I ordered the route 66 burger, double, and wow it was impressive! Serious Swiss and mushrooms. I got the salad it on the side for two boxes, and That was an even bigger surprise. Great mix of Romaine and frisée, super fresh, with generous tomatoes and cheese :-). Basically one of the better side salads you get at a joint of this sort. Walking around the National Harbour Outlet, food choices are scarce. Restaurant was fairly crowded. We were seated right away. We had to wait quite a bit to receive our menus and to put in any kind of order. Once we were able to put in our orders all our food came out separately. I'm not entirely sure if they did that because it was busy or that's just how it happened. The food was ok. Nothing to rave about. But we were hungry. Would we come back here? Probably not. The Guy and I came in to Johnny Rockets after seeing a couple of films. We were in the mood for burgers, so why not. When we went in it was a Saturday night. The location at the National Harbor was virtually empty. We were seated right away and the music from the jukebox put is right where we wanted to be. I will say that this location does not have a lot of seating, so be very cautious of the time you choose to go. However, we were greeted by a nice young lady and shown to our table. I ordered the Rocket single and the Guy ordered the Bacon Cheddar Double. We both ordered fries. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger and fries and so did he. Oh and he also ordered a strawberry milkshake. The food was fine. BUT the service was horrible. We came in during a somewhat busy time, but nothing that seemed out of the ordinary. We ordered our drinks and the sodas came out right away. The milkshake, didn't. We didn't receive it till we were about to pay the check. We were told after we order sides of French Fries their fryers were broken. No big deal since they said they would take it off of our receipt. We received the check and to our surprise there were 3 French Fry orders on our check. Instead of taking off the orders, they gave us a 10% discount. That 10% discount didn't even cover what the French Fries cost. We brought it up to our server and she said, "yeah, we gave you 10% off. Is that not enough?". Which I replied it didn't even cover the 3 orders. So she took it back and gave us 15% which barely covered the order of Fries. They tried sneaking in the fact they didn't take the French Fries off our order. Our experience here was horrible and the fact the server tried hiding the charges for the French Fries felt dishonest. My fiance and I stopped by after a day shopping in the outlets, it was in the area and we were hungry! I have to say this is one of the better Johnny Rockets that we have been to. The Pros of this location are it was kind of clean, the food came out fast and the manager actually seemed engaged in helping everyone out. The Cons, our server did not check back until my last bite of food because she was to busy on her phone, at least if you are going to be on your phone do it in the back not in front of me. The bathroom was also filthy, no one wants to walk into a restaurant and use a dirty bathroom, that only makes me think how the kitchen is and if they are at least keeping that area clean. Maybe if the employee spends less time on her phone she can help clean the bathroom? Not sure but overall the food was pretty good. read more

Overall, Johnny Rockets is a great place to dine! I was surprised that there was one at the new Tanger Outlet in the National Harbor area. I was even more surprised that this was the only sit-in restaurant at the outlet. So, because of that, there was a LONG line of customers waiting to be seated. Had this been known, I would hope that JR would have gotten a bigger space. Once my fiance and I were seated, good times were happening! The food was awesome! Waitservice was awesome! Just hated that little pressure that we couldn't really sit and enjoy to our liking because we could see all those customers in line waiting to be seated with puppy eyes. Tip for everyone: go during the week and not during peak hours. Avoid going there during the weekends! Otherwise, be prepared to wait in a long line. read more

Orlando was an amazingly courteous and thoughtful waiter who seems to have fun as he works hard like a true professional. He was personable and helpful. This past Sunday, my daughter and I enjoyed a quick meal at this location. When we first arrived, we didn't think we were going to get seating for quite a while. However, it only took maybe 10 minutes to get seating at the 'bar.' I had a veggie burger and was very pleased with it except for the 2x mustard that normally comes on burgers. We ordered chili fries and it didn't come out until after our food came and when it came, it was cold... He tried to avoid us by running around although there were maybe 3-4 tables. They didn't have balsamic vinegarrate and last time they didn't either. So I think they should take it off the menu if they consistently won't have it. This was interesting. I stopped in here on 9-16-2018 for a late lunch with a colleague. We ended up sitting at the counter because the place was packed, which was a good sign to me. Our server was "Jackie." I ordered the double bacon cheddar burger (but with American cheese) without onion and easy on the special sauce, a side salad with Ranch dressing (which the menu said "unlimited" or something to that affect) and lemonade. It wasn't long before the food came out, just as I had ordered. The burger was huge, cooked just perfectly and tasted as good as it looked. It was juicy, but not sloppy. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and firm. The side salad was a basic side salad, nothing fancy. It was a nice size salad which I ate first. It was so good that I requested another one, since that's what the menu stated. Well, that's when "Orlando" tells me that there is no refills on the salad and that it only applies to the French fries. Now, I'm not a wallflower by any means, so I ask him to give me the menu so that I can read it to him and explain to him what it means. NOTE: I'm getting my second salad which is why I ordered salad in the first place was to eat at least two of them. Well, he wasn't budging, so I explained to him that he needed to send the manager over, who was named Olivia. She didn't hesitate one minute and interpreted the menu just like I did. I got the second salad. Orlando got an education on how to read. I wonder how many other customers he has denied a second salad all because he didn't understand the menu and hadn't asked for clarification when as customer questioned him. The lemonade was good too. I had two glasses while there, along with a glass of water. Jackie even gave me a to-go cup of lemonade. Very considerate. Stopped here for a quick bite on a Friday. I'm literally still dreaming about the Chili dog as I type this .... sigh. Had dinner reservations a little later so just wanted to get something small & quick but what I was not expecting was a 9inch hot dog lol. I think that was the first I got full off a single hot dog. & boy was it good! They have a decent size menu. The operation is very disorganized, with only 2 chefs who cook very slowly, and 7 wait staff who stand around. It was during the lunch hour so yes there were a lot of people but the service was unacceptably slow. We were told we would only have to wait 15 minutes that turned to 1 hour 10 minutes. Although it was a busy weekend, we were quickly served and our orders were dropped by our table shortly after. I'm not a huge fan of their metal baskets for holding the food because even with a wrapper under it can still get messy/wet. I would've much preferred plates or even plastic trays/baskets. They need better management or supervision. Movement from employees is too slow. The servers need to be more attentive to who walks in the door. The supervisor wasn't too friendly neither. Food is just ok, but the service is always pretty terrible. I've been there on several occasions as the food options in the outlet are bleak, during both slow and busy hours. Every time you're left waiting even at the front counter and absolutely no one acknowledges you despite being fully staffed. They're so many of them walking past and even coming up to the register where I'm standing and no one says hi. Today was no different. They were moderately busy and I waited at the register to pay for my pick up order. A few of the staff walked right up to the register talking to themselves and processed other orders without even looking at me. They also moved pretty quickly so before I could get their attention, they were already gone. Meanwhile, I could see my food sitting on the side getting cold. Finally, the manger walks up to the counter, still not acknowledging the people waiting. After several minutes of shuffling through things, he looks at me and says "Yes"? with an attitude. I told him what I ordered and that I worked in the mall. He gives me my food, which is freezing by now, and my fries were missing. I pointed this out and he dumps the fries in the bag also with an attitude. He then swipes my card without giving me a total and walks away without giving me a receipt.
