity and they could drill it and fill it. I declined and ignored it. 6 months after that at my next cleaning Dr. Harman told me I needed to treat my cavity. 6 months later I got a cleaning at a new dentist and they had no mention of a cavity. 6 months after that I got another cleaning from a different dentist and no mention of a cavity. The bottom line was I had no cavity. This can be taken as an honest mistake or misdiagnosis but I'll explain why I think it's more than that. A couple weeks ago my wife's crown fell out. She has continued to see Dr. Harman who might I add has re-cemented her crown multiple times with it continuing to fall out but this time she was told her tooth was infected and she needed an implant for $9,000. We decided to get a 2nd opinion and the new dentist explained there was zero infection. Now we have 2 conflicting diagnoses so we decided to see a 3rd dentist who also said there was no infection and no implant was needed. I don't think this is a coincidence. I believe Dr. Harman manufactures false diagnosis's to pad his pockets. I believe he is dishonest and should not be seeing patients. BEWARE! read more

Dr Harman and his staff has always done a great job taking care of my family from toddlers to senior citizens. They are very professional with scheduling, services & billing. Their work is definitely top-quality which is why my entire family goes to them. read more

I walked out after the staff lied their faces off to me to try to coerce me into dental x rays. X-rays and cosmetic dentistry are where dentists make the most money. Told me it was the law. I know this is not true. I told them so. They insisted and so I asked, "what law?" Then they said that is wasn't a law but dr Harman is on the dental board and that it's required. Again, I asked required by whom? Because there is no such requirement. Him being on the board means he helped to formulate regulations for the dentists and does not require anything of patients by law. In fact, the American Dental Association recognizes that "soft" radiation or reduced x rays are best for patient health. Then they said it's his policy. I told them we agreed when I first visited I wouldn't have to do X-rays except my first visit. Then they said oh but it's been too long - over a year. I told them I wouldn't be doing x rays. On top of all of that, they sold me their "Harman plan" on my first visit, which is an up front fee for discounted dental services. I'll be seeking recompense from Harman Dental for the fee I paid for discounted services that I can now only use if I let them charge me for unnecessary x rays. All I wanted was a cleaning. This practice is a racket. I told them politely that they were their business practice involving deception is coercive and unethical, not to mention it makes dental care inaccessible to a majority of the population and they should be ashamed of pressuring patients into their discount plan, then only to make future visits and cleanings contingent on unwanted x rays. As I said earlier, I was told I would NOT have to have additional x rays when I purchased their "Harman plan." Consumer complaint will be filed with the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau and AZ State Board of Dental Examiners. read more

This dental office will not tell you if the dentist or technicians have been vaccinated for covid-19, which means the take-away for the patient must be that potentially none of them are vaccinated. However, whether it is one or 20 that are unvaccinated, you would then be forced to play Russian roulette for a medical service where staff has to get uncomfortably close to your open mouth, nose, eyes, etc. to do their work. I have taken my business elsewhere; to a practice that is proud that their staff believes in science and cares enough about their patients to get a simple shot. read more

I will literally recommend Dr. Harman to anyone that will let me! I love going to the dentist (weird I know). I used to loathe it and figured going to the dentist shouldn't be that hard!! And it really shouldn't! I found Dr. Harman and sure enough my experiences became completely different. The staff that works there is really nice and always asking about how you are doing in life. If you don't floss they will of course tell you that you need to but not in a bad way. I used to hate that question because at other dentists the staff would almost talk down to me about flossing. Make it seem like a crime that I hadn't been doing it. But now that I don't dread the question I actually started flossing (ironic..). I've been coming here for several years now. I love Dr. Harman! I have been through three other dentists in three years and finally have found someone who is competent, professional AND friendly. I don't know what it is with dentists, but there are a lot of rejects out there. I'm never kept waiting forever, and all of the staff is extremely friendly. The Dr. asks more questions than my prior dentists have, and actually seems to be paying attention to what's going on in my mouth. For example, no one has ever probed around in there looking for indications of oral cancers, which I have confirmed with other pals who see him is apparently part of his regular routine. If you had trouble locating this place, note that it's upstairs in the Arcadia Towne Center. Funny enough, I haven't had an actual service done here yet, but coming here for my initial consultation has me recommending this place to anyone needing to go to a dentist. First off, the reception is excellent. I set up my appointment using ZocDoc before coming in the same day, and received an email from Penny a few hours before my appointment asking for my insurance credentials. This place utilizes technology in order to get you in and out quicker, which is a definite plus for me. When I came in, an older fellow came in right before me, and addressed him in a way that shows they actually care about and remember their clients. My New Patient routine included xrays of all of my teeth by a very nice dental hygienist, who told where my problem areas were. It was nice to have these things explained instead of having services I "needed" thrown at me. Unfortunately, I would have to come in for a deep cleaning that would require 2 visits, but when I asked why it would take 2, I was told only because most people found a 3-hour visit inconvenient for them. So, if you don't mind having a 3 hour cleaning, you only have to come back once! Good to know, right? Dr. Harman also came in to check to see if I had any signs of oral cancer, which I've heard isn't a common practice elsewhere, but part of his usual routine. read more

My dentist of 25 years retired, and I'm as dental-phobic as you can get. So, finding someone I could trust and be comfortable with seemed like it would be nearly impossible. After a year of procrastinating, I began searching for "The One." Dr. Harman's name came up several different times, and I saw that he actually started out as a fellow dental-phobic himself. Megan and Shawn's kindness and patience on the phone actually got me in the door today for my first appointment, and everyone in this office just "gets it". X-rays, cleaning, examination, reviewing photos of my teeth with Dr. Harman and a frank discussion of where I am, what kind of overall treatment plan is best for me--all without any discomfort or anxiety. In addition, the office is immaculate--not just the reception area--everything I saw in the back area too. The office is in a small, clean little shopping center, with a Safeway, some shops and small businesses--where Arcadia blends into S. Scottsdale.(If you have mobility problems, the distance from the parking lot to the elevator/stairs is extremely short,and the office front door is close to the elevator/stairs). I feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Harman and his great staff. If you're looking for a dentist, take my advice and give them a call while he's still accepting new patients. read more

Believe it or not, I actually look forward to going to the dentist! Every time I come in to Dr. Harman's office I am promptly greeted and taken back by my AMAZING hygienist Kali. I swear she must take notes of our conversations because she remembers everything we chat about during my two cleanings each year. In addition to Kali, everyone in his office is extremely professional, polite and friendly. They all go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and well taken care of. Penny at the front desk is always so kind and helpful with billing which I really appreciate. Dr.Harman is a down to business kind of guy but in the nicest way. I like that I can come in before work and not have to worry about taking up most of my morning. He is honest, straight forward and skilled. If you are looking for a good and practical dentist who knows what he is doing and has an office staff and assistants that are qualified...then this is it. I have been going here for about a year and a half with over 3 visits so far and have had a great experience each time. Dr. Harman is good at assessing each situation and suggests the right treatment each time. You get the immediate feeling that he is a regular guy and he talks to you plain and simple. I feel at home here. And his office manager Penny and the rest of the staff are very good. All the equipment is modern and amazing since I was first going to the dentist. Dr. Harmon is a man of great character. My husband got hit in the face with a softball and needed serious dental help. Dr. Harmon not only did a great job but didn't make us drain our savings to pay for it. He is an honest man who wants the best for his patients at a fair price. So many doctors these days want to charge you an arm and a leg when they can get away with it, but Dr. Harmon didn't do that. I would recommend him to anyone.
