Dr. Robb is an incredible Vet. Skilled far beyond any Vet I have found. I brought my 14 yo kitty in to check on Coco as she started to pee out of litter box. Coco was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Dr Robb sugested a bilateral Thyroidectomy. Checking tow other vets for second opinion, i found tey do not operate. Instead they push radioative idoine injection and tout it as the gold standard. Vets today do not operate. You need a specialist... Not with Dr. Robb. He has done over 900 of these. I chose surgery. No issues whatsoever. Coco is so much better. I have sent 3 dogs to Dr. Robb. I travel 45 minutes and will not go to another vet. I found him after years of bad experiences with my other dogs at 3 other vets. You will not be pushed or made to feel guilted into over-vaccinating or excessive treatments here. He goes above & beyond. More importantly he listens to your concerns and takes the time to explain things. I had my puppy spayed here and I have never had a dog heal so well with very little scarring at all. I also lost a dog who had been sick for a while. In Doctor Robb's care we were able to keep him happy and healthy longer so we're could have more time together. Dr Robb and his staff are the best there is. We have 2 difficult German shepherd / Belgian malinois dogs. I have SO much anxiety taking my dogs anywhere - except Dr Robbs. When you go to Dr Robb's, his staff makes sure there's no other dogs in the waiting area to reduce stress / negative interactions when you enter / exit. I love that. Puts me at ease. He never over charges you or pushes you to do unnecessary testing or vaccines. He works with you and your / your dogs individual needs. We've have both dogs spayed with him. He's amazing. It really pains me to write this review but I feel I must. I have been a patient of Dr. Robb's for several years and was there when his new practice opened in Newtown. I have referred friends to him and always spoke up for the mission of Protect the Pets. Dr. Robb professes to be a Christian and I am as well. After putting my 17 year-old Havanese down in December, we got a new puppy in May and of course, brought him for a checkup with Dr. Robb immediately after we brought him home. He examined him and said he was in good health. I did not tell him that he had actually been diagnosed with a heart murmur (they can go away on their own) and I wanted to see if he picked it up or not. He did not mention it. We were also charged a "new patient" fee of $100 for this initial exam! I asked to have a fecal test which cost a whopping $175! A few months later, I phoned to get an appointment for his neutering. They asked me for $100 deposit to hold the appointment for three weeks out. No problem - I understand. This morning was to be his neutering and when we got there, they asked for 1/2 of the cost of the procedure up front and then the rest when we pick him up...what???? This is in addition to the deposit they had for three weeks. When I complained, they sent this very unprofessional woman out to tell me that it's SOP and that four other people gave their deposits and they don't have a problem with it! Dr. Robb was no where to be seen. I said to her that I was not going to follow this ridiculous procedure and would Dr. Robb be willing to loose me as a customer for this? She said we will mail you back your deposit! We left and will not return. Sadly, this practice is going downhill and he seems desparate. the staff have turned over several times since we've been going there and that concerns me also. It's always dirty and smelly. I could see if his customers were getting a good price for his services, but that's not the case! This neutering was to cost me $1,000 which includes a chip (not that expensive). So beware of all of the "protect the pets" mumbo jumbo and his professions of faith. To me, he seems to be a man of little faith if he insists on asking for money at every step and doesn't trust those who have been faithful to him all this time. Shame on you Dr. Robb! read more

I recently brought my 12-year old Vizsla to Dr. Robb as we feared my dog was terminally ill. It turns out he had lymphoma. We decided not to pursue chemo and have my dog's remaining months/quality of life managed in that way. While Dr. Robb initially said it was a family decision as to put him through that process, he later changed his view and indicated 3 times in the follow-up consultation that he recommends the chemo ($10k plus, 26 weeks of injections and pain meds). I firmly said that is not the direction we wanted to go in and now I need to understand how I manage his care and quality of life. I called yesterday to ask for invoices to be sent so I can put them through insurance and then today I was informed I would need to pay $15.00 in order to receive them. When asked the reason I was told they get 6-7 requests a day and it is a lot of work to generate them so they have to charge. I called back after thinking about it, and Dr. Robb himself got on the phone, where I explained my dog is dying and I don't think printing out a few receipts should be at a cost to me. Incidentally I paid every invoice and showed up for every appointment, including the deposit of $50 they take for each appointment (due to no shows and cancellations). Dr. Robb then proceeded to say "I am happy to discontinue you and your dog as clients." This while my dog is likely in his final/days and weeks of care. Good ridden to this unprofessional doctor, who is more focused on revenue then true dog care. Our visits with the staff were okay, but even then there was no compassion as they rushed my dog for an x-ray while my daughter stood there wanting to say goodbye and turned and he was gone. I am a professional businesswoman, and this interaction with Dr. Robb is a warning to others. Beware of Dr Robb who is "not protecting our pets." On more than five occasions the staff was bragging about what great results they had with 12 and 14 year old dogs. I am fortunate i have a vet in my family who advised me of the proper way to care for our very beloved dog. If you love your dog as much as me and my family do, do not let Dr. Robb or his practice care for the dog. read more

My wife and I took our two dogs, Charlie and Patch to Dr. Robb for a check up on both our pets. We thought it would be nothing more then routine. After they were both examined by Dr. Robb, Patch was having kidney problems, and Charlie was diagnosed with an inlarged heart. Charlie was in worst shape, and after getting his meds, we were allowed to take them home. While in the car, Charlie had an attack and his heart stopped. We ran back in, and with quick action, Dr. Robb and his staff made quick work of trying to bring our beloved pet back to us. Both my wife and I really thought he was gone. Dr. Robb worked so hard to keep him alive. Well in just about 5 hours, Charlie came home. When I carried his limp body back in to Dr. Robb and the staff, I really thought that was it. This staff is the most thoughtful and hard working staff i have ever encountered. They were there with us every step of the way, and keep us informed though all the good and bad. We got a miracle. Dr. Robb is amazing man who loves animals, and their human owners. His bed side manor is fantastic. I would recommend if yoU are a pet owner, and live in the Newtown area, see him immediately! Dr. Robb is by far the most caring, gentle and loving vet I have ever encountered. His organization, Protect The Pets is amazing, as the focus is on the best health and wellness for your pet. I have been surrounded with pets and vets my entire life.... Never have I met a more professional vet. Dr. Robb puts his pets first always, providing options for treatments, excellent boarding service, and Dr. Robb employs exemplary professional people, who are equally wonderful. I highly recommend. I have spent a tremendous amount of money with this vet but I now understand why the state of Connecticut had such an issue with him and he ended up in court. $65 for vet visits and he never even took any of the vitals (unless specifically asked to) aka take the temperature, even weigh the dog - which I did myself. Always waited a minimum of 30 minutes even with scheduled appointments and was rushed in and out within 15. Last straw? Today when my Great Dane who has IBD which Robb has "treated" for over two years needed to have a prescription filled from a specialty vet (which apparently is normal protocol to ask the vet of record to fill if the facility is fairly far away to just pick up the pills from) and Robb refused. Per Guardian (the specialty vet) they have NEVER, (verbatim re "NEVER") had a local vet that a dog has been going to on a regular basis refuse to fill a prescription. By the way the prescription was to treat Lyme which showed up in the last visit (March 2024) and Robb ended up putting him on doxycycline for (apparently) an inadequate amount of time -- which is why we are back here again. I ended up at these specialists because when I asked Robb to consolidate an ultrasound appointment with the office visit he refused saying he wanted me come in and talk to him first and only then would only schedule the ultrasound afterwards - to apparently double dip. He has treated this dog for over two years for this complaint what could he possibly determine with just an office visit to discuss what's going on? Nothing is the answer. With IBD it is crucial this dog have tracking on how his gut is but again apparently Dr. Robb wanted to make sure he got two office visits out of it. When I took the dog to the specialty vet since they can do ultrasounds and Robb refused to schedule the appointments on the same day apparently Dr. Robb was outraged that I would go to someplace that could actually consolidate. I should also mention on the last visit I'm the one who noticed my dog has lost 10 pounds within a year. When I pointed it out to Robb he looked at it and said "Oh yeah look at that". He doesn't even read the charts. Couldn't care less. Even more shocking my dog has lost almost 20 pounds over two years. read more

EXCELLENT!! QUALITY CARE!! I drove over an hour(about an hour and a half actually) to meet Dr. Robb and his staff with my pack. I wanted titer tests done. My regular vet,and every other vet I have contacted,have consistently,constantly,repeatedly,worked diligently to dissuade me from doing titers. They used to be $75 a piece. Now my vet wanted $500 per titer test!! RIDICULOUS!! Another clinic told me $350. Still OUTRAGEOUS because titers are in the best interest of our animals health and quality of life! I paid $125 a titer with Dr. Robb. (I have three dogs). SICK AND TIRED OF BEING STEERED AND FORCED BY THE VETERINARY COMMUNITY AND A CORRUPT SO CALLED LAW TO CONTINUALLY JAB MY FUR BABIES SO BIG PHARMA AND THE VET FIELD CAN PROFIT FROM IT!!! Particularly when overvaccination has been scientifically and medically proven to cause disease and death! One of my cats almost died from the rabies shot. The next year,the vet i used in Bolton,Ct jabbed him again with a rabies shot. Even though there was a clear,bright irange medical alert on the outside of his fike. Visible from across the room. The jab almost killed my Shasta AGAIN! it is known to sicken I had a friend whose kitten died from the rabies shot. read more

Thank God for finding Dr. John Robb! My husband and I live on a beautiful farm, 22 acres, and a large home in Canton, Georgia. We have 7 horses, very spoiled by the way, 4 dogs and 19 indoor only cats, also very spoiled. The pets even have their own Will in the event my husband and I die they are to stay in the home and all our money goes to supporting them the rest of their natural lives. We have plenty of money. In other words, we are NOT neglectful pet owners! However, I refuse to over vaccinate my animals and I refuse to vaccinate a cat that is over 10 years old. These animals are pumped full of vaccines from the time they are babies and then vets expect pet owners to continue doing it year-after-year despite the health risks. A few years ago we had a vet kill our cat who went in for a urinary issue (and it's not the first time vets have killed our animals), and though I adamantly insisted to everyone there that they sedate him before anyone touches him ( he was still very feral) they didn't, and the cat ended up fighting with them and falling on it's head on the floor and suffered brain issues, then heart failure. Of course, this was devastating enough, but then this same vet, because it turns out my cat had bit one of her techs during this brutal event that took place on him in their examine room, demanded his head be cut off to test for rabies because he was a year lapsed in his vaccine and had bit her tech in his struggle. (This cat came from my elderly mother in Arizona who did not socialize them but did manage to get them vaccinated as babies. This boy and his family were never outside after she brought them in at just a week old with their tiny mother whom she had cared for for many months; and the mother was NOT sick. (Phoenix, AZ., has a very low rabies reports.) Then, this same vet, because she did not know the laws in our County that allow people to have as many pets as they want as long as they are not hoarding or mistreating them, rather than other nearby Counties that only allow so many per household, reported us to the Marshall. We HAD to vaccine all our pets for Rabies then! Even though they had had many already (most of our pets are quite old) and NONE of them leave this house, it was the LAW! In fear they would confiscate our animals they had the shots. I saw them giving my little 4 lb Chihuahua the same dose they gave my 80 lb rescue, and when I asked him about that, and also about why are the rabies shots for cats was coming out of the same vial that he gave to the dogs, his answer was "It's all the same." I believe a few of them later developed cancer and other diseases that shortened their lives due to this; also my precious little Persian now has daily sinus issues and upper respiratory conditions due to it weakening her immune system, and that vet wanted me to give her prescribed medication every day that would harm her kidneys. She already had some urinary issues as well. I give her homeopathic remedies that work very well, however, she should not have these issues, but she was very tiny to receive such a massive dose after already having several in her life. Now, I am faced again with the vet insisting this happens all over again. And I REFUSE!!!! I will move them to the mountains if I have to! I will lie. I will hide them. I will do whatever it takes to keep that poison out of their precious little bodies that have already been loaded with these idiots toxins and for no good reason! I will do ANYTHING to protect my beloved pets. That is my duty, And I love them, so I will not knowingly do more harm to them. Of course, you say this to most vets or even most people, and they think you are insane. Before Dr Robb I had no proof or support for not vaccinating after a certain amount so I am so grateful to know of him, his knowledge, his life dedication to protecting the animals from big money making enterprises like the not so good vets and the pharmaceutical companies (who also gain from us humans' ignorance by listening to human doctors, by the way). So, besides showing my gratitude to Dr Robb, can someone PLEASE tell me who I can contact in GA. that may be closer that can become my vet and stand up for me when/if the Marshall shows up at my door again? Is there any legal recourse I have for not doing it today? We have the money and will sue anybody, even the Government, whatever it takes to get this message out and make a stand for these pets. Dr Robb truly cares about the health of your animal! We drive all the way from Milford to Newtown for my dogs check ups, because he is willing to titer test instead of pushing for more unnecessary vaccines. My dog was over vaccinated as a pup, before I knew any better, and now has a seizure disorder. Even though I've changed her diet, water, lifestyle, and removed all chemicals from the house, it also takes a vet who doesn't continue to push annual vaccines unnecessarily, and understands the dogs health comes first. Beware of this veterinarian. He did not treat us or our animal with respect. The office is dilapidated and we waited 90 minutes to see him for a 10 minute conversation. We were 10 minutes late to our appointment and felt as though we were being "punished" for our lateness. He also asked us if we were "up to the challenge" of dealing with a Shar-pei, which made us extremely uncomfortable. What does that even mean? He charged us $65.00 for waiting for 90 minutes and not examining the animal. We will NOT be returning! read more

I called for 3 days straight on the phone number given. I even scheduled a vet appointment for my vet to draw blood to send in for titers, but had to cancel due to no return phone call. Website is not easily understood - very user unfriendly. When I finally received a call, a woman (later she gave her name in a screech to me that she was Dr. Robb's wife) kept talking over me with a very heavy accent, even though I kept saying I did not understand and if she would just give me a minute, I could pull up the website so I would know exactly what to choose. I've seen many videos from Dr. Robb, and frankly, little information is gleaned other than he has gone through major disruptions in his life over his views and beliefs. So if you are not going to push a button for abbreviations that you and I and his wife are not able to clarify, I'd suggest getting good information - ANY information - elsewhere. read more
