I got a cleaning a few times from this place and the last time I got a cleaning, my tooth got infected. I reported it to them and I was given a laser sealant and a year later I lost my tooth. A true hidden healthcare gem. I came as a new patient for an emergency--really I wanted to make sure it wasn't my wisdom teeth--and they got me in the next day, texting everything they needed and sent parking directions. The complex is lovely and their office is at the top, giving easily the loveliest views for a dental visit. Dr Kelly was incredibly thoughtful in explaining each step of what he was checking for after X-rays, and settled on a super minimal fix that absolutely solved my problem. Dr. Kelly is so cool it's amazing! Michelle was able to get me AND my husband an appointment, in December, as a new patient, with no problem. To me that was awesome seeing how the end of the year is the worst time to try to get an appointment to see any doctor! The check in was simple, my appointment was at 1 they were ready for me at like 1:05! No waiting at all. My tech was really nice and I enjoyed our conversation a lot. Dr. Kelly comes in all cool, full of life (not like some dull doctors that lack personality), very nice, answered ALL my questions, and the best part was he didn't rush me. You can tell he's super knowledgeable about his field and he truly enjoys what he does. You know how your lips feel so dry or weird after you've been holding it open for so long? No, just me, LOL, okay... Well anyway Ms. Kelly, co-owner of the practice, gives all their free natural lip balm, that she created btw, as a thank you. She came in right after the doctor was finished, introduced herself and presented me with a much needed gift at that absolute very moment. The lip balm felt and worked wonderfully, infused with peppermint and cocoa. Overall the 5 star rating is a true testament to experience. Go check them out, I'm certain you will experience the same. The worst dentist I have ever been to. I suffer from a lot of dental anxiety and so it had been a few years since I had been to the dentist. I had a check up with another dentist (not Dr. Kelly) and they told me that I needed one filling. I was nervous about the drill, so I looked for another dentist that used a laser to treat cavities, which is how I found Dr. Kelly. When I got to my appointment with him, however, he told me I need a crown, to the tune of $900 with insurance!! He painted an extremely dire picture to me, saying that my tooth would break apart if I got a filling instead, that the decay went all the way through the tooth and into the next one. He also said that it probably started with me having braces- I got my braces off when I was 12. I am now 22. It seems highly unlikely that I had a cavity starting 10 years ago. He went on in this manner for at least 10 minutes, while I was lying back in the chair with a picture of my tooth a few inches from my face. I started to feel lightheaded and even told him so and he still continued to make it seem like a very urgent matter. Absolutely awful bedside manner, and this is after I mentioned to the office several times that I was anxious already. He said "I've been doing this for 37 years", which seemed like an attempt to pressure me into trusting his opinion, rather than getting a second opinion from another dentist. He impressed upon me that this was something that needed to be done ASAP and when I went to the receptionist after to schedule it, she told me the jaw dropping figure of $900. When I questioned this, she "checked again" and it changed to around $700. At this point I felt completely overwhelmed and left the office in tears, without scheduling. Since then, they have emailed and texted me three times with a new figure of $500. Yesterday, I went back to my original dentist and, lo and behold, I had my cavity filled without even a mention of a crown. My bill was $58.50. Dr. Kelly has a very nice office but it seems like there may be some upselling to pay the rent...To be fair, Sherrie (his wife), the receptionist, and the hygienist were all very nice. But I absolutely would not recommend this practice if you have any degree of dental anxiety or don't want to be taken for a ride financially. read more

I normally avoid the dentist like the plague, as I deal with panic attacks with dental procedures. I'm on vacation though, and I've always wanted to get my teeth whitened. This business has a laser whitening offer for $300 that takes less than an hour. I figured it would be a great change before the next part of my vacation, in California. The first thing I noticed when I walked up the building is the extensive landscaping. It was already a good impression. I will say that the dental clinic was a bit difficult to get to once you're inside the building just because of so many floors and offices. This is a big building and we had to park in a garage close by. The office is well decorated but small. I later found out that Dr. Kelly is the only dentist so that explains it. There are only a few chairs but when I looked into one of the exam rooms I was struck by the wide-open views. Check out the pictures. My teeth were examined and x-rayed beforehand using a 360 degree xray machine. That is quite the funky contraption. You bite down on a piece of plastic and the Machine revolves around your head. (It was like the strangest helmet ever.) Much less discomfort than the bite-wing X-rays I have to take at my dentist. Dr. Kelly carefully examined my teeth to make certain there were no known problems before I got them whitened. This is not your normal dentist. He has quite a California, rock-and-roll kind of feel to his dress style and demeanor. It was a refreshing and down-to-earth approach to professional Dentistry, and his approach made me feel at ease pretty quickly. The associate who did my actual whitening was Stephanie. She explained every step of the process. She started by putting a plastic separator in my mouth to expose my teeth, put cotton around the separator protect my gums, and took detailed pictures. Let me talk about their pictures. They used this little lighted wand camera to get a close-up image on a monitor from any angle of your teeth. That was pretty awesome as I could actually see the fillings that I have and other details. The exam room was a bit cool so I was offered a blanket, my comfort was attended to in every aspect, and Stephanie was mindful to check with me about my anxiety and any discomfort. After figuring out what shade my teeth currently were, Stephanie painted a substance on my gums to protect them from the laser light. (When I took a picture it looks like the substance made my gums bright blue.) A strange but not painful experience. There were two rounds of putting bleach on my teeth and using a laser wand to activate the bleach. This was not painful, it was just a bit...strange..and the laser (I'm not kidding) made a "pew pew pew" laser noise. It is tough to laugh with a tooth separator in.... When the bleaching process was complete, the separators were removed and the blue stuff was peeled off of my gums. I was directed to brush my teeth very well and when I came back we compared the shades. The color had lightened by 2 shades... a very noticeable difference. A desensitizing gel was put on my teeth before I left and I was sent home with some additional gel if needed... but I have not noticed any sensitivity so far. I would say all told it took 45 minutes from start to finish. The staff was very professional, attentive to my comfort, and knowledgeable about dealing with people with anxiety. Dr. Kelly was on site and I wish I had a practice like this close to home. I would definitely recommend this location. read more

My partner and I have seen Dr. Kelly several times now and have ALWAYS felt welcomed like family. His wife Sherrie greets us with a hug! I had a painful tooth and found out my dentist no longer took my insurance plan. Devoted Health listed Dr. Kelly as a provider. I called early and left a message, I received a call back from Sherrie shortly after. She was so friendly and accommodating and was able to schedule me for the next business day. The office building is amazing and parking is no problem. The office is on the top floor looking over Phoenix and Camelback mountain. This alone will make your visit a very good experience. Before I met Dr. Kelly, Christina ex-rayed and cleaned my teeth. She was so gentle and thorough and very friendly. Dr. Kelly took more pictures and discussed what my pain problem could be and how we can go about fixing it. To make a personal story short I am happy with his approach to my dental issue and found his explanations and his friendly chair-side manner very encouraging. My previous dentist was good but I think Dr. Kelly's office will make seeing a dentist less painful. read more

First off let me say I am deathly afraid of dentists and a lot of other things. I let my smile look ugly because I was always afraid of the pain and work being done. I met Dr Kelly by coincidence searching for a dentist that was open on a holiday on Zocdoc. They ended up not being open but fit me in their schedule the next day. Right away I felt comfortable the staff was great, Sherrie greeted me and gave me the paperwork I felt calm and relaxed from the start. I soon met Dr Kelly and he showed me everything that needed work. We made a plan and the next week I was in the chair for 4 hours the longest I've ever been in a dentist chair and without IV sedation. They kept asking if I was ok and took breaks when needed. Now months later I'm not afraid to smile in pictures, I don't cover my mouth when I laugh, I smile at random people just because I have confidence that I never had before. Thank you Dr Kelly! Fast forward to today When you have a sharp painful piece of tooth and you call the dentist and he comes in just for your emergency! Now that's what you call great service. Dr. Kelly took over a very reputable, longstanding practice from Dr. Omer Reed after he retired. Dr. Reed had been my dentist since moving to Phoenix in 2001. He had given me a couple of Lumineers, which he always honored the 5 year warranty on. Dr. Reed had put on a fresh set in December 2014 with a new 5 year warranty. But he retired a couple of years later, sending a letter of introduction about Dr. Kelly to his patients. I inquired at Dr. Kelly's office about continuing treatment with his practice. However, I got the run around and a few glaringly inaccurate assertions about whether annual cleaning was tied to my Lumineer warranty, which went against what the Lumineers company said. They said my warranty would be voided if I did not get annual cleanings. I called to inform them I would be out of state and would only be able to get my cleaning done by a dentist where I was currently visiting. They said only a cleaning done by their office would count. I informed them the Lumineers company did not require annual cleanings to maintain the product warranty, nor did they have to be performed by Dr. Kelly's office. The staff person laughed off the apparent deception. A few months later when a chip needed repair (minor sanding or filling) and I was back in Phoenix and ready for a cleaning, they claimed they had called the Lumineers company and were told my warranty was expired because the old lumineers were only replaced for a color change (which is not true, they were broken). I called the Lumineers company and they said that Dr. Kelly is not in the Lumineers system/referrals, and they would not have said that. If Dr. Kelly doesn't even do Lumineers, why did his staff almost demand I get my teeth cleaned by them to maintain my product warranty? Something is really screwy over there. May I suggest seeing Beth Hamann, DDS? That's where I am going! read more

Dr. Kelly is fantastic. I needed four procedures including a root canal and a crown, was in and out in three hours! He has the latest in dental tech: Waterlase for many procedures including root canals and has a CEREC machine where the ceramic crown is made the same day you get it inserted and NO metal. Dr. Kelly is really passionate about his craft, the care he gives his patients and the staff seem really happy to work there. He was not in my network of dentists, but worth EVERY penny paid out of pocket. I had anxiety about being there and having to get so much work done, but his tone of voice was calming and his demeanor was relaxed. He made sure to tell me what he was doing every step of the way. His dental assistant Samantha and office assistant Emma are also top-notch, giving great customer service, are down-to-earth and jovial. No pretense here. You hear so many horror stories about bad root canal/dental experiences, leaving people traumatized and phobic. Not with Dr. Kelly. He's a good guy and a great dentist. Dr. Kelly and his fabulous team ROCK! I visited recently for a whitening appointment, and was quite apprehensive to book, having teeth sensitivity to whitening strips.
