Honestly for all the hype this place did not live up to it. First off it's loud and hot so hot you rather be outside when it's 90degrees in august. The staff is friendly and pleasant but not very quick spent more time waiting for our order be taken than eating 55 dollars for 3 adults and toddler not bad but not great the burger was good but had no flavor better off going to five guys for a messy burger that is only slightly above average at least you'll have A/C and not have to wait. Used to go here on a weekly basis, haven't been since covid because the place is so small. I am disabled, they only have 1 disabled parking space, but that's not the worst of it. Not sure what's going on, but the food and atmosphere has really gone down hill, when Johnny had it, it was awesome, but it is totally nasty, everything is covered in dusty grease and the food...well, i've had c-rations that were 10x better. You can change ownership, but don't change the food. As it is, you can gold plate a turd, but it's still a turd, will never be back and will never again recommend the place, it made me look bad in front of out of town visitors. The absolute best and freshest hamburgers in Clarksville! Enjoyed every bite of my triple cheeseburger and fries and onion rings as an appetizer. Family enjoyed their burgers as well. Full strips of bacon and fresh lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and onions made every bite good. Meat was not greasy like some fast food establishments. The honey bun and ice cream was good but, its ice cream on top of a warmed honey bun. I will say the ice cream was not the cheap, basic plain vanilla (it was very good and flavorful) and the honey bun was heated to a perfectly warm and delightful temperature. It was tasty and a "check in the box" for Clarksville fan favorites, but didn't excite me personally. I would definitely eat it again but the delicious fresh and juicy cheeseburgers will be what brings me back - for sure! Quality was superb - food was delicious and no one at our table had a single complaint. Restaurant was very clean and servers extremely nice. I like the cash-only policy. It was nice to give a cash tip to our server. No need for menus, they had their menu on the wall. They keep things simple and do what they do to perfection. Upon reading the mostly positive reviews, we decided to pay this place a visit. Since it's across the street from APSU, it's very convenient if you want to grab a bite to eat. We walked in and sat at the bar, maybe two or three other parties in the entire place. The younger man working there did not look up or disengage his conversation with his attractive patron for a second. The older cook made eye contact with us, which was better than nothing. Since we sat for there for a few mins with no acknowledgement with a party of three we decided to move into the sit down area, thinking we possibly were not following protocol we were unaware of. We sat in the seating area for under 10 mins. Literally as I asked my family to pack up, our server showed up and apologized for the delay. We ordered two large burgers and a fried chicken sandwich. Burgers came out hot. Very large portions. Downside? Completely unseasoned ground beef. Zero flavor, which I have honestly never before experienced :/. Chicken sandwich came out 10-15 mins later as we were getting ready to leave. My wife had to wait about five mins at the register for the staff to return from their break outside in order to pay. Everyone wants to get paid right? *By the way they only take cash* In total, the large portions of meat and fries cannot overcome the lack of urgency and customer service at the moment. Basics: Greeting or acknowledging customers, taking their orders, being available for the register are just plain basics. Lots of room for improvement for sure. read more

After being under the weather for a month (now better) and asking my wife to go out to dinner - - the only place she said "ok" to was Johnny's Big Burger. So I drove there and did a take out order for a double and single bacon cheese burger with 3 orders of fries. Calmly waited 15 minutes and a hot bag arrived at the counter - paid - got home and dug in. These burgers are supreme AAA+ excellent meat that makes you feel good afterwards, not sick like big name fast food joints do. The next day we are still talking to each other about how great our Johnny's take out was. An equal plus is the staff that works at Johnny's - from the cooks who took my order at the counter to the ladies running the table and cash register.
