This spot was highly recommended and boy was it great. I went with the bone in filet medium. Cooked to perfection and a very tasty cut of meat. The steak was exceptional. That said, the food itself lands squarely in the "acceptable" category. Not offensive, not memorable--reliably mediocre. It satisfies the requirement of a meal without ever quite justifying a detour. So we went for a nice dinner. I have wanted to try the whole time I have lived here. So sad it took so long. It was so delicious. I always wondered what the hype was about now I know. The flavor of my dinner was definitely homemade and something very special not your average Italian. I have to start by saying my wife and I love Paisanos. Always a favorite. AND one of our menu favorites is the grilled octopus. For years it was $18 and the last time we went the price jumped to $31. Bummer. We will still go back for the pasta for sure ... but can't justify paying that much for an appetizer. Would love to know what happened. read more

We love Paisano's! When we are in Wisconsin it is our "go to" restaurant. The food is excellent, the service is great, and the ambiance is like no other restaurant in the area. We celebrate special occasions here and often bring guests to experience the best restaurant in the area. read more

Date of visit: May 20, 2025 Our friend has been a fan of Paisano's for many years, so we were really excited to give them a try, and outside of the service, it was a fantastic meal. Host staff was friendly and led us to a nice table up half a level up that had a nice view of much of the restaurant. The menu was large, with many options--but not too many where it was overwhelming. We had lots of time to look at the menu before we were served. Our waitress was all business--the only time she smiled is when she noticed that our friend had bleu cheese in his salad and he had asked for no bleu cheese... Thankfully the food more than made up for the service. My lobster bisque with puff pastry on top was excellent, even if it was a bit light on the lobster. My lasagna was also wonderful, hot and not lacking in cheese--as any good lasagna should be! My side pasta was a bit meh, but that was just a bonus so I wasn't too worried about it. We used to go to Paisano's often when we lived in Long Grove and always enjoyed it. Now that we are in Glenview it is a bit far but decided to make the trek to meet a friend who lives in Lake Geneva. Food and service were both good but it was too loud to have a conversation. We asked to me moved but the owner told us there was no place in the restaurant that was quiet. We had a party of 10 we called ahead and they seated us as soon as we arrived. We did go early and the service was very good especially with a group who were talking and not paying attention. The food arrived hot and beautifully plated, our friends recommended the sea bass and it was delicious, I ordered the lobster and shrimp Diablo it was spicy and fantastic, next time I'm in town I'm going back for that! I found myself taking a road trip to god's country and mapped out a journey here, on my way home. I recently saw them highlighted by Mario Turano (the bread guy) and took his advice on getting the delicious chicken parm. I guess they also have it with a ribeye. Comes with potatoes or pasta, I went with the spaghetti and meat sauce. The bread is great and can easily fill you up, be careful. I was stuffed,.. but the sweet hostess brought me some of their house made gelato. I usually don't like salted caramel but it was delicious. Orange sherbet cleansed the palate. Wonderful waitress checking in frequently. Has a great feel on the inside of a northwoods lodge, in a historic building. (1846) They've swallowed up 3 other units next door and have al fresco dining too. I guess there's no set closing time, depending on patrons at the bar. Kitchen typically closes at 9pm. read more

We made a reservation for 4 people at 7 pm on a Friday. We made the reservation two days before. When we got to the restaurant it was very busy, but we were seated immediately due to our reservation. Our waitress came over right away and got our drink order. Our drinks took a bit to come out due it obviously being a Friday night. The waitress poured a little wine for my friend and I to taste and then poured us each a glass when we liked it. I ordered the filet - medium and I would say it came out medium rare but I didn't want to send it back so I just dealt with it. My husband got lobster bisque which was delicious BUT NOT FOR $17!!!!! That is outrageous to me. It came with a plume of bread on top which was a cool touch. The gnocchi was good with the vodka cream sauce. My friend ordered chicken parm and said it was yummy but she didn't like the pasta that came with it. My other friend ordered fettuccine Alfredo and said it was very good. Paisano's is great! We've been here several times over the course of a decade and have enjoyed it every time. We've had a lot of their menu, most recently got the sausage rotini and it was incredible! The flavors were explosive and it even had a small kick to it which was a nice touch. My grandparents' favorite thing on the menu is the Broadway shrimp. Pro tip: the rigatoni is all homemade. Our servers were awesome and even suggested some fun tweaks to the menu (baked rigatoni with vodka sauce and sausage). They served fresh bread right up front with olive oil and cheese, and again, that was super delicious. The restaurant itself is themed like Italy and it provides an enjoyable ambiance. I had the Ribeye Parmigiana and it was delicious. My wife had the halibut and it was slightly over cooked. Overall very good.

Paisano's is always great. Fun local crowd and very good food. I be eaten here at least a dozen times in the last year or so. My "go to" is their bone in filet with the spinach and crispy onions. I always get if medium rare with blue cheese crust. Hands down best bone in filet I've ever had including the big Chicago steak houses. Their grilled octopus app is fantastic but this Saturday we had the mussels instead and they were incredible. Also tried the smoked salmon bruschetta. Lilly was our server. Pros: -The restaurant is very charming and they sat us right away with our reservations. -Bread was delicious- served nice and warm. -My Pasta with Broccoli was very good , although the pasta was definitely not Al dente- very mushy, but tasty. -our cocktails came quickly Cons: -After reading about the Lobster Bisque we felt we had to try it. Presentation was pretty cool with the pastry on top. But we are not sure why they call it lobster bisque. Maybe 2 tiny distinguishable pieces of lobster to enjoy. Maybe our expectations were too high but for $17 it was very disappointing. -The veal parmigiana with meat sauce was unlike any we've had at any other Italian restaurant. Usually veal is so tender you can cut it with a fork. This veal was tough and chewy- almost like a pork chop. We are just surprised there are so many great reviews. Went out to dinner last Wednesday with 3 other people and was extremely disappointed especially with the amount of money spent. I ordered chicken marsala with pasta. My chicken tasted good but it was cold. My pasta was also cold and it was watery as if they did not drain the noodles. Another person ordered veal parmesan; the veal was extremely thin, the taste was ok. The veal was served on a bed of noodles ​and they too were not drained and were also watery. 1st visit to Paisano's on Broadway. Was not disappointed. I made reservations on a Saturday night. My wife and I were seated immediately. Nice large restaurant spread out in three rooms. Our waitress took our drink orders shortly after we sat down in our booth. We had the pasta fritta appetizer with my wife picking the Steak Siciliano and I the Prime Rib for our main course. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and pratically melted in your mouth. My wife said her meal was delicious. We had an excellent bottle of Italian Red blend wine along with our dinner. The tiramusu and 7 layer chocolate cake were the perfect finish to the night. We will definitely be back again soon! read more

My wife and I went out to Paisano's to celebrate our 60'th wedding anniversary. Called ahead for reservations and when we got there they said our table wasn't ready. Finally after at least 10 minutes of waiting they led us to a table in a room with a group celebrating a big birthday. We could hardly hear each other or the waiter and it was a bad way to celebrate anything. In all my years I have never had this happen. Kids running around, noise, noise. The food was excellent, and the restaurant itself is very cozy. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively impacted by the service we received from our waitress, which was unprofessional and discourteous. When my husband asked about the daily specials, she replied that everything was sold out, including the mashed potatoes, without actually answering what the specials were. When we requested additional bread for our table of four, she brought a single loaf, placed it on the table, and walked away without a word. Throughout the meal, every question we asked was met with a snippy and dismissive attitude. Based on the level of service provided, I left a tip that I felt was appropriate. However, the waitress returned to our table--twice--to ask for more money. This behavior was extremely unprofessional and unethical. Tips are discretionary and based on service quality; it is never appropriate to confront or pressure a guest for additional gratuity, especially after providing poor service. We dine at this restaurant two to three times a month and have never experienced anything like this before. Sadly, due to this incident, we will not be returning. read more

I don't know where you live, but this is a sign that you NEED to get your butt to Richmond, IL and walk straight into Paisano's. Technically there's two... Paisano's on Broadway and Paisano's Seaside and while I have yet to dine at the latter, I'll vouch for them as well on the mere fact that POB is that fantastic! Sometimes I drive by and they're incredibly packed, but every time I've been we've been seated immediately with only a comfortable buzz of conversation in the air. The restaurant is divided into multiple sections though so I would imagine the sound wouldn't be terrible even on those super busy days. It's a steakhouse, but I've never made it past the soups and pasta because I'm addicted to carbs. The lobster bisque is at the top of my list and it should be on yours too! Chunks of lobster in a creamy base, topped with a flaky biscuit that sound be enjoyed slowly but is always devoured immediately. If you like spicy, the Shrimp and Scallops Diablo will be right up your alley. The first thing I ever ate there was the Gnocchi Vodka Sauce (because carbs) and it has remained in my Top 3 Gnocchi dishes ever since. The usual suspects are there too like Shrimp Scampi and Fettuccine Alfredo which are *chef's kiss* perfection! And they start the meal right with complimentary bread and olive oil which I always mix with a little grated Parmesan cheese. I salivate over the food so much that I can't comment on the drink situation more than saying the drink menu is extensive enough to compliment anything you order. There is also a bar so cocktail options are limitless. The inside feels casually classy. An oxymoron maybe, but once you go you'll understand. For lunch I never feel like I need to be dressed up, but dinner I always try to look a little sharper, although jeans are still totally okay and I don't think they'd say anything even if you weren't dressed to impress (but it's not a suit and tie type of place). The outside has this fun vibe that makes it look as though it's multiple smaller shops and on the very end you'll find Paisano's Seaside. This is a favorite to take guests to because it's delicious eats at a reasonable price (for the quality... which is top notch). And I love it for a casual lunch. They do take reservations for dinner so I'd recommend going that route if you're craving Paisano's at night. read more

Had an unfortunate experience last week. Paisano's has been my fav restaurant for along time. I ALWAYS order the same thing !! A great server there once told me EXACTLY how to order it, "Caesar salad add 2 sides of fried shrimp" ...and i've never had an issue. My server Oteda Z was rude from the jump. Even my bf noticed who is the nicest guy ever!! He never says ANYTHING & he almost told her he hopes she has a better night.. I order my salad exactly the same way & she tried to offer pasta, so I elaborated, explaining I always get the same thing, etc etc... SHE CHARGED ME FOR A DINNER AND A CEASAR SALAD!!! $31 to add shrimp to my salad!!! So my Ceasar Salad w/ Shrimp was $42 More than my bf's bday pork chop dinner ! Plus she didn't offer us cracked pepper.. while offering it to every other table. I've worked in the sevice industry so I am usually extra understanding but she was literally the worst server we have ever had!
