The food always tastes good. My family and I have had just about everything on the menu. The staff is friendly and personable.

I read a review here where the reviewer mentioned how good the philly cheesesteak was, so I ordered that. It wasn't just bad, it was repulsive. I took one bite, chewed it for a few seconds, then spit it out into my napkin and went to Subway. I cannot recall the last time I ate anything that tasted that bad. Despite eating none of the sandwich, none of the fries and none of my drink, the waitress did not even question it and stuck us with the full bill. I guess they need the money more than I do. Seven of us met at noon for lunch and were quickly seated. The lunch menu is great. Around the table we had country fried steak, liver & onions, catfish filets, and fried shrimp. Locals eat here and visit. Service was EXCELLENT food was pretty good. I had catfish plate lunch and it was very noisy and the breading was very light. Hubby had bacon, egg cheeseburger and patty was a bit overcooked with seasoning on it, fries were good. read more

Had local mostly older clientele. Seemed popular. Food was mediocre. Fish was good, hamburger steak was not. Three small fried squash slices, fries not crispy, small spoon full fried okra. May be lunch portions but very meager. Hamburger frozen patty. Many blame the "home diner" slide into prepared foods due to covid, but their own demise is at hand staying with these short cuts rather than returning to the home style cooking. A good hometown diner with friendly staff and super funny signs and descriptions of food on the menu. All in all about 3.5 stars. I grabbed a burger and the boss grabbed a club sandwich. Her club sandwich was better than the burger. The tables weren't really clean, our server cleaned the table after we sat down and it looked like a family had kids destroy a table near the entrance. The food is sub par for the price, honestly I make the same thing at home but with more flavor, I think you just pay for the funny menu jokes. Everyone working there is super sweet and they all greet you when you walk in. It feels very "hometown " but with the amount of decor on the walls the place is coated in a grease/dust that is sticky on all the frames/signs. The server was friendly, helpful and attentive. She was properly tipped. I do wish you could give less than one star. The chicken was cubed from a pressed block you would find in a deli used for slicing. The inside of the dumplings was a dried-blood color brownish-red. The instant mashed potatoes were not disguised to pretend to be real. Did they use water? The white gravy was paste-tasting because they forgot to cook the flour. Normally I would have balked at the foul coleslaw but it was the best thing there. Is the place run by children or just by adults that do not care? It was shameful. We stopped at this place while on a weekend motorcycle ride. They quickly seated our group of 10 and promptly took care of us. The staff were very friendly and all orders came out correct. I ordered the bacon/egg cheeseburger. How else to make a burger even better but to add a fried egg on top!!! The bacon was thick, crisp and delicious. My side was onion rings, and they were fresh and homemade. All others appeared to be very pleased with their food as well. This place isn't very big, so I would guess it could get busy during rush hours. I definitely recommend it, and we will visit again when in the area. read more

I have passed by this little hole in the wall many times and never got a chance to stop in until recently. I wonder why it took me so long to stop it!? This place is great! It reminds me of little mom and pop places back home. They have a variety of things to choose from and many down home southern fixin's. The hubs and son had the catfish plate while I had the shrimp. Anytime we see okra on the menu we have to order it up so that was one of our sides. All of the items tasted fresh and didn't seem to be sitting under a light just hanging out till someone ordered them. It did seem to take a little longer than normal to receive our food but I'm fine with that as long as when your food arrives it's hot. If you get the chance stop on in I know I'll be back. read more

This restaurant is tucked back off the street, so be ready to miss it and go back. They have cool the not obnoxious country music playing overhead. I liked it! I was welcomed right away, and told to sit wherever I want. Service was immediate. It looked like lots of locals were here, that's always a good sign. I ordered a decaf and they had to make it for me. No hesitation or complaints. I ordered a side of country ham and a side of home fries, thinking it would not be much. Boy was I wrong! See my photo. That slice of ham covered half the plate! The place is clean and the service good. The ham was a little salty, but I realize it is ham, so... my issue not theirs. Overall a great eat! Went here for a lunch date, we both couldn't eat much. The vegetables tasted like old tires, and the chicken strips were some sort of processed meat shapes, flat and cut out with a cookie cutter. You're better off buying food from dollar general read more

My husband and I were driving home from Paris and passed by this cozy little book and decided to stop for lunch. While it looks small on the outside inside is quite spacious. The walls are covered with various fun metal signage paying homage the South and Tennessee. The hostess was quite friendly when we came in saying, "Have a seat where ever you like!" As far as food, I had the French dip with sweet potato fries and my husband had the bbq special (he said it was good!). The French dip was great but the sweet potato fries did not have a lot of flavor. Certainly no reason to put them out to pasture...I'll just get regular fries next time. Service is good but probably would consider it "kinda slow" but if you aren't in a hurry then you won't even notice really. I've had the cheeseburger a couple of times and it's been good each time. I haven't tried much on the menu but the people I have ate here with have liked other things on the menu for sure. I went to the Grille on a Friday night before a football game. I ordered the Chicken Loco and waited over 45 minutes to get it. Instead of the "Chicken Loco" (chicken,rice,cheese) that was advertised on the menu I got some sort of a cold chicken nacho creation that was bathed in queso with soggy chips. Came here for dinner while in town on a fishing trip. Found the place on yelp and drove about 6 miles out of our way to get here and it was well worth it. Great atmosphere, service, and price. The decor was super cute with signage of all types. I normally don't order Mac and cheese at restaurants but this was like homemade. Visiting LBL, Murray State U & Fort Donelson and found this spot on Yelp. What a treat: local diner with real (ie not foo-foo) down home cooking. No masks required but noted servers sprayed & wiped down table & chairs after use and shakers removed & wiped. Hit the meat & 2 sides lunch menu with the hubs, getting coleslaw & okra as sides for his hamburger steak (with sautéed onions & cheese) and my catfish. Food is cooked to order so if you want food in less than 10 minutes: drive on...and miss out. Hamburger was loose meat obviously made right before hitting flattop and catfish had very light cornmeal breading before deep frying. Okra may have been from frozen but not heavily coated so actually tasted the okra. Coleslaw was good as well. Two wait staff covered each other's area with beverages (fast food chains need to do this) and bussing/cleaning tables. Didn't give five stars as I prefer a bit spicier coating on catfish but they have hot & taco sauces available (easier to 'add heat' then remove it).
