My husband and I went to the Harry Potter experience close by and decided to drop in to The Bandit's Smoke Shack because the reviews were good and the vibe was right for what we were in the mood for. Friends, It did not disappoint! I got the smash burger with cheese and my husband got the smoked brisket tacos. Both were sooooo good! We live over an hour away but if we lived closer, I would be there at least once a week. Prices are great, food/meat is really high quality and fresh and it's all made to order fast. It's a very nice tucked away place and I would definitely give it another shot. I spoke with Nick who was one of the owners, and got talking about barbecuing. The brisket was better than the pork. The only thing I wished was that I wanted it to be more smoky. The barbecue pork was decent, but I would definitely want to try the ribs during the weekend. He was very nice and very accommodating and added in some sweet pickled jalapeños, which were phenomenal. The brisket sandwich was definitely a good hit. Had the coleslaw and mac & cheese...and that was not bad at all!Had a little bit more mayo than expected with a tad of vinegar, which was OK. Overall, it was a very good lunch/dinner. (by the way, I liked the Kansas City better than the Texas but Texas sauce was also very good! They make their own homemade sauce by the way ) Nick was a great conversational piece and they are going to be starting with a food truck pretty soon which is gonna be pretty neat. Food was okay. They were out Mac and cheese, coleslaw and briquet. Only BBQ beans for a side. Food took an hour. 61 minutes to be exact. While we sat in the sun. I ordered a sarsaparilla. The menu said it was Sioux Falls soda. It came in a cup and tasted like tea. Nothing like Sarsaparilla. Wanted to like this place but it's a no for me. read more

Husband has been hearing about this place so we tried this evening. I had chicken, husband had pork, kid had brisket. We covered the gambit. Everything was SO GOOD! The baked beans were the best I've ever had! ​Pickled onions perfect amount of pickle. I ate em by themselves. First thing you see when you look them up is a slab of ribs but when you call them, they tell you they don't make ribs. How disappointing

Best BBQ around the area. You will be so happy you tried it. Most stuff they make is house made. Wish I lived closer, would come here multiple times a week. Smoked chicken was amazing , brisket had great flavor. The sauces were amazing. Wish I could buy a gallon worth of the candied jalapenos. We try to find local businesses whenever we can. Bandits' brisket was amazing! Tender, flavorful and super tasty. The sauces were incredible, especially the mustard sauce. This. Was. So. Good. I had three tacos (brisket, pork and chicken), and the campfire chili and it was all amazing. Very easy to miss from the road - it's on the US-12 frontage road near where US-12 joins with route 59.
