UPDATE TO PREVIOUS Originally I gave 2 out of 5 stars I'm moving to 4 out of 5 based on most recent interactions and the business taking ownership for their disconnect in communication. Brennan who I spoke with originally had told me to bring my vehicle in to be looked at due to the media display not working and if it happens to be the chord the cost of labor would be rolled over into other jobs. I needed tires and alignment so I was ok with this. Unfortunately Brennan was out when the job was performed and the marching orders weren't carried over. I was charged. They did end up canceling the bill due to the miscommunication. When I did end up getting my tires and alignment done there that same month, their all in process was supposed to be $889, but it was actually $1012. That is when i decided to write my initial post. That said, my truck has been shaking. I thought it was due to the alignment and balancing that had just been performed. They said my truck needs new axles, but because this is a known issue, it may soon become a recall on my vehicle. They are taking care of it for me, along with another part that is on recall for my vehicle, free of charge. Brennan sincerely apologized for the did disconnect from previous, and how marching orders weren't carried down the line as relayed to me, the customer. Even in my original post, I said I want to like them, and they do good work. Despite my frustration at the time, I still didn't short them on being good people and performing good work. My issues were based on what was verbalized to me, versus what was charged to me. The call and experience has significantly improved my reassessment. I'm still not at 5 stars. I still had to endure these headaches. But I'm hoping this is all in the past and all my future experiences were like my past experiences, barring this one month of trials and tribulations. Their service department charged 3% for a credit card transaction. John Kennedy Ford is a multi dealership organization. I expected a 3% from a corner garage that's trying to make ends meet but not a Kennedy dealership. It seems very petty especially on a service bill that was over $2,000. Also, the owners manual suggests changing the oil every 10,000 miles. Their windshield sticker suggests changing oil at 5,000 miles. That's $237 per oil change. Big difference for a working man. An overall unpleasant experience with their service department based primarily on greedy nickel and dime charges to their customers. read more

First my excellent Sales Guy Gene (Henry) Blank who has a pencil so sharp that no deal he makes will ever disappoint you . That is only half my satisfaction , the second greatest is Service, a great guy named Brenden Belge who can run a marathon over hot coals to get you exactly what you want and need (like a video evaluation, Kevlar Tires and an 800 ah battery ) at an amazingly fair price, and fair labor charge . Lastly the shuttle service they provide makes dealing with them a convenient and gratifying experience. Why would I go anywhere else ? Thank You John Kennedy Ford Mazda , and to others not mentioned. I really wanted a great experience purchasing my first new car, having always bought used previously. My husband and myself found the new 2025 Expedition online and knew we wanted to trade in and purchase it. We contacted Stacey, the sales associate at JK Ford Pottstown and started the buying process. John and Stacey and others originally started with great communication and customer service. However, that quickly changed when the protective floor mats we asked be included in the purchase of our new car and were promised were not delivered. Stacey, our sales associate sent 3 separate messages confirming they were ordered, yet here we are over 2 months later with only 1/2 the car with protective mats STILL and I have since been completely ignored by the associate. My husband contacted Mr Armstrong about this issue, and he promised himself that he would get it taken care of. That was also over 3 weeks ago and still no mats. They communication was only there for the sale and the quick buck, I did send Stacey one last message suggesting she put more effort into communication and promises made with her future sales and how unprofessional and stressful she has made this process for me. I do not recommend. This could've been a much better experience with a different sales rep or management stepping in to help us resolve and making it right. read more

If you plan on buying a used car from this location, don't! I bought a used car from them just over a year ago and it's cost me thousands of dollars in repairs. Bought an Explorer in hopes of a comfier drive for everyone, including my newborn twins. A couple weeks later with my babies in back I hit the breaks and the middle seat shoots up, it's not hinged. I figure it was a close call but nothing more. Mess with the seat, it doesn't latch at all, the piece is bent. They made sure to slap that new inspection sticker on the car though. I should have know. That was just the beginning. Engine issues, sold me a car with winter wheels so they leaked air constantly until I replaced them, the list goes on, I've spent as much on repairs as the car is worth now and it's just over a year as I said. read more

I have a Ford 2016 F150 that needed service. I went to my local Ford Dealer in Souderton, Pa, and they said it would be two weeks until they could get me in. Also, they said they would charge $179.00 to run a diagnostic test to see why my backup camera wasn't working. Instead of waiting, I called John Kennedy Ford of Pottstown, and they got me in the next day for an oil change and tire rotation. They had to order a backup camera, which took a few days. Their service was the best I have had with any dealer for a long time. They were professional and kept me up to date. Also, there was no $179 charge for a diagnostic test. I highly recommend John Kennedy Service, Jon Taylor was great and easy to work with!!!! read more

I want to give my thanks to Brenden Belge for the prompt response to my post and for coming through for JF Kennedy Dealership, for taking the action needed to solve our problem. I appreciated it for picking up the truck at our home in Delaware and providing a loaner car for my husband. Thank you, for taking care of the problem with my husband's truck, for keeping my husband updated with every service done to the truck. I'm grateful that the wheels and studs weren't compromised by being, loose which was my main concern and the most dangerous. So, now is safe to drive the truck. Thank you for the replacement of the hub caps, the touchup on the small dents and scratches on the tailgate and the lid cover. Very pleased! read more

My son is 17 years old and needs hand controls to drive. He finished his training and we went in search of a new family car that we could have them installed in. We had found a Mazda 3 (low milage and nice package) online and requested a test drive. We received 3 phone calls the day we planned to go in. When we arrived at our scheduled time, there was no one to help us. We stood in the show room for over 5 minutes before anyone even approached us. Then Mr. Chu (the only GOOD thing about all of this) came out and apologized over and over because the car we were there to test drive was MIA. They found a similar model for us to try. I left me keys so they could appraise my trade-in while we test drove the car, as I needed to get home in time to meet my younger son from school. When we arrived back, Mr. Chu greeted us and asked us to have a seat while they appraised my trade-in (mind you I had left my keys and asked they do it while we were gone). It took them 20 minutes to under value my trade-in by over $2000 (per the lowest KBB trade in value). When Mr. Chu came back he said, "I can't seem to find my manager but I know he will want to meet you and speak about your trade-in so we can make you a deal" Which was strange because his manager had just told him what to offer me (but was now MIA, like the car). We waited patiently while we were completely ignored. During that time a man in his office, got into a screaming match with the "Ford Side of the Business" He proceeded to scream obscenities and a slur of words I won't type our of respect to readers. I was told "it's his brother, they do that a lot" as if that was an excuse for the insanely unprofessional and offensive behavior. Mr. Chu did his best to find his manager, but after an hour of waiting to have a simple conversation about what deal they would offer on the mystery Mazda 3 (that never showed up), we left. I am not someone who expects a lot, but when a customer is about to spend $20,000 in cash to buy a new car you would think that the dealer would be respectful, courteous, and that we would be worth 5 minutes of the managers time. Had this place been owned by Mr. Chu, I would have bought a car from him (if they ever found it). But I will never ever recommend this dealer to anyone, in fact I will say quite to opposite. If you want to be treated like your time & money don't matter and want to sit an listen to the boss scream at his brother over the phone with his door open for all to hear, JFK Pottstown is your kind of dealership. We ended up driving down the road and had an amazing experience at Piazza Honda (where they not only offered me a trade-in value that was fair, they upgraded the car to a better package for nothing), and I didn't have to listen to anyone drop the F bomb to his brother. read more

Complete lack of caring, horrible follow up and no return phone calls from the GM to the service manager to the salesman I bought the car from. update to my first review below: the reply from john kennedy is a lie. i have a letter that we received at the time of signing the documents proving that there was price protection and no one ever stated that there was not going to be or we wouldn't have bought the truck. you lied to us before we bought the truck. we told your finance person we would walk away from the truck if the price that we ordered it under would not be honored which is why i got the paperwork i did that you typed up proving you are lieing. i filed a complaint against you with the attorney general's office and they have the letter you gave us the day we signed the paperwork. we knew we couldn't trust you which is why we asked for it in writing. and the best part is you have never told us this ever. write us a check then if you screwed up and didn't tell us this. every time we have been in there you have said that you didn't know why we have not received it. this is such a lie. we ordered a new f350 king ranch ($90k) from john kennedy ford in december of 2021. we received it in early january 2023. when we arrived to sign the paperwork we noticed there was a price difference from the quoted price when we ordered it. we inquired about this and were told that ford "guarantees" the price from 2021 and that we would receive a refund in excess of $5,000 within 45-60 days. that was 8 months ago. we have spoken to numerous times our sales person, the sales manager, the finance manager as well as cfo of john kennedy trying to get an answer where our money is. they keep blowing us off. we called ford and found out they got the money and are lying about it. we have asked repeatedly for our money and they have never given us the money. the lady upstairs that handles the money told us to "sue" them. very unprofessional and rude. we have used them for over 30 years and bought numerous trucks and repairs for all our work vehicles and this is how we are treated. calling, showing up and repeatedly asking for help for 8 months hasn't resolved anything. this is why they get a 1 star review. we gave them a chance to fix this and they don't. read more

I really don't understand how they don't have more bad reviews... Roughly 5 years ago i was searching for my first car at 16. I had saved up my money and had a good amount to put down on a car. I was looking for a small four door used car. Salesman was very nice but unfortunately he knew what he was selling to me and didn't say a word. He knew i was a high school student and needed this car to get me through college. The whole reason i saved up to get a decent car... Ignorant to say the least. How can you sell a car to a STUDENT knowing the issues it has. 2014 ford focus 2 YEARS OLD when i bought it... apparently ford has a lawsuit against them for these cars because of the transmission issue that is "unfixable" mind you they've had this issue for years before i even was looking at cars. My warranty covered it until 100,000 miles.. so i didn't think much of it until i heard its an on going problem meaning i would have to come back EACH YEAR to get the clutch replaced. I hit 100,000 miles and they refuse to pay for it let alone help me figure out what to do!!! They told me to contact ford.. wtf?!!! U are ford and if u have to contact someone higher up these employees should be doing it for me! My car would stall and have issues accelerating after stopping at stop signs and lights so pretty dangerous if u ask me. Eventually, after it got to a point i felt seriously unsafe driving this anywhere.. we called ford they told us about the lawsuit and we could file a claim. They said we would see an email in 10-15 days and to follow the instructions. After 20 days still no email.. we started calling at least twice a day.. all we got was rude and disrespectful customer service and was told we would get it. My car then started to get even worse so we called with the same disrespect we were given and they said we had to pay the 2,000 dollars and then "call back" to get reimbursed.. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!! As a college student this was such a stressful first car. I loved the vehicle literally everything about it but the trans was great. But the fact they sold this to a 16 year old and not a word about this issue really rubbed me the wrong way. We were going to pay it and wait for the reimbursement bc i was in the process of saving for a new vehicle and wasn't ready to buy yet. Unfortunately i was in a car accident so I never got the chance to see if they'd actually pay me back. I currently own a brand new Nissan rogue 2021. They cared about the fact i was a college student and told me about any recalls and past issues they've had with this vehicle. I will never NEVERRRR buy a ford again. Let me just add here while I'm at it.. i went in for service a few times and they tried taking advantage of a female teenager. My mom would call have everything set up for me bc she works and cant come every time.. With the most disrespect and ignorant attitude i was left crying and having my mom call them because i didn't know how to deal with them. I will always remember this girls name 'Jessica Kuntz' very rude and made me so upset.. again i was a minor. I am now 21 and speaking up because that service is not acceptable. This is the 4th time I've serviced my vehicle at a John Kennedy store since we moved out here and the service here is wonderful. This ones closet to us but I'd drive 1hr for them!!! So much so that I service both of our cars here and I even purchased a car from them. I have worked with 3 of their service advisors who managed my vehicle in a timely and caring matter. DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM JOHN KENNEDY AUTO GROUP! They have the worst warranty in the business and will not correct problems when you have them. I bought a 2006 Toyota 4Runner from John Kennedy Ford Pottstown on May 22, 2013. On September 01, 2013 the transmission died after only driving 2,016 miles since the purchase. I called John Kennedy and they told me I am 2 weeks after the 3 month/ 4000 mile warranty and therefore they aren't obligated to do anything. I took the car to a reputable transmission shop at a cost of $4268. They told me that the transmission was 2 quarts low in fluid and there was no sign of internal or external leakage. I wrote to Michael & Kurt Kennedy, the owners, and requested that they honor the warranty and reimburse me half (i.e. $2134 since it was a 50/50 warranty) because the defect was present during the warranty period. About a month later I received a very legalistic letter from a manager at John Kennedy addressed "To whom it may concern" stating that "we must deferentially decline". Do yourself a favor and go to a dealer that will treat you well and not in a legalistic manner. There are better places to buy with better warranties and service. For instance, Carsense has a 6 month/ 6000 mile warranty and it covers 100%. You know what they say...LET THE BUYER BEWARE OF JOHN KENNEDY AUTO GROUP. read more

These guys are crooks. Do not buy a car from this dealership. When I purchased my used car the dealer said verbally that if I encountered any problems within 3 months I should bring it in and they would help me out. I was given no paperwork on this point. I was assured that the car was "Ford Certified," meaning (according to the dealer) that it had been thoroughly inspected and any problems taken care of. However, I started to suspect that the car had brake and transmission problems. I re-confirmed the 3 month limit with the dealer over the phone. But when I brought the car in to the dealership a little after two months, I was told that the warranty was in actuality 3 months or 3,000 miles, which I had exceeded. The brake rotors and pads needed replacement, as did the transmission, which means they did not actually inspect or fix much on the car at all. They then refused to help me with repairs to the transmission. Never was I told, either verbally or in writing, that there was a 3,000 mile limit. Please, don't buy a car from these scam artists! read more

Recently bought a 2014 Ford F250 Platinum. I am very disappointed in the integrity of this dealership. Every dealership would change the oil in a vehicle when they received it. I was told this was done only to find out that was not the case. It was poorly detailed, missing front bumper valance (which I was told they would send me a new one but now they won't return my phone calls), vehicle was inspected by the dealership but after taking it to my local dealership the front brakes were completely wore out and need replaced. After washing the vehicle twice there were many scratches that appeared making me think they used a color wax to cover up the scratches. Definitely expected more for a $50k vehicle purchase. read more
