I remembered this local place that allowed you to drive up for on-the-spot repair and they work on your tire(s) while you wait in your car, so I decided to give them a try and I'm really glad I did. When I arrived there were a couple of cars ahead of me, which wasn't a big deal since this place is similar to a drive-thru you allowing you to conveniently wait your turn in your car. They work pretty quickly here and before I knew it I'm pulling forward to get my tire looked at. The mechanic was friendly, respectful, and took the time to listen to what was going on with my tire. He quickly got the tire off, diagnosed the problem, and explained what needed to be done in plain language. The problem was with the valve stem, which had a leak. The mechanic got right to work making the repair and explaining to me what he was doing. The work was done efficiently and correctly, and he made sure everything was explained to my satisfaction. There was no pressure, no upselling, and no runaround; just honest work and solid service. Oh, and the cost of this repair was less than 25 bucks! I couldn't believe I received this much service and such great work at this price point. What makes this place stand out to me is the customer service from all of the staff, but in particular the mechanics themselves that are actually working on your car. Usually, the people working on your car are hidden in a garage somewhere while you wait in a waiting room, so you never actually meet the mechanic working on your car. At Mac's you are up close and personal to the mechanic. That's a huge plus in my book. You can tell this is a local business that actually cares about its reputation and all of the customers coming there. It's the kind of shop where they remember you, talk to you with respect, and make sure you leave satisfied. If you're tired of chain shops and want to support a local business that does quality work and treats customers right, this is the place to go. They earned my trust, and I'll definitely be back for future tire and service needs. Highly recommended!

I had to take it to the nearest open repair shop and pay again for front brake repairs to make the car drivable again. I later learned Capitol Hill Auto had used aftermarket parts without telling me or identifying that on the invoice. I asked them to reimburse the front brake portion of the original repair, and after one defensive response, they stopped replying. I would not trust them with repairs again. Update: Capitol Hill Auto ultimately reimbursed me for the front brake portion of the original repair after multiple follow-ups and filing an official consumer complaint. I appreciate that they eventually did so. Given the circumstances and the amount of effort required to get a resolution, I still would not return.

Who pays $80 for a used tire AND I've gotten used tires from them before for less? After being there for an hour, the "manager" said $70...I said fine to get out of there. However, I hope the $70 was worth it because we've spent alot more than that there and it was the last. Too many tire places, to get ripped off by one. Hope you're better to your next customer.
