Here is my experience. Order taker - female: "What's your order? Me: "Italian beef sandwich add cheese. Mild and Hot Giardinarra on the side." Order taker: "What? I can't hear you?" Me: "Italian beef sandwich add cheese. Sweet and Hot Giardinarra on the side." Order taker: "We have 4 kinds of peppers. " Me: "I only want Mild and Hot Giardinarra on the side." Me...Drive around & get to window after 10 minutes of waiting. New lady: "What was your order?" Me: "I feel like I am in the Ground Hog's Day movie." "Italian beef sandwich add cheese. Mild and Hot Giardinarra on the side." New lady: "You want a sausage sandwich?" Me: "No...I do not want sausage. Why would you think I want sausage?" New Lady: "We were not sure cause you said you wanted sweet peppers." Me: "No...I want Italian beef sandwich add cheese. Mild and Hot Giardinarra on the side. I accidentally said the word sweet instead of mild. I then corrected it twice with the order taker person. I said nothing about sausage." She leaves. Manager comes to window. (If you are the owner, the manager was a brown haired skinny, male.) "What's your order?" Me: "Are you kidding me? I am not sure what is happening but are you smart? Because I would really just love to place my order with someone smart and get out of here. Italian beef sandwich add cheese. Mild and Hot Giardinarra on the side." Manager: "Ma'am you're rude. I am not going to serve you." Me: "Are you kidding me? Why am I rude? Do you actually know what I have been through trying to place an order with you?" Manager: "Well. You were rude because you asked if I was smart. I am the manager and I can do whatever I want and I don't want to serve you." Me: "I just wanted someone smart so I can pay you and get my order correct and get out of here. Manager: "I don't care. I don' have to serve you." said in the energy of woke teenager who would rather send me away instead of taking any responsibility for staff's errors." Me: "I am now laughing because you, the manager have now cost your company a few thousand dollars a year because I cater a few parties a year and have will never use Johnny K's again." Thanks! So, dear owners... good luck with the not very bright people you have hired to work there. Date and time of order: 1.6.2023 around 7:30 pm. If you are going to look up who I am ... the name on Yelp won't match to your catering orders for the last 2 years. You will have to look up the large orders and track down who I am. I always double check to make sure the owners see my reviews. Just a little thing i do to show my appreciation on their business. I couldn't be more appalled that my review didn't show up on this yelp account. They claim it's supposed to help business but what are people supposed to think when there are only 3 reviews posted (2 bad) and 9 or so "filtered" which are good? All the other business in the area have good reviews and not to mention some look out of the ordinary but still got posted. I love this place. They have the best chicago style food around and brought chicago style food to this area almost 10 years ago. Everyone else seems to be just starting. An iconic restaurant right smack in the middle of route 34 in Sandwich. You step inside the place and it's a throwback to better times. Tons of memorabilia in glass cases and on the wall. A true testament to the joy of food. The service was quick and I ordered Italian beef, fries, gyro, and a pop. The fries were fresh from actual potatoes and simply delicious. They actually cut the potato's there. No better way and not frozen. Italian beef is freakin awesome and had mozz on it and that pepper stuff. don't have to go to Chicago for Chicago food in Sandwich. Next time I'm getting the hotdogs as they got Vienna beef and that's the best of the best. I have never seen a Johnny K's before. We decided to stop here. It was good, not crazy good though. I ordered a Greek gyro & a hot dog with ketchup & relish. The gyro meat was good. I think I can make better tzatziki sauce. I enjoyed the red onions rather than white onions on it also. The tomatoes were a little mushy. My main problem was the relish on the hot dog. It smelled like relish but it was bright teal! I've never seen relish that color before. I threw it away. I'm regretting not taking a photo, it was nasty. About an hour later, I had a horrible stomachache. I thought the lamb meat was going to make me sick. Thankfully, it didn't but I was in a lot of pain. ive never been here but I want to try it. it looks really good. I don't know why there are so many 1-star reviews. I haven't been here yet but I just know that this place is fire. a lot of people are saying that their food was drenched in sauce and it was disgusting. be creative with that next time. take a wrapper and take some of the sauce off. I also see people saying that the food is overpriced. things are overpriced for a reason. makeup and purses are way overpriced, yet you don't see me in any business telling them that their products are too overpriced. go tell that to balenciaga. their products suck and are overpriced. once again, never been here but I won't agree with the reviews :) read more

Johnny K's has never disappointed me. My favorite is their hand-cut fries!! Just recently I was in the market for some catering for the women's retreat at our church. I heard that Johnny K's did catering and being that their prices were much cheaper than Rosati's or Maciano's, I decided to order from them. WOW! I was very impressed! Their Italian Beef is deeeeeelicious and the Chopped Salad was amazing also. Everyone was very happy that I decided to go with them...Another thing that makes or brakes a business is their service and I have to say that Johnny K's employees are very friendly! The girlfriend and I stopped here for dinner one night before a movie. I had the Godfather, and she had a gyros sandwich. The godfather was really good; the garlic bread was a great touch to the italian beef. She said her gyros sandwich was terrific. I also had cheese fries, which were probably the best fresh cuts I ever had. After dinner we split a turtle sundae. It was reallyy good. The only problem was that we could barely move, good thing the theater is only fifty feet away. Overall we were impressed with the decor and the food...will def be back for more. read more

My sister brought my daughter in there to get ice cream and was greeted by nothing but dirty looks, Employees kept walking past her and wouldn't take her order. Finally a manager came up and had asked them to leave because one of the employees "didn't like" my sister. All she wanted to do was get an ice cream cone for my daughter and had to deal with cops being called and now being banned from the restuarant just because an employee didnt like her. I was hesitant about going there because of the reviews it has gotten. I say other than the person who said amazing fries on the review everyone else is crazy! I enjoyed this place last time i was there so much i brought my whole family there. There was 12 people in our group and we all ordered food which was amazing. Then they brought around little ice cream cones for everyone to have as a little treat after our food was finished. I would recommend this place to everyone! read more

Love this place best almond joy ice cream we have ever had! My daughter who is 6 loves the Cuban sandwich my hubby loves the Italian beef.
