I've dined numerous times at their Bay Area locations and they're always served up delicious/50-diner-style fast food. Unfortunately, not all Johnny Rockets are made the same. My burger + fries cost me over $14; took 15 minutes to arrive; and the meat was lukewarm and smothered in mustard/ketchup/mayo. I've had better burgers at other fast-food joints (eg McDonald's, Wendy's, In 'N Out, etc.). On a plus side, the fries were decent. I was honestly surprised when I saw the conversion in to USD. My shake was ~$11 but it was the best thing we had. The chicken tenders was ripped apart when we go it and it was cold. It was rough and overfried. The smokehouse burger also didnt taste that good. You have to wait a long time to get the food because there aren't that many people working and a lot of customers. McDonald's is premium fast food in comparison to this establishment and, honestly, comparing the two should be insulting to the Golden Arches. We spent around $15 on a burger, onion rings, and a hotdog. There were literally just 4 onion rings in our order -- the only thing delicious, but ridiculously few. As for the burger, I wouldn't go so far as to call the patty meat "mystery meat", but the burger did taste weird. The hot dog was drenched in what tastes like canned nacho cheese. I've never had Jonny Rockets in the states, but I have to admit that now that I've tried it here... I really have no interest ever trying Jonny Rockets again. Not only is this place ridiculously priced even for airport food but I witnessed them reusing ketchup packets from tables. While standing waiting for our 18 dollar hamburger and fries the lady that was cleaning the tables brought roughly 10 ketchup packets up to the guy at the counter and he proceeded to dump them into the container they were pulling from. I asked him if they were really going to reuse them and he responded with yes because they spray them with sanitizer. I responded with "are you kidding me?" He then ignored me and went about his business. Needless to say we passed on the ketchup packets and will never patronize another Johnny Rockets anywhere. My mind was absolutely blown. Well I surely didn't get food poisoning like some of the other individuals who ate here however the burgers are nothing blow your mind amazing. Neither are the fries nor onion rings. However, after you eat tacos, salsa and copious Mexican food during the week it is a bit of a welcome reprise. We ordered three burgers some fries onion rings and drinks and it was around $36. You place your order at one end and wait in a big group of people as they yell out order numbers. We were on our way back home from a relaxing stay in Cancun. Airport food is airport food, overpriced and greasy, so our standards were definitely not too high. I honestly have to say this was the worst cheeseburger I have ever eaten in my life. The patty was so over processed and thick that I couldn't eat more than a few bites. Other fast food places seem like gourmet dining in comparison. My wife's burger actually had a hair in the middle of her patty which means it was in there while being grilled (or reheated). One star due to poor quality and poor cleanliness. There aren't many other choices in Cancun airport, but we ended up buying a second lunch at Dominos and threw out our burgers. Wow wow wow!!! I can't believe this place is still in business and even more amazing is that they usually hold good real estate in major shopping areas. Im a HUGE burger lover and I've never eaten here for some reason but now I see why. I actually thought this was a good ole all American handmade patty burger spot. Boy was I WRONG!!! It's an overpriced less than public school lunch burger that should probably be free. I actually used to love burger day in school... i don't know if the food poisoning is to come.
