Been coming back weekly and food, service, and overall feel of this restaurant has really grown on me. Emily and her trainee Kayla are awesome to say the least. Terrible Manager experience. We ordered a Veggie pizza and due to the amount and size of the toppings, the pizza was flooded when brought out. The crust was wet and sloppy and it basically fell apart. They offered to remake the pizza but by that point our stomachs were turned off. The best they would do was 10% off the one pizza, when I asked to speak to the manager he completely ignored us and never came to speak to us. I ordered dinner for my husband and me. The Philly cheese steak was horrible! The meat was nearly black and dry. The sub was burnt with the ends unable to be chewed. The mozzarella was not even noticeable, and the green peppers were not on the sandwich. The mozzarella on the Caprese Salad was obviously old, as it was rubbery and hard to cut with a fork. Pizza is as good usual. We asked for fries with cheese and bacon since deluxe cheese fries are no longer on the menu and we were told management would not allow them to do it. Really? It was Saturday Feb 21, 2026. We arrived at 6 pm. There was a large crowd in the dining area. We sat in a booth next to the window. My gf and I had jackets on and noticed it was very cold. I mentioned how cold it was to the waitress. She replied they had just got the a/c fixed. I told her it was 60 degrees outside. All the ceiling fans were run at full speed. I asked to have the ones over us turned off. Besides being cold I hate when my food will get cold before I can eat it. Waitress replied they had to stay on due to health reasons. HUH! That's a new one. We moved to a booth that was not under a ceiling fans. Gf ordered a Mediterranean salad, while I ordered a calzone. The salad came out in about 5 minutes. It took another 10 minutes for the calzone to arrive. All this time I could feel the cold air from the a/c on my face. I remarked to my gf that my nose and cheek was cold. The waitress said they didn't have any clean knives, would I mind waiting for a clean one. The calzone is nice size but the bottom of it was hard to cut. Wasn't burnt, but took a steak knife to saw through it. It did taste good, as well as the salad. I've been going here for a few years now, never experienced it being a meat locker. I understand that the cooking area gets hot and the restaurant tries to get cool air there but at what cost to the patrons? read more

The customer service received from Emily is awful. I will not return, I was in the area and wanted to try something different. Once I arrived the staff were just congregating, it took awhile to be acknowledged for a takeout order. Once approached the lady finally acknowledged me and I said I would like to place an order to go and she stated someone else will have to take your order. She then made contact with someone else and told them I wanted to place a to go order and she believed it was for pizza. The lady approached the register and said hi what do you want? I said a medium pizza she then provided the price, swiped card and placed my card and receipt on the counter and walked away. This place won't last much longer. I tried this location twice and both times were a disappointment. My garlic knots were extremely undercook and the dough was basically gewy on the inside. Wings tasted old and I asked for honey hot I just got hot. Last time they forgot to put the sauce on my wings and I had to drive all the way back for a new order. When I called to complain knowing they didn't cook the garlic knots throughly they said they would have a manager call me in the morning. Remarkably having visited the "Big Apple" several times, this was my first experience with New York style Pizza. And while I'm sure Johnny's is a fine example, the thin slightly charred crust ain't my thing. I guess I've been spoiled by too many Pizza Hut hand tossed Pepperoni-Lover's ... that's the Atlanta way. My son and I weren't feeling well on July 20th, so we ordered Johnny's through DoorDash. When our food arrived, our order was wrong. My son ordered the chicken parm dinner but received a chicken parm sub. I called Johnny's and they said we could either: drive over and pick up the correct dish or they could write down my name and number and credit us on our next order. Since the whole purpose of ordering DoorDash was because we didn't feel well enough to leave the house, I opted to have them write down my name and number. I decided to order food again on the 25th and redeem the credit. The gal on the phone said my name wasn't written down in their "book" and they wouldn't honor the credit until the owner called me back. How long is that going to take? She also stated that the order was placed as a sub.... I told her I could send her a copy of my DoorDash order proving that I ordered the dinner, but she said nothing could be done right now and hung up. No idea if the owner is calling me back or what??? So my Advice- if THEY screw up your order, drive your sick self across town the same day. Don't trust they will honor a credit they promised without a huge hassle. Below is my DoorDash receipt- Chicken parm dinners are $12.99, the subs are $8.99. Clearly, it's their screw up. I'll post an update if I ever get a call back with a resolution! We started ordering from the Covington, GA location a few months ago and the pizza was always good. Our recent order placed on 5/8/23 was NOT GOOD! We ordered $70 worth of pizza's. One of them looked like it was cooked the day before and just given to us. My mistake for not looking at the food before leaving the restaurant. We drive more than 30mins to get to this location frequently m Oxford, GA. Every order we have placed has been in excess of $50. I called 5/9/23 and spoke with the manager Jacob, who assured me he would call be back with some type of resolution as of 5/15/23 no one has reached out to me. Not sure what has happened to this place but it has gone down hill. Second time here in the last month, service was extremely slow. Our pizza order came out wrong and burned again. Spaghetti and meatballs came out ice cold. Watched kitchen staff screaming and fighting (verbally) with each other. This was one of our go to lunch places. We have been eating here almost every week since I retired in 2016. The food is still good but we really miss the homemade chips as we would share chips and fries. The last two times we have been here the air conditioning was not working. Today the beer was warm. I try Social Security disability cases at the hearing office just down the street on Eagle Drive, and if my hearings are around lunchtime, Johnny's is my go to spot for lunch. I have been to several other locations and the pizza is almost always consistent and usually very good. This is not a place for high end pies like Antico or Varasano's. Called to place a large order on a Saturday for Saturday night. Though I had hoped that it would be able to be delivered, I was told that wouldn't be possible due to the time I wanted it delivered. A bit later I received a phone call from a manager who was away in Boston. He had heard about our order and wanted to call to let me know that he valued our business and wanted to be a full service restaurant. He had found a way to have our order delivered. The service that we received from Johnny's went above and beyond. Instead of cold pizza like we usually have when we have to pick up, the pizza arrived piping hot in warmers. It was wonderful.
