What can I say, these guys are a lot of fun. Have been to this auction multiple times, and it's always a good time. Those who are complaining about the owner don't really know him. He comes off brash but he's actually a pretty fair and straightforward guy. There's always cool random stuff that you can find either at the auction or at their mini swap meets that they host when it comes to the auction, the price is always going to be a gamble. As far as the swap meets, I have never had an issue with their pricing. Overall, if you want something to do with, these guys are hosting an auction on a Saturday, go, check them out. read more

This guy is a horrible joke of a man. My mom died in early May. He took a brand new car, over 15 guns. The contract said wed be paid within 21 days, we contacted him and his poor wife, over and over throughout months.. No reply over several months. . We had to threatened contacting the local news, cops, the BBB BEFORE he cut a 3rd check. Do not buy from this guy as most of what you buy is technically stolen! Do not sell either as you will have to fight for what was yours. What your parents set aside for you while these idiots steal from you. I still lose sleep over this. What monsters! read more

ZERO is more accurate!!! i purchased a rifle on April 8th 2023. my credit card was cha on April 10th. over 2 weeks have passed and NO rifle shipped!! I've got nothing but the run around and excuses!!! A part time girl is the shipper supposedly. I was told by Vicki that several other people were ah of me and looking for their items. Vicki also promised to call me back NOT!!! Proxibid.com is a SCA!M!! They've refused to do anything about this situation!!! My FFL emailEd and left a voicemail with all the proper information as soon as I won my auction. I've used his services many time, and asked him on the 8th if he had contacted the seller. Tried calling during operation hours and did not talk to anyone, received a call back or email from Johnny's Auction. Over priced and the owner is arrogant and disrespectful. Went to the "swap meet" they had the other day. Items are over priced and he gets offend if you don't like his over marked up pricing. Also while we were there, a guy apparently stole something for him. He confronts the individual and is cursing up a storm (with kids and family's all around). He ended up punching the guys window and try's to open up the door of the car he was in. Very inappropriate way to react with children present. I understand he needs to protect his business, but call the police or something. He's a large intimidating dude and was just way to aggressive for a business owner. He also owns the antique shop in town. I will not support either of this jackass's business any longer after what I saw this weekend. read more

Unfortunate enough to have bought a firearm from this guy.Incomplete rifle and pitted barrel.His disclosure was a 1.5" paper tag attached to the trigger and covered in fine print.It includes make,model,caliber,year,2 color stickers and the tiny words "no clip" all on a 1.5" tag.He took a picture from 6 feet away and posted it as his disclosure.Even after downloading it and blowing it up you still cant read it. He refused to make good.Not an honest trustworthy person. My suggestion is don`t do business with him unless your bid is 1/3 of its worth because it`s likely it is NOT as described. We installed a sign for them and they wrote us a bad check. Then proceeded to block our business and cell phone numbers so we couldn't get in touch with them about payment. Have talked to some of their workers who said they were also written bad checks. Be careful doing business with these people. They are crooked and will rip you off! read more

I was an online bidder yesterday with Johnny's Auction Services in Rochester, through proxibid. What a waste of time. A friend was present at the auction and I was able to hear from her phone to mine the audio of the auctioneer. What a crack pot. Of all the lots sold yesterday only a mere 4.95% show as sold to online bidders/buyers and those sales are such a small amount that the repetitive online winners are not feasible as to only be limited to so very few and of the same winners over and over. Both the online and present at the auction SHOWN winners truly hint at some shill bidding possibly going on. It is tacky for auction employees to bid on the items of their employer. I have my favorite and LEGIT auction companies I buy from, through a lot of different states so will not waste my time with Johnny's Auction. I truly agree with other's opinions of J.West being arrogant. His videos on facebook are comical and good for a laugh, if a viewer can stomach watching someone so full of himself. Also he is not as knowledgeable as he tries to appear. A joke of an auctioneer. read more

I am really not very happy with the way they are operating their online portion of the auctions. There have been too many instances when I've been in a bidding war only to find out I am bidding against the owner / consignor / or house. They could have just bumped up the starting bid. read more

This is a case of Seller Beware. John has a clause in his contract that if your property is not sold he can do whatever he wants with it. In other words he can sell it at a swap meet or another auction, give it away or throw it out. You receive absolutely nothing on these items. This clause is illegal. According to the law if an item is not sold the consignee (John) is to return the property to you (consignor). He is breaking the law by retaining the items and not paying you when he does sell them. Unfortunately, I used him. When I received my inventory of items sold there were a lot of items not listed. When I brought this to his attention he became very abusive. Finally, I did receive an additional amount (very little for what the items were) and when asked about the rest of the items I got a fluff off - Do not recall the items, there wasn't much (tools) (approx. 350.00 worth) items smelled like smoke (I have since changed my laundry detergent since all of the items had been washed and put in plastic bins or bags prior to John receiving them), or he stated they must have been in a bin, etc. He never said where they were or how much they sold for. I received nothing for over a $1,000. (retail price) of items he had. He picks up your belongings, sorts through them and puts them into two categories. One category for items he will actually sell at the auction and the other one that he intends to put in the swap meet a couple of weeks later, which you will receive absolutely nothing. He is abusive, liar and thief. read more

Johnny's Auction is the best auction house in the Northwest. He is honest and tells you the truth about what is being auctioned. If it has a chip in it, he tells you. He also educates you on antiques. I have visited the majority of the auctions around and Johnny's by far outclasses the rest. I have bought items from him for over 15 years and never have been disappointed in any of my purchases. The prices are fabulous and I have things I would never have dreamed of buying in the stores. I have everything from Lenox horses, clocks, furniture and the list goes on. My house is Johnny's auction. I have some wonderful items and didn't have to pay store prices. At the auction, he is entertaining and keeps you laughing. His auction is a place you want to go to and will not be disappointed. He is one of the few auctioneers that will tell the truth and he is always fair with everyone. The quality of his items far supersedes everyone. The other auctions, I buy for my garage sales.
