I ordered a touch up paint through the official Toyota website, and selected John Roberts Toyota for pick up (only store available near me for pick up). I was informed by confirmation email (when I ordered) that I would get an email from John Roberts Toyota when it was ready for pickup. After two weeks, and no email, I called weekly to check in (they promised on the phone to call and email when it was ready for pickup). Almost 4 weeks later, I finally call again to ask if it's ready for pickup and they said it is (no phone call or email, like promised/expected via the Toyota website). I drove an hour to pick up the paint since I was leaving in less than 48 hours to an out of state convention where my car would be included in content. Unfortunately, when I picked up the touch up paint (which was in a plastic package), I had no idea that they gave me the wrong color. I applied the touch up paint to my car the next day during my lunch break (after a fresh car wash), and was confused by the color that applied. I didn't have anything to remove it, so I just hoped that it would dry the correct color, but it didn't. When I called John Roberts to report that they had given me the wrong color and that I needed the correct color that day, they said I would have to purchase a new touch up paint (because the manager had left, wouldn't answer calls, and nobody at the store knew how to do an exchange or refund), and make it in time for closing when I had to finish my shift. There were no accommodations at all for their mistake, not even paint remover. I asked my fiancé to book it from his work to the store and get me the touch up paint since my car, now, had an incorrect paint color on it and sent him with proof that I had purchased a specific paint color on the website and they gave me the wrong one. He barely made it before closing and charged him for the paint. I left more than one voicemail with the department manager/head of the parts department to try to get a refund for the original product, but he has never called back. Worst experience ever, nobody in the parts department knows how to do their job, and super unprofessional. Would NOT recommend. read more

John Roberts service is terrible! I purchased a new $80k truck from them a few months ago and they have performed the 5k tire rotate and the 10k mile oil and tire service yesterday. Because they failed to align the mew truck properly 3 out of the 4 tires need to be replaced and they want $1300 for there errors. In fact they sent me out the door with a very dangerous tire showing the belts through the sidewall. Upon return today they would not stand behind their work and showed their true crooked nature. Stay away from these unprofessional shysters. read more

A few months ago I took my 2018 4Runner to John Robert Toyota for an Oil change. The Technician didn't check the oil Cartridge after doing the oil change Which leaked. I waited for the Vehicle. As they are Toyota Dealeship and service center I assumed it was checked. I drive my vehicle home, backed into the driveway and the car dumped 2 quarts of synthitic oil on a brand new concrete driveway. I called the dealership, they sent someone out to wash the driveway with Dish soap. That did nothing for the oil Damage to the driveway, John Roberts has since Ghosted me with regard to addressing or resolving the issue. Never fully taking responsibilty for the damage done to my driveway. My impression of dealerships was that they were a cut above local garages. That simply just isn't the case with John Roberts. While they did wash the under carriage of the vehicle, My driveway is a much bigger issue. read more

Have you had windshield washer problems after getting oil change? I did. And it was deliberate fraud! Next time your mechanic cuts the fluid pressure line, 1)make sure the owner is not a 35yr mechanic 2)don't use a serrated pocket knife blade. The second one was what busted your fraud. Where you cut the hose is only accessible with hood up and cannot be accessed by critters because of steel plate. It can be done in 5seconds. And the 6 cuts you made perfect 1mm waves in the rubber tubing. That repair $200-$1000+ depending on how far you take the second fraud. Really Sad. 1)I'll never come back to your dealership 2)I was planning on buying a 2022 Tundra Pro this fall. Fraud a customer for $200+, lose $60,000 sale. Idiots. read more

I normally do not leave bad reviews on business becouse I own a small business and one bad review does hurt But I can't not this time I took my 2011 Toyota Tundra to them because it had a head gasket leaking some antifreeze in my #7 cylinder 6 months prior to that I had big springs garage do work which included installing a new timing chain and gears when I got the truck back it had a loud knocking sound in it from were timing cover is "note" when the truck went in it sounded great no ticking knocking nothing for 6 months when I brought it back to them to look at they said sounds like you need new timing chain it just happen to probably go bad while it was worked on I said that's impossible a part don't break while engine is being worked on someone put something together wrong it has never made that sound they said that knocking is normal there was a lot of excuses then they said we will take apart but when we find it's not something we did that will be an additional 5000 on top of the 5000 you just spent for the head gasket what a joke do not bring your vehicles here there mechanic's lack experience and will not back there mistakes Note when I got under hood I found a bunch of clips broke and oil dip stick was not bolted on and did have to tighten a few bolts under the truck read more

My wheel stud was broken during a tire rotation. The service department told me it would be $6 to fix it. I hesitated but they told me I couldn't drive the car with it broken, so I had no choice. After they fixed it, they then told me it was already broken when I got there and charged me $180. This is a very dishonest practice, and financially difficult for me since I'm disabled. I will not use their services again and don't recommend them to anyone else. read more

No silly dealer games...ask me about the time a dealer tried to not give me the key back to my trade-in, or removed the license tags on the trade-in before wrapping up the transaction, or best yet, the number when I went to pay was higher than what was agreed - walked in every case. This is the slowest dealership I've ever been to. I took my car here at 0715 and am still sitting here at 1000 for a small AC leak. There are countless YouTube tutorials explaining in under 6 minutes how to fix this issue, but I couldn't jack my car up to get underneath and blow the clogged tube out. I figured since I'm under warranty I'd take it in and enjoy my morning. Instead these lazy technicians wanted to charge 3 hours on a small task. I made an appointment as well. I've bought a Tacoma and an Avalon from John Roberts. The salesman, Dalton, was great to work with. The finance guy, not so good. Not a huge deal but I was told under 3% interest when before I bought and it jumped to 3.5% when it came time to sign...not a big deal really, just feels wrong. The biggest issue is with the service department. Multiple issues over several years, I had even decided not to go back the service department until I bought the Avalon. But, it had been a few years and since I had the 24 month Toyota service agreement, I've gone back. Issues have been: They ruined a tire when trying to patch it. They replaced a blower fan under warranty and forgot to put the glove box back together. Simple enough, but they didn't reset the service required light after an oil change. Denied a warranty claim on the leather steering wheel material. I'm done with this dealership. No faith in their quality anymore, that they are competent or that they take care of their customers. read more

However, I was informed that the car was properly quality checked because, "John Roberts does not sell bad cars" Unfortunately, the moment I got home with the car and opened the glove compartment box - It fell to the floor! I then notified my salesmen and received this response, " Please accept my apologies for the glove box issue. I assure you I had no knowledge of it. I know you may not believe that but I didn't know about it. We inspect all of our pre-owned and make sure they are in the best condition possible but things do get overlooked" Overlooked? They even worked to get me the best interest rate possible by going with a local credit union over Toyota Financial. We recently purchased from John Roberts and received wonderful customer service. Debbie was delightful to work with and quick to respond to my questions and requests. I highly recommend her if you are car shopping. (Though admittedly new to car sales, she will find out the answers to questions she isn't able to answer immediately). She was happy to make plans to stay late so we could make a long trip to check out the car we were interested in after work. And when traffic made us 30 minutes late for our appointment, she was quick to express her understanding and was nothing but kind about it. Although this will be about a 2 hour drive to get to, we intend to continue at this Toyota Dealership for service as well.
