I picked Nampa Fitness for a few reasons…read more 1. NO CONTRACTS!! Almost all the reviews for other gyms in the area have complaints about cancellation fees or being able to stop a contract. I didn't want a contract because I knew I would only need the gym a few months out of the year when it is too cold for me to run in the mornings. The only stipulation is you have to physically go in to the gym and fill out a cancellation form 10 days before they bill you again. I did go in to cancel my membership in December because I hate fighting the first of the year "rush at the gym" and it was easy peasy. Filled out the short form, didn't get the "hard sell" from the staff to try to keep me either. And, wonder of wonders they actually stopped billing me as promised! (Unlike Gold's Gym a few years back who "lost my cancellation paperwork" and blamed me for not having a copy of it). 2. No frills. They have decent equipment & free tanning. I never used the tanning bed but it was nice to have the option. I would have liked if they had a few standard stair steppers and not just the 2 Jacob Ladders machines. Good weight machines, good treadmills, good bikes and elliptical machines (although a couple of those are in pretty rough shape). They don't have classes or classrooms but they do offer personal training. 3. Open 24 hours. Use your code to get in the door. It's that easy. 4. Only $25 a month! Plus tax. The equipment is good, but the facility is cramped and hard to use. The lack of a locker room isn't the end of the world but you can get an actual locker room and a hot shower just down the block at either Crunch or IFF for the same money or less. If bodybuilding is your thing, Whiting fitness offers more advanced training and equipment. If this were the only gym in town, I would be okay with it, but there are better options on the same street, again for the same price or less, so I can't really justify a recommendation.

Tip: be sure you know which location you are signing up for! As for class, I was able to catch a strength class. Stages indoor bikes are used, which was a plus for me. The workout is based off the training regimen for Olympic cyclist Kristin Armstrong. Although I am used to an indoor cycling class that has choreography and varies between hills and flat roads, I thoroughly enjoyed Keith's class!

The facility is state of the art. 3 group rooms for classes, spinning & yoga and additionally a larger weight/cardio area. Everything was clean, well laid out with adequate space. Masking requirements in and out of the facility, with easy to maintain physical distance. Free WiFi, 24-7 access with a key fab to the building. The only deterrent, parking. There's a garage with the 1st hour free ($3/hour after) and street parking on 13th. But it's such a great gym I'm going to figure out the parking situation. Another location near Harris Ranch off of Parkcenter is slated to open this winter sometime. Definitely top notch gym. All amenities, great staff, and quality programming.

I found Ryan and can't believe my luck. Ryan has it all when it comes to personal training. Ryan certainly has the training/certifications, and it shows during our sessions. He has a full understanding of human musculature and knows how to approach every workout set to maximize safety and gain the most benefit. He focuses on making sure you do everything the right way and explains why you're doing everything he shows you to do. He is really organized, keeping a detailed record of your previous sets/reps/weight to help you constantly grow and improve over time. He has a focus on weight management if you seek that, making recommendations on meal plans, use of calorie tracking apps, and just to add that helpful accountability so you can hit your health goals. He also has a massive and still growing exercise equipment inventory which I've frankly never seen before, and he always leverages the right equipment for the next step in your improvement. If you have any physical limitations, which I have a few, Ryan is always aware of them and helps you to work around them, or improve them, depending on your situation.
