This restaurant is so funky.pretty inside. It gives a retro, in space kind of vibe. Great decor for a kids birthday or celebration. The restaurant was very busy but also quick to fulfill orders. It took about 15-20 minutes to get a pizza from scratch. The pizza itself though surprisingly was nothing to brag about. It was decorated pretty but tasted to bland. I also didn't get a chance to eat it right away. So, perhaps its better when you consume it hot , fresh and out of the oven. I would have to visit again to determine. read more

I love Mellow Mushroom! Every time I come with friends it's always lively, fast paced and entertaining. It's located by the Honda Dealership in Conyers. A very convenient location since you're about 5-10 minutes away from I-20. Since the location is so convenient and by everything, the wait time can be a tad overwhelming. It's sort of a self-seating pizza spot since crowds can be by the masses. There are plenty of TVs showing the latest sporting game. Definitely a place to catch the game or enjoy a slice of pizza in the middle of the day read more

Expect to be picked on, yelled at, called *itch, or, if you're a young parent, accosted, by two problem customers at the bar who are welcomed by the bartender, stripper name "Asia." These two obnoxious customers have prevented me from taking the last seat at the bar, claiming their friend was on her way. An hour later no friend. This has happened twice. The last time it happened I quietly protested and asked if the seat was available. The husband, a Rockdale County firefighter, stood up, bowed up, and yelled at me to "quit being a bitch." I asked for my check and left, the bartender "Asia" grinning. I am a 64 year old woman. This behavior towards me is inexcusable. Just now, a gentleman with Super Bowl squares offered me the chance to play. The obnoxious customers wife ran over to the guy and prevented me from playing because their friend was coming later and the squares needed to be saved for her. What is this? Mean girls? Roller derby? Obnoxious wife was a flight attendant with a major airline. I wonder why that came to an abrupt end. What Mellow Mushroom needs to understand is that these two obnoxious customers are the bartenders friends, and she permits and even enjoys watching them bully me. I thought the gentleman that took my order was rude. I've always loved Mellow Mushroom and their staff has always been super friendly in the past, but I wasn't pleased with my experience on my last visit. I ordered 2 pizzas for take out. One was a meat lovers and the other was a white pizza. Both pizzas were great. I wanted one of the mix drinks to take back to the house but they aren't doing that now. I liked it during Covid when they would allow you to carry out drinks. My rating would be 5 for the food, 1 for the rude dude who wasn't friendly or helpful when I was placing my order. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because IMHO, a better setup is needed to determine who is waiting to be seated because people were pushing in around me to get on the waiting list. I get they are short-handed but. I was standing there with a cane and my service dog. Given the fact that that someone asked to see the card for my service dog, they saw me standing there and what people were doing. Rather than make an issue, I waited. The last time I went with my kids they said there was a wait but they couldn't tell us how long the wait would be and the place was filthy dirt Tables and floors I assume due to being Short staffed but not what customers want to see when they are going to eat. Just ordered a pizza today. It's usually pretty good, but usually a little dry, so I started asking for extra sauce and that makes it better. I did the same thing today, however, who ever was making the pizzas decided to put triple the amount of sauce anyone should put on a pizza, causing it to be super soggy. It was as if we ordered a lasagna pizza. It was so drenched that the dough didn't fully cook. On top of that, it seemed like they just threw all the toppings and cheese in the center , without trying to spread it evenly throughout the pizza. We ordered pick up both times and the first time I ordered a steak calzone but got a pizza dough stuffed with cheese and something that was not steak. Pizza was good. Service was terrible A lady sat us but didn't give us menus or utensils. We sat there for about 15 minutes when someone stopped by and asked us what we wanted. Still no menus or utensils. Told her we needed menus another 5 minutes later menus but no utensils. She came back took our order still no utensils. Received our food no utensils. Had to flag down another waitress just to get utensils. Worst service ever. Seems like training needs to be taught when seating guests the menus and utensils are apart of their job. Another maybe 7-8 minutes without even being looked at by a server, I walked. Went down the street to Atlanta Pizza. Not my favorite pizza but really really nice people working there. I was seated about 30 seconds after I walked in and had a small Greek salad infant of my in under three minutes. Every time I asked for something, the server said "of course". Friends don't let friends eat bad pizza...Evette The moral of the story is that my friend (a resident of Newton County) was raving about this place...the crust, the fresh ingredients, the flavors and how "those hippies sure make a great tasting pizza!" (In that amazing Georgian accent that I love so much!) So...after meeting up with a (new) friend (met during her time vacationing in Vegas) in Covington, my daughter and I stopped in for a medium cheese pizza, for her and the Enlightened salad with Esperanza dressing (Esperanza is my late moms name and it means HOPE:), for me. My salad was perfect, my daughter really enjoyed the pizza and my friends got to enjoy the remaining slices she couldn't finish. We ordered at the counter and brought the food home to enjoy. Bottom line...it's a great food establishment, the staff were lovely folks, it was busy inside so be patient, I believe you can order online (do it), I tried calling in our order but cell reception was spotty and the employee could barely hear me. I had her on speaker as I was driving **fail**on my part...And lastly, if you check in on Yelp (tell them whilst you're placing the order), you RECEIVE FREE pretzel bites (we call them garlic knots out west)! My cousin ordered for us and when we got there the food was ready. Our food came out really fast. After our food was here we never saw our waitress again. It wasn't super busy. I get they were training a new worker but we waited for our check for 35+ mins Tara our server made eye contact with us multiple times and then continued to walk away from us so we walked up to the counter for our checks and she showed the cashier away. This was our first trip to a Mellow Mushroom location and was pleasantly surprised. We got a large Holy Shiitake Pie and the Loaded Potato Pie (which I guess is a specialty pizza for this location). I wished there was a bit more mushroom on the Holy Shiitake but it was good nonetheless. We ended up getting both thin crust (the Loaded Potato one should have been regular crust, but I think the server got confused). She was nice and attentive, so no complaints on service otherwise. Have you ever had pizza that tasted better as leftovers? Well, for Mellow Mushroom I almost feel like it tasted THAT much better the next day. It was great in the restaurant and we only got to eat two slices before we were full.. but the leftovers were done the next day before I could even get a second slice.
