Wow! We've tried a few pizza joints in Dublin and been sorely disappointed, until today! We ordered the large with extra thick crust and were very impressed! I ordered Johnny's Special Sub for takeout from their website. It was one of the best subs I ever had!! I ordered it all the way, just as it is. Delicious!! Bread seemed fresh baked, and tasted like what I consider an authentic Italian sub. It was ready when I arrived early too. The inside looked nice. If I would've known, I'd have lunch there sooner. We will never patronize this establishment again. They goofed up an order for one person at the table so they said they were going to make it right. That was a joke. Everyone was done eating and this person was still waiting on the correct order. Low and be hold when the waitress was asked about the order she checked and said that it was being made now. This was not the first time this same thing happened. Another time we brought in a friend and was refused a table. All the tables were empty and had reserved signs on them. Went there just yesterday 12/6/24 in the late afternoon with my wife. Was definitely greeted as we walked inside; that was good. What wasn't good was that a chunky white guy was in a huddle with 3 female servers, and over the course of nearly ten minutes, no one came to get our drink order to begin with. We had time for seeing the menu items we wanted, and had closed our menus, and I went to briefly use the restroom. We sat there and began to wonder if we should go somewhere else. The chunky dude and the girls then disappeared into a nearby door without a word to us. We left. Super-unprofessional. We've eaten there a half-dozen times before and find the food to be pretty darn good, but with incompetent staff, it doesn't matter what the food is like if you can't get it. read more

In times of short-staffing, such as these, I tend to find myself being more graceful on poor restaurant performance. Even more so than that, I come from a family that spent some of their career in the pizza industry (even had a sibling that worked for Johnny's Pizza in a different city). However, the service at this particular establishment is inexcusable. I am making this review after multiple visits with the same performance. Some concerns include: over an hour long wait time on food, unsanitary dish-ware, incorrect meals being brought out (even after waiting an hour and eating it anyway because we didn't have another hour to spare), etc. I understand short staff issues. I understand being busy. However, as owner/manager, one must step up and realize the limitations of their staff and reduce services if it means ADEQUATE service. read more

There a WAY more positives then negatives here. The negative was I waited for almost 25 minutes to get 2 slices at the bar area. They are WAY short on staff for wait staff, I only saw two running the whole restaurant. And they busted their butts running around making sure everyone was catered too. It was packed at lunch time which goes to tell you how good the food is. My meal was outstanding and my waitress LIZ was super friendly and accommodating. AND they ARE NEW YORK style pizza!!!!! I adjusted my rating after a subsequent visit. Waited 50 minutes for a calzone. Was told it would take about ten minutes to make. I only had an hour for lunch, but I thought that would be more than enough time to feed just one person. Sadly, I was wrong!. As I was walking out the door almost an hour later ,imy food came out. The locals who frequently stop here , came in after me and were served before me. And I'm not comparing them ordering two slices of pizza to my calzone. One gentleman had piping hot lasagna freshly made on one side of me and the other gentleman also had a Stromboli similar to what I ordered. Once again, two waitresses running around the restaurant, like they're chickens with their heads cut off. Meanwhile the manager /owner stands around and watches his employees, rather than helping. Two gentlemen that were cooking we're going as fast as they can ,for the amount of people they had to supply. Management and owners need to chip in and or hire more staff. Once again, I had Liz as a server. And if I owned my own restaurant, I would steal her away in a New York minute. The food was still good. But if you're going for lunch and you want something quick, this is not the place to go. If you have two or three hours to kill, then I highly suggest this restaurant . It's quite disturbing and upsetting to watch owners and managers stand around. Meanwhile, their employees are getting their butts kicked. I've never been a fan of laziness. read more

My son had his 16th birthday party at Johnny's Pizza today and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. And the pizza was great as usual. Kudos to everyone there for making his birthday a special occasion, especially our waitress who went above and beyond. Will definitely be back. read more

My fiance and I dined in at 3:30. Wasn't many customers as expected at that time of day. Our waitress was okay wasn't really talkative and we had to ask for refills. I believe her name was Michelle. We order garlic knots as an appetizer (way too much garlic & really greasy) I ordered the pepperoni calzone the ends we're just bread not evenly portioned, but good and extra cheesy. I'd like to begin by stating that the food and service are excellent at this Johnny's. Absolutely terrific. We go almost every week and even pick up take out for the office there sometimes. Servers know us, and are friendly and it's an above average experience to say the least. That said, to the manager: if someone tells you they are not comfortable being touched or having you sit in their booth, please gracefully walk away. Don't argue. Don't explain your friendly business plan. Definitely don't sit down with them in an attempt to make them understand. I get that you mean well. However, it doesn't matter how well meaning you are, consent is what matters. For the record- I do not think that you are being sexual in any way and don't mean to imply that with this review. I just think that you lack boundaries and some people are not comfortable being touched by strangers. Please respect that. read more

I have grown to love this place. It's become our go-to spot on Mondays (senior citizen discount for my mom) as well as some weekends. Most of the restaurants on the weekend have a 30 min-1 hr wait but we have never once had to wait for a table. Service is quick and the servers are friendly. Prices are reasonable. They have beer on tap and a pitcher runs about $8. Restrooms are clean. They have daily specials during the week including $1.00 cheese slices on Wednesday. Pizza slices are huge and foldable. One slice is enough to fill you up, especially if you get a side salad to go with it. Wings have always been delicious. Their subs are good though I don't particularly like the presentation. They place the tomato slice on top, so I end up having to cut it in half and stuff it in the sandwich. No big deal though. The pasta entrees have never disappointed and are portioned large enough for two meals. My reason for taking off a star is because I believe they should be open a little longer on Friday and Saturday. 9 pm is a little early in my opinion when you're enjoying pizza and a beer. read more

Instead of putting the pizza through a conveyor belt like a lot of places, they use the more traditional stoves where you put the pizza in and shut the door. Much better quality than Pizza Hut or Domino's. The times I have eaten there, the service was as good as the food. Will go there again. read more

Service is awful. All areas of the restaurant are filthy. We tried to give this place a chance multiple times because we did enjoy the food but we will not be back due to conditions only getting worse with each time we revisited. I would highly recommend skipping out on this place and eating elsewhere in Dublin if you want a good experience. read more

In town for Christmas with my boyfriends family. We were here for Trivia night so it was a full house. Pizza was great, I had the Caesar Salad and a slice of Hawaiian and slice of Cheese. I love a good trivia night anywhere, and not being from a small town, this was a fun thing to get out and do while we were here. I am typically not a thin crust pizza person either, but this still hit the spot. After splitting a pitcher of beer with friends, two slices and a salad was just enough. I will say, only having one waitress for a trivia night, did not seem like the best decision for the restaurant or the overwhelmed waitress. But, maybe they did not expect as large of a crowd with it being the day after Christmas. Regardless, it was a great night! read more

All of the tables were extremely dirty so the waitress brushed the trash off in my wife's lap on accident. Easily preventable with regular cleanliness. Both of our slices of pizza appeared as if they were cut from the same pizza and raw vegetables placed on top but never cooked. They brought our food with the dressing and lays potato chip bag sitting on top of our food. Not picky but it was a little gross. Not impressed but maybe my standards are higher. read more

This use to be one of our favorites but new staff are awful. Very dark garlic knots with no garlic butter sauce. Then brings cold butter sauce to pour on the already cold knots. She finally says, do you want me to heat it up. Well, yeah that would be nice. Also ordered Buffalo chicken dip with extra triangle pieces. Guess what, no triangle pieces. The ones we received were extra crunchy (over cooked). Waitress never checked on us, so couldn't ask her for missing order. Finally got her attention to get bill and she blamed cook for forgetting the extra triangles. Took another 15 min to get bill to leave. Was planning to order a Togo pizza but gave up and went to Little Caesar's! Did I mention we arrived we waited 15 minutes to get a server to come to our table. One waitress was folding boxes while the other one stayed talking to cooks. Looked at us several times and finally cook told them someone needed to be waited on. Waitress says, sorry for the wait, I didn't see you sitting there. Are you kidding me- you looked straight at us several times. Oh and did I mention the plates they gave us had dried food on them. We never put negative comments but this experience was awful. Until they get decent management find another place to eat. read more

Compared to the Johnny's New York Pizza in Macon Georgia, this one is very disappointing. The guy who was making my pizza looked extremely high off of whatever medication he was on. I had such high expectations after I ate at the one in Macon, Ga because everything was Fresh and good. My pizza has been absolutely wrong several times, and tonight I paid $8 for a "greek salad" that had romaine lettuce, and was supposed to have grilled chicken that I paid an extra $2 for, that was non existant!!!! I've enjoyed eating here several times with my family. The pizza is amazing the garlic knots also taste great! The wings could be a little bigger but can't complain. Tvs placed around so you can watch the game. Also have a little game room for the kids to enjoy. This is definitely one of our favorite sit down restaurants in Dublin to take the kids. read more

The service here is terrible. We walked in to a nearly empty restaurant hoping to have dinner at 5:40 pm. We were a party of 6 adults, 1 child, and 1 baby and they seated us at a booth for 6 people. When we couldn't all fit in the booth they refused to get us an extra chair because of trivia, yet there was almost no one in the restaurant, so we left. Seems silly to me to throw away guaranteed business for potential business over one chair. read more
