Got snookered! Got there about 6:30, seated quickly, waitress took drink order. Ordered a XL pizza, (the works) menu had it at $28. When it came out, looked good, but after a few bites it was luke warm in the middle even tho the outside crust looked done. Seemed like it sat in the kitchen for a few minutes. Then I noticed it seemed small for an X-LARGE. Looked up on the wall at the pan sizes. Our pan size seemed more like a large. Called waitress over who called the mgr over. He assured us that was a XL which is 16". Further research found out there is no medium size. Just SM, Large and XL. Asked to see a menu, but was not provided one. Seems like Amici's eliminated the medium and down sized the large and XL. I had added extra toppings to the tune of $6, along with two drinks at $3.50, making the bill $43. Only gave a $3 tip. I use to go here a lot in the past. Unfortunately the Amici's in Conyers, Ga closed which was by far better than the Covington on the square location. read more

Nice little place to sit outside. Onion rings are very good. Pizza is about a 6 or 7 but surely not worth $7 a slice. Not sure why I'm surprised, I've lived here 16 years and this happens every so often at Amicis on the square: it gets so bad you just can't go there. We live just blocks off the square, and love the proximity and the patio. But there's a reason we don't go twice a week anymore, instead twice in the last year. Latest issue was a take-out pizza order. 3 "large" pizzas (there's small, large, XL - so the large is actually deceptively a medium): spinach and cheese, a blonde Greek, and a woodsman. All three had barely any cheese? The crust, comically thin, and they don't do thin crust. And all 3 were waaayyy over cooked. The total after tax and tip (not sure why I did that) was about $80.00. Eighty. Dollars. Little Caesars would have been better for twenty bucks. I'm sad: I like this place and recently was told management had changed for the better. So do better Amicis. read more

Went to the new location in town center for lunch with my little one. I was so disappointed. I thought this could possibly be a place to get something quick to eat. Hmm no. Don't think I'll be returning. Soon as I walked in the place was a complete mess and they didn't clean it up until a group of people had walked on. I ordered a Cesar salad which took a full 15 mins just to come out. But I had notice the large group that came in before me had gotten their salad very promptly. The food here is absolutely delicious and a great menu. However, we have been here several times hoping for a change, and have been repeatedly disappointed with the very slow service- both with the wait staff and the kitchen. It's never been very busy when we have been there and there never seems to be more than one or two wait staff working. Most the time it's the bartender also waiting tables even when it does start to get a little busy. The kitchen is extremely slow, and could definitely use some extra hands in there. We have even seen a waitress or possible manager with her kids at work with her, going in and out of the kitchen. Kids do not belong in the kitchen. Please hire extra staff! read more

Hubby went last Sunday after church wth 11 ppl. He brought me home the Chicken Philly Sandwich wth French Fries. It was EXCELLENT! So refreshing to finally get food that serves quality well cooked food. The chicken was seasoned and grilled to perfection. The veggies of mushrooms, onions & peppers were crispy, yet tender. And the bread was extremely soft and warm. I had half on Sunday and ate leftover on Monday. Still tasted like it had just been prepared. The managers there was rude and unprofessional. I am addressing everything she and the general manager said to the Health Department. (NO THIS DID NOT HAPPEN AT THE COVINGTON LOCATION) I do believe the COVINGTON location would have been more professional. I am not understanding how COVINGTON got involved in this. I never said and will never said anything bad about the Covington location because like I stated this happened in Conyers. No hair nets is being worn. If they wear hair nets this could eliminate the problem somewhat. We dined in on Saturday after my daughter finished her work shift. We were seated immediately upon arrival. However, we sat waiting for a waitress for well over 20 minutes. We even watched while people who were seated after us received drinks and order before we even received a "hello" from a waitress. I actually had to walk over to the register where two waitresses were putting in orders to ask who was responsible for our table. The waitress who I believe was supposed to be our waitress based on the tables she waited on said she didn't know, but would take our orders. ‍. The burger I ordered was okay. I would've said it was great, but the bun was hard and stale. However, the meat tasted very fresh. I ended up just eating the meat and toppings because I didn't want to send it back. The wings we received were good. The fries were also good. Lucky for the waitress I tipped based on her service and not for leaving us sitting there. What's not to like about a home town Italian place. The pizza is cooked to order & the service is always great. I usually go on Tuesday & Thursday. Tuesday's are the best because of music bingo. The Bartender is amazing & is always prompt with your drinks. If you haven't tried it I recommend it. The one in conyers isn't as good as the Covington location. read more

I asked for a plain burger and got a sour meat patty smothered in onions, little brother got boneless bbq wings and they were so burnt you couldn't take a bite. Very obnoxious staff they were standing right behind my table talking to some drunk customers and kept repeatedly bumping into me, when I got up to use the restroom and said excuse me they just rolled their eyes and kept talking so I was forced to barrel my way through. Amici's has great food! Their appetizers are delicious, the food is always fresh and tasty. I don't recall that I've ever had my order be incorrect which is nice. Sometimes service is lacking. My last visit our server seemed to disappear for long periods of time leaving us needing drinks, take away boxes, and a check to pay. I'd say that was the only improvement needed is to have the servers be more present in the sections they're working. I would chalk it up to maybe they were short staffed but there were servers everywhere, just not ours. read more

We normally love Amici. We especially love the Blonde Greek pizza. Tonight we decided to order two large salads to go. I ordered the Caesar and my husband ordered the Cobb. I asked for no dressing because I wanted to use one I had at home. His was supposed to come with BBQ ranch. When my husband arrived home, his box had no dressing/ only oil and vinegar in containers. Mine, fully dressed with Caesar dressing. That was frustrating enough, then I see that it was made entirely of iceberg lettuce.., seriously? This is an Italian place- I went back and looked at the menu. NONE of their salads come with iceberg. They shouldn't even have it in the store. My husbands Cobb was supposed to come with mixed greens, nope- more iceberg. If there was an issue getting the lettuce they should have told us when we ordered do we could make another selection. $12 for a salad with nasty iceberg lettuce is not what I wanted at all. read more

I have long been a fan of Amici's with my first exposure being in Athens, scarfing down gar-chee-mar after bar hopping... Covington is lucky to have this spot in their cute little downtown square. It's a staple for Friday nights! Live music in the bar area and lots of friendly faces from around town. You can expect a 45 minute to an hour long wait at peak dinner hours on Friday and Saturday but it's totally worth it. You can walk around the other local shops while you're waiting because they send you a text message which is super convenient. Don't miss out on the olive oil store or if you wanna put dessert before dinner you can stop in to Scoops. As I mentioned earlier I typically start with the gar-chee-mar. The original is the best but they do have a buffalo chicken style that is pretty good. This ain't nothing fancy. Just so I set your expectations correctly, part of the obsession with gar-chee-mar is the fact that I used to eat it every time I visited friends in Athens in college. It's simple but it's delicious. The wings here are exceptional. I haven't met a flavor I didn't like but I think my favorite might be the lemon pepper. Nice and crispy on the outside with plenty of seasoning but not too much. The inside is tender and juicy, just the way they should be! You can order a slice any time of day, any day the week. I love that especially when I like to start with the wings. You can build your own slice or if you're there with friends y'all can share a pie. Yum! Nothing goes better with wings and pizza than cold beer. They have a rotating tap and it usually has some great local varieties. I enjoyed the scofflaw basement ipa on my last visit! This is my favorite spot to meet up with friends in Covington! read more
