After I picked my jaw up from the floor, I asked the owner if my estimate could delineate parts vs labor. He then proceeds to double talk me about "there is alot more involved than parts and labor" umm wat? He continues on that he has to buy gas, pay for insurance, 401k, workmans comp, a warehouse. Basically giving me the "no man in the house hustle". I call a competitor, independent diagnosis of flue sensor, gets part (that was like 100 bucks) and I have hot water again. Concerned about the condensate pump Smith said I needed, I asked the honest repair man and he laughed because IT WASN'T EVEN A PART OF MY SYSTEM anymore and had been bypassed. So instead of 1600 dollars, I paid 500 dollars. I know that at the end of the day Smith would have restored my hot water, but he was absolutely taking advantage of me. As a single parent, every dollar counts and 1100 dollars is a big deal for us. He was absolutely ready to take food off my table. So in closing, the five star rating is probably because most people dont know their ass from their elbow and blindly trust that a company isnt out to soak you. This is your fair warning. If you do call them, save yourself money and get a second opinion like I did. ​

I met with Grossman to swap out a toilet & the water controls in a shower (non-emergency service call). Matt came to my house to provide an estimate. We scheduled a time for him to return a few days later (11/2020). They came and they did a good job. There were no economic surprises. They cleaned up their mess and everything works fine. I've attached a picture of his neat workmanship of the shower cartridge (hidden behind the wall). IMO, he did a good job & I will be using Grossman again.

Because it was late in the night and the nature of the work, they had promised us they would come first thing in the morning. Fast forward to the following morning day: they came exactly at the time they'd promised and got the job done at the time they'd estimated. They also walked me through what work needed to be done (i.e. upgrading the existing exhaust to the chimney as ours is not up to code, replacing x valve, etc...), which was nice and assuring. I had an extremely pleasurable experience using this vendor and will definitely contact them again for future work!

Scheduled AC maintenance a month ago, specifically timed before I close (selling - what's the point if I'm no longer the owner). At 2:51pm, day before 8-12pm appt next day, I get a message they need to reschedule. They could only do day before my closing (too late), then promises me they'll call back. They don't. I had to call several times, then at one point "Brock" told me I've been rescheduled 3 days after my closing (?!?) and then finally tells me he can schedule me next day (miraculously) - basically got back my original appointment. To make long story short, after several calls day-of to get tighter window, dispatcher calls at 1pm to ask what exactly I need - it's maintenance! Like I already told Brock!! She then tells me nobody's coming - had me wait for over half a day. Unbelievable. And clearly, Brock put me back to my orig appt just to shut me up I guess. Because no maintenance for me. Nice job, people. If timing wasn't an issue, perhaps I could have rolled with this. Been a customer for close to 25 years! Never had this happen. NOT RECOMMENDED
