    Beef braciole

Iv been here for my third time, I had the grilled calamari it melted in my mouth. We also had the artichokes in red sauce and the shrimp in a creamy white sauce all for appetizers. I had the broiled pork chop dinner with sautéed spinach and some broccoli. Yum . My friends had braciole made with hamburger and bacon with a red sauce and rotini noodles they said it was scrumptious.our other friend had a special with mussels and shrimp and pasta he loved it. They ordered a special banana desert with whip cream. I was watching them eat it they couldn't get it in fast enough. They loved it.Our waitress remembered us from the last time we were here.i asked her if I could have the broccoli instead of the potatoes she said I'm sure. The owner came out and said what ever I want he'll make it or switch it out if I want.I can tell you he has all the sauces down one is better than the next. You can't ask for any better service than that. Johnny's Cafe is a small place, we didn't have a problem getting in.I don't think a lot of people know about this place. I think the people think it's just pizza and sandwiches.

I enjoy each meal I have when I order from Johnny's Cafe. My only suggestion is to have patience when you go, this is a small place and sometimes the service is on point and other times it's not. I have never had a bad moment when I go here to eat. I do love their garlic salad dressing as well when I order my salad with my meal. This is a little hidden secret in Fox Lake.

So happy to have finally tried this place! Prices are incredible and service was super fast and accommodating. I had a lovely clam chowder to start and ended up getting the shrimp and broccoli linguini in a tasty garlicky white sauce! Portions are super generous! Will definitely be back.

I love this place! Some weeks I eat there 2 or 3 times. Great food and great prices. The best fettuccine alfredo I have had.

It came with a choice of potato and I went with baked potato. Great combo. I did also order the side salad to start and loved the dressing. I didn't have a drink here but they looked fantastic. Plenty of the other folks at the bar enjoyed some great looking martinis. When in the area I'll make it a point to go here.

Paisano's on Broadway occupies a unique--and important--place in Richmond's dining landscape…read more Credit where it's due: Phil and Karen Gilardi were instrumental in elevating the town beyond pure fast-food dependence. They recognized early that Richmond sits on a corridor of movement--Chicago flowing north toward Lake Geneva, that Midwestern analogue to the Riviera--and made a legitimate attempt to create a stop where people could sit down, slow down, and share a meal. I still remember my first visit, back when Paisano's had maybe five tables. I was seated next to none other than Dan Rostenkowski, then Speaker of the House. That moment captured something about the place: it aspired to be part of a broader, more connected world than Richmond typically experiences. The concept has always been clear--family-style, approachable Italian, positioned as a step above casual dining. And to their credit, they've maintained consistency over the years. That said, the food itself lands squarely in the "acceptable" category. Not offensive, not memorable--reliably mediocre. It satisfies the requirement of a meal without ever quite justifying a detour. Yet here's the reality: within a five-mile radius, Paisano's remains the only place where you can reasonably take someone on a sit-down date without apology. That alone gives it staying power. Paisano's isn't trying to be extraordinary--and it doesn't quite get there. But it filled a vacuum when it arrived, and in many ways, it still does.

We sat at the picnic table to enjoy the day and wait. It was understaffed so it took over 20 minutes but the food was worth the wait. They offered us some peach cobbler for the long wait. That too was amazing. I would highly recommend the Bandit!

The brisket was better than the pork. The only thing I wished was that I wanted it to be more smoky. The barbecue pork was decent, but I would definitely want to try the ribs during the weekend. He was very nice and very accommodating and added in some sweet pickled jalapeños, which were phenomenal. The brisket sandwich was definitely a good hit. Had the coleslaw and mac & cheese...and that was not bad at all!Had a little bit more mayo than expected with a tad of vinegar, which was OK. Overall, it was a very good lunch/dinner. (by the way, I liked the Kansas City better than the Texas but Texas sauce was also very good! They make their own homemade sauce by the way ) Nick was a great conversational piece and they are going to be starting with a food truck pretty soon which is gonna be pretty neat. He does take a lot of pride in his work, and it shows! So I guess keep an eye open for that. Nice job, Nick. I'll give you the next star an update this review once I have your ribs. Is that a Deal? (because I'm a big-time rib guy.) Thanks again Nick!
