Went to look for low end/used washer dryers. The sales guy, Doug, showed us a set that was new but never even told us they had used ones...we only found them because we continued to explore the store. We also looked at mattresses and talked with him about them though we told him we will be in the market for one soon, not now. When we found a used washer/dryer set and asked him about them, he said, "you're better to buy the new ones for $200 more than a 20 year old set." He gave us his "final" low price on the new set and we said we'd go to lunch to decide what we wanted to do. Frankly, since we just moved, we need to play catch up before we invest bigger money into washer/dryer. We decided to go back and see if he could go any lower on the used washer dryer ($400 for them--20 years old, according to him). He not only would not drop $50, which we would have them purchased, but he got real snippy and acted all insulted that we would even ask such a thing. We bought elsewhere at that time. SO, for $50 on an overpriced, seriously old washer and dryer, John's Appliance City lost our business for our new washer and dryer set (close to $1000) and a new mattress set for $2500. Was it worth it Doug to have such ill will and poor customer service? I bet you'll rethink dropping $50 for the good will of a customer who has clearly indicated they would be purchasing more items in the not too distant future. read more

Jim was very knowledgeable about the products and explained the differences in each brand we asked about. We liked that they service the appliances they sell and not farm it out other companies which sometimes have rude and unknowledgeable staff. The delivery guys were on time, respectful and saw that the washer had a dent on the side and ordered a replacement for us all on their own. don't buy from john's appliance. my new microwave worked fine for 2 months. a fire that started inside the microwave burned the interior mechanism. when i called john's they sent me to the frigidaire service dept. it's been 2 months and all i hear is that my "repair is being processed". john's appliance said there is nothing they can do for me (except cash my check). worst customer service ever!!!! read more

We recently bought all new kitchen appliances through John's appliances in Orange City. Doug was our salesman. He did a fantastic job. Very knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us in the right direction. He took his job very seriously and diligently, His prices were better than any other store we went to, and we went to several. My only concern was for Our salesman. Doug, was helping us and running to answer phones at the same time. This meant a lot running for the employees since there are no phones on the floor. I would think that the establishment would put in a more user friendly phone system so there employees aren't running ragged. I would recommend Doug to anyone in the market for appliances. read more

Purchased a "New" scratch and dent GE Washer & Dryer units from John's in Orange City in May 2018. Dryer went up first in July of 2019, a little over a month after manufacturer's warranty expired. Was unaware that John's had a service & repair business as well, so we call another local service establishment. Unit needed a new motor which was going to cost us almost as much as we paid for the unit new. We called John's after seeing their new commercials on TV saying that they warranty all of their scratch and dent products for a full two years. We were told that the promotion was new and that since we bought the year before, we would not be covered. Fast forward to yesterday and our Washer now has stopped working. Called John's again and they told us to call GE for service. Even though they have their own service department and clearly service their own appliances after sale. Can't understand why this company has different customer service standards for different customers. Will never shop here again and will be telling anyone that will listen to shop anywhere else. read more

Dealt with the store manager - visited a couple times - new to the area. First the off-color comments weren't appreciated (comparing the scratch and dent section of the store to girls you pick up at the bar after midnight). Ignoring the above comment - my wife picked out 4 appliances (fridge, dishwasher, microwave, range) and we were told they have the best individual prices in town and we didn't need to price shop as they do that for us. They have the ability to verify all local competitors. We received the price quote and went to Lowe's - about 2 miles away. Two of the four appliances were cheaper at Lowe's and when I emailed back to see if they price match - he said "in total" we are still lower due to installation fees (which wasn't true) so apparently he likes to provide "mis-truths" just be careful when dealing with him. Price check other stores and prepare to need to take a shower after dealing with him read more

A wonderful mattress buying experience from the search all the way through delivery. Duck is a patient and knowledgeable salesman. I made several trips to the store before deciding on one mattress then, in the end choosing a different one. I never experienced any pressure to buy. The delivery guys were excellent even with a second floor set up. They made sure everything was working (adjustable base) and hauled all of the packaging material away. This was the last mattress store I went to. I wish I had gone to John's first. read more

One of the best finds in Central Florida for Appliances, cabinetry, delivery and installation. Jd, our salesman in Orange City, expertly handled a very large appliance order for us. It went off without a hitch. Winn, located in the daytona beach store, has over 30 years experience in the cabinet making business and handled our custom cabinet order perfectly. His Installer, Bob, provided superior services in installing the cabinets and was very adept and installing the custom panel door on our sub zero refrigerator. Also the delivery guys took great care in handling our very expensive Appliances. Everything went off without a hitch. I highly recommend this store and these people for your next appliance or cabinet order. read more

Fridge died today lasted 11 years was a real nice whirlpool. Leaving the next day on business, kind of panicked since everything would of spoiled. Called "Duck", explained I was in a bind. It was at 3pm Saturday. Stopped in at the store, picked a 28 cubic foot GE top of the line. Duck checked with the warehouse, got Justin (delivery) to deliver it within an hour. Justin took a while to install because my French doors where recently painted and only one side would open so entirely on me, didn't charge me extra. Anyways Justin took down both doors, removed old fridge, put it in the truck and did an outstanding job. Gave him a $20 tip he earned it. It's been a real longtime since I experienced such great concern and care and putting the customer first. This is the first time I ever used Johns Appliances and they've earned my business for life. Hats off to Duck and Justin a great team of people. read more

Very poor service. We bought a new Bosch induction cook top in late November 2018. To begin with, it would only turn on intermittently; never reliably. We visited the store twice and were told that we must be doing something wrong; which we were not. The store finally sent out a technician who told us that the touch pad had to get used to our finger. Are you kidding me? From then on, the cook top rarely worked at all. The store finally sent out another technician who determined that the part was defective. The parts department at John's ordered a new part from Bosch. Several weeks later, a technician came out to install the new part. IT WAS THE WRONG PART. He told us he would promptly order the correct one. We're still waiting. So, we have now done without a cook stove for more than 5 months. We've spent a small fortune eating out. We did ask for a loaner, but were told that store policy only allows for loaners in the case of defective refrigerators. The television commercials may be cute, but the service, in our experience, is just terrible. Even worse, no one seemed to care. read more

I called for warranty repairs and a rather incapable individual showed up and told me I was using them incorrectly. Before I could debate with the guy about the proper way to use a friggin dryer, he was out the door. Have to agree with the 1st post, definitely won't go back. Stopped at the New Smyrna store because it is close to home. Needed a new washer after the old one died, (caught on fire). Chose a Maytag because of the name(should have applied the same principal to choosing a store). After bringing it home and doing the first load of laundry I thought the new Maytag was going to burst into flames due to the horrible electical fire smell that came out of the washer. Shut it down and called the store and spoke with the salesman about returning it. NOT an option, we will send a repairman over. Wait, I don't want a brand new repaired washer. Sorry thats all you get for recourse. HEY John you are not doing much good for getting people to shop locally. Still got the washer, just have to stay close while its running to make sure it doesn't catch fire,( smell is still there but less with each load). Wouldn't buy a sack of dirt from them. Actually I wouldn't even give John's Appliance City one star. I should have gone with my first feeling when I walked into the store and I should have walked right out. I was looking for a stainless steel top mount refrigerator / freezer at the Orange City store. The salesman originally told me they didn't make what I wanted and I "have" to take the french door style instead. We were about to walk out when he suggested that he could order what we wanted. OK, we ordered it and waited 2 weeks for delivery. The WRONG refrigerator was delivered (delivery person was very nice). My husband and I went to the store to discuss the situation and then the Manager (who placed the special order) started yelling at me, the customer. At that point I told her that "now I want to cancel the order". They gave us a credit slip. Last night I checked my credit card online and saw that they also charged the full price to my account. I am soooo disappointed that John's Appliance City is taking advantage of people. BEWARE -- DO NOT purchase from them. There are too many other stores that want our business, don't need to get yelled at when THEY ordered the wrong item and charged me twice and credit once. My wife and I decided to buy a bed and we spent almost three thousand dollars on the bed we liked. But our journey was just beginning little did we know. When we started to talk to John's Appliance both at our point of sale and to their corporate outlet we just was not satified with their customer service as we after many phone calls and emails along with pictures to state our dissatified situation with this bed. We dealt with them for about a year trying to get a warrenty claim started to replace this defective bed. Well after dealing with some Associates there for about a year with no success....we then met the assoiate Dan E. and to our suprise he solved this issue in 24 houes getting the manufacturer to accept our claim and proccesed an order to replace our bed. We found Dan E. very professional and customer service oriented....and oh....did I mentioned he remedied the problem IN 24 HOURS! We are greatful for having Dan E on our side who was very understanding and compassionate about his job and our situation. NOW THE GOOD NEWS....WE ARE GETTING OUR NEW BED NEXT WEEK.......YEA DAN! We will never use them again. They do have good pricing, But do NOT have good service and they sell things they don't even service like Speed Queen check yourself. We bought a Samsung washer which they tried to fix four times over a two months period and us missing work with a four hour window each time and dealing with service people and waiting over ten days for a service tech the first time and they blame Samsung about what they can do and can't. Then if that's the case STOP selling Samsung. Finally the insurance company replaced the washer which also took another month because they could not fix it which they did try even if it took two months waiting on parts and service. One time the service manager said you can still use your washer even with it making bad noise and not washing clothes the correct way which we tried and it ruined a bunch of our clothes because the drum was out of balance so bad and water going everywhere which mad us mad also. Now remember Johns sold us the warranty and then the second repair man tells us that the warranty company is the worst to deal with which is correct and its called Warren tech. Don't brother using them or buying this warranty because the service guy from johns is correct about the WARRANTY COMPAMY because it took forever to get ours replaced (A MONTH). Now they are telling us we have to go back to John's with the warranty credit and buy another washer from John's and we have no choice.. We will be going to Lowes now because they have ten times better service and SAME price match as John's appliance with much, much better service and you can even talk with the manager ASAP unlike at John's. Lowe's will also bring you a replacement until your appliance is fixed or replaced which is great and there warranty is a Lowe's warranty not some other company you know nothing about. John's appliance head manager at Daytona office you can never leave a message because his mail box is always full and you can't even leave a message so what good is having his number (NONE). Mr. John you better fix things in your company with the service part or you will go out of business in my opinion. SERVICE IS EVERYTHING WITH A CUSTOMER!!! You have lost our family's business because of lack of service and your manager's mail box is always full and we know longer trust your people and what they say!!! They blamed the Insurance company and Samsung and never took credit for our problem in our opinion which is all that matter's to a customer!! read more
