    Tacos!

This is a vibe type of spot! If it's your vibe it's a 5 star. If it's not your vibe I understand that too. This is a very casual down to earth spot with strong drinks and cheap food. Everyday of the week there's something going on as far as specials or entertainment. Liz at the bar earns every dollar she makes. Idk how she does it. I've been a few times now for taco Tuesday and she is always on it when it comes to getting you and everyone else what they need. On taco Tuesday, there re $1.50 tacos and hh drinks ranging from $3.95-$7.95. Now let's be clear, don't come in here looking for anything fancy or extra. The tacos are hard-shell corn tortillas and come with beef, cheese, and lettuce. They throw some salsa and sour cream on the side for you. I usually order 5. There's also a DJ starting at 6pm and he plays all the line dancing music and it it a VIBE!

Food and drinks are always excellent . Service can be slow on weekends due to sort bartending staff. Drinks are strong and music keeps going all night long.

We've been here a few times and have enjoyed quite a few good meals, so I'm not sure why I'm just now drafting a review. *smacks forehead* Anywho, here's what we had during our most recent visit: **HONEY GARLIC WINGS **GARLIC PARMESAN WINGS **FRIED CATFISH **SIDES: MACARONI AND CHEESE + POTATO SALAD + GREENS + COLE SLAW **CRAB CAKES (fiancée) As always, everything is flavorful and delicious. The price points are fair and the service is good. No matter what else we order, wings are always on the menu. They have several seasoning and dipping sauce options, so that leaves lots of room to mix it up and try different things. Will add more pics the next time we go, which I'm sure will be soon. NOTES: The building houses a liquor store, a deli, and a bar/tavern all in one. This place is always busy, and full of regular patrons. Depending on the time of day, the parking lot will be jam-packed. __ I eat. @f.hux I thrift. @DCthriftish

Oh Sunnybrook! I live so close, but never stopped by the restaurant, only have shopped at the liquor store. What a hole in the wall gem. The atmosphere is very friendly and lively. The people are chill and just want to socialize and listen to music. Lizzie is a great bartender and ensures that you get what you ask for. The drinks are good, just make sure to get top shelf as the rail drinks aren't the best. I also would stick to a general drink versus trying to get a specialty cocktail. The wings were decent, but needs some more seasoning. Overall, we had a good time. Just make sure to come before 10 as we were surprised that the kitchen was closed up on arrival (got the wings later after chatting with the bartender). You can tell that mostly regulars go here and that totally fine. Don't be afraid to just jump right in, sit at the bar, and meet some locals.

It started out pretty decent with the waitress being attentive then she was talking to one of her co-workers as I was trying to get her attention. No big deal after while although I wanted to l let her know that wasn't good customer service especially when customers can see you, but anywho... The food was pretty good and the happy hour is good minus the fact that some of the drinks that my friend and I wanted to try they did not have at least 2 of them. I ordered a drink and I guess the bartender never made it so I asked her to cancel the drink after 10-15 mins. This was also during the time she was talking in the corner with the coworker. The food and drinks were good. I would go back and since this is an happy hour event that attends frequently. It has potential and I just hope for better service next time although it wasn't horrible. I would like to try the drinks they didn't have and get my drinks on time.

How did I not know TAP Sports Bar existed?…read more TAP is basically what happens when a stadium, a fryer, and a casino have a baby; loud, chaotic, and somehow exactly what you needed. I was fully invested in the Duke game because if they won, my bestie would be back in DC. So yes, I was out here cheering for the Boozer brothers like I was trying to get their mama a plane ticket. Not wanting to deal with the National Harbor side, my friend suggested TAP and honestly, clutch move. The struggle: a 30-45 minute wait for a table. The plot twist: the to‑go line was just as long, and they'll shut it down if the kitchen gets overwhelmed. But it was available. The pivot: the outdoor area was wide open. No bar, no servers, no crowd, just sunshine and empty plush seating and tables. So outside it is. This worked perfectly because we both weren't drinking! We ordered at the bar, grabbed our food, and watched the game outside like VIPs who chose peace over chaos. Inside: TVs everywhere, sports blasting, people yelling at screens like the players owed them money. It's chaotic in the best possible way. Service was friendly but slow but still, the staff somehow kept the whole place running like a well‑oiled machine in the middle of a sports‑fueled tornado. Final verdict: Come hungry, come casual, and come patient. TAP is fun, filling, and exactly the kind of place you go when you want comfort food with zero pretension. Now... let's get into it! I went straight for the TAP Burger, as any self‑respecting burger monster would. And honestly? It understood the assignment. Juicy, messy (in a sexy way), and stacked like it's trying to win a televised food competition. The fries were crispy little overachievers, especially impressive considering they were trapped in a plastic container. No pics because to go food isn't picture worthy out of the containers. Highly recommend. This is officially my new spot for all things sports. Plus, free parking. A no‑brainer. Find me here on game days! Perfect outdoor place to be!

Just a heads up if you're bringing anyone younger, you have to pass through security to get in, and it's strictly 21 and up. Food-wise, the blackened salmon is the star of the menu, hands down. It came out cooked perfectly every time, and the vegetables and mashed potatoes on the side were well prepared and complemented the dish nicely. The wings are solid too, a reliable choice if you're settling in to watch a game. I did try the chicken strips and found the breading a bit heavy for my taste, so I'd steer toward the wings or salmon instead. I also tried the apple tart for dessert, which was good but not perfect. The bread was on the thicker side and a little overcooked, so there's room for improvement there. Pricing is in line with other casual dining spots in the area, nothing outrageous for what you get. Overall, Tap delivers a fun sports bar experience with a menu that mostly hits the mark, especially if you stick with the salmon or wings. I'll definitely be back for the next big game.

"Grandparents Recovery Mode Activated... and Succotash Delivered."…read more July 28, 2026 -- the granddaughters had just left, the house was quiet, and I knew exactly what we needed: a grandparents recovery dinner. Something with great food, great drinks, and great ambiance. After checking a few places, Succotash at National Harbor fit the bill perfectly -- close, reliable, and unforgettable on our last visit. I told Tiffany to dress sexy and comfortable because we were going somewhere special. She immediately activated her detective mode -- no training, just natural talent -- asking me the same question in ten different ways trying to crack the surprise. But when we pulled up to Succotash, her eyes said everything:I did good. The Welcome Inside, we were greeted by Ellis, who had the kind of warm, inviting smile that makes you feel like you're walking into a friend's home. She asked if it was a special occasion, and I proudly said,"Yes -- I'm taking this beautiful woman out for date night." Ellis promised us a great table. The first one wasn't our vibe, and she happily moved us to one we loved. That's hospitality done right. Then Chen V., our waitress, arrived with great energy, menu suggestions, and the confidence of someone who knows the food is going to blow your mind. Starters & Drinks We began with the All the Bites platter: Deviled eggs (three kinds!) Crispy Korean Cauliflower Fried pickles As Chen walked away, I read the description for Jamie's Cornbread with hot honey-brown butter and immediately called her back. My mouth was already watering. The Entrées Tiffany ordered Shrimp & Grits, her forever favorite.I ordered Crispy Blue Catfish with Collard Greens, my forever favorite. The starters arrived with five‑star presentation -- and the taste matched it.We both agreed: All the Bites and the Cornbread were outstanding. Tiffany's Shrimp & Grits came out beautifully. She loved it -- shrimp cooked perfectly -- though she could've used a little more seasoning. My catfish?Outstanding.Crispy, flavorful, beautifully plated. The collard greens cooked with smoked turkey were perfect. And what I thought was thinly sliced lettuce turned out to be one of the best slaws/coleslaws I've ever had. The Cornbread That Stole the Show The cornbread with hot honey-brown butter melted in my mouth like it had been waiting its whole life for this moment.Sweet, buttery, warm -- the kind of cornbread that makes you close your eyes and rethink your priorities. Succotash was hitting every note. ‍ A Visit from the Manager The manager -- they called him AB -- stopped by to check on us.Great touch.Great timing.Great service. Dessert Drama Everyone knows I'm a dessert guy.I studied the menu like it was a final exam and chose the Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie, with Chen backing me up on adding vanilla ice cream. She packed our leftovers and brought the pie.It looked scrumptious...But to my horror, it wasn't warm. Now, I didn't ask for it warm -- but when you add ice cream, you assume warmth is part of the deal.Cold pie + melting ice cream = dessert confusion. I still ate most of it (I'm dessert crazy), but it wasn't the ending I dreamed of. Final Verdict Even with the cold‑pie plot twist, the night was outstanding. The food, the staff, the ambiance -- everything was top‑tier.Succotash delivered a perfect surprise date night and a perfect grandparents recovery dinner. We'll be back -- and next time, we're trying the Taste the South family‑style menu.
