I tried the carne asada burrito, and holy moly was it good! It came with the usual carne asada, guacamole, cheese, pico de gallo, and sour cream on a flour tortilla. That first bite of carne asada was so flavorful, juicy and not dry, and the ratio of ingredients was just right. It was further enhanced by their delicious homemade salsas. I've tried a lot of carne asada burritos in my life and this one surprised me how much I enjoyed it!! I will definitely come back again for their carne asada burrito!

This place is a hidden gem! I came here on a Sunday morning, and this little market had a small line. The menu has a great selections of breakfast burritos and other items. The interior is very casual with a couple spots to sit down. It seemed best for grabbing a quick bite and taking orders to go. I ordered the carne asada breakfast burritos, which came out hot with green and red salsas. The carne asada breakfast burrito had a generous amount of meat, eggs, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole inside. Each bite was a delight! Highly recommend for your next breakfast burrito craving!

Look at that beast. Huge burritos here.

This place, tucked just down the road from Fidel's/Tony's in Eden Gardens, consists of a small market in one room and a restaurant/taco shop in a connecting room. The market has a variety of mostly Latino goods, including drinks, meats, veggies, and fresh cheeses and freshly-made salsas. I was very tempted to buy a couple of the salsas but did not do so. I will get them the next time. The restaurant/taco shop portion has a few tables and a much better menu than you might expect. There are tacos, burritos, tortes, plates, sopes, and a few other options. My guess is that most people just get takeout. We came for the burritos, which are absolutely massive. One burrito is probably good for two meals, They also offer "mini" burritos which are only "mini" when compared to the regular sized ones. The mini burritos are probably about 75% as big as a normal-sized burrito at some other taco shop. We tried one mini (papas con chorizo) and it was a little mushy but just fine. I was hoping for a bit more flavor and spicy bite from the chorizo. The Ultimate Breakfast Burrito comes with eggs, bacon, potatoes, ham, and sausage, and it is a delicious beast. The California burrito is made with carne asada and fries, and it is a standard example of this type. The shrimp enchilada burrito was the clear winner. The chipotle cream sent this one over the top in terms of delicious flavor. There is no filler whatsoever in these burritos. The tortillas are fresh and they are packed with proteins and whatever other ingredients are described in the menu. The salsas they give you on the side (spicy or not are your choices) are clearly housemade, although the "spicy" one was not very spicy. The counter worker was very friendly. This is a no-frills taco shop and market. The portions are extremely generous. The quality is there. They also have their own parking lot, on the side, and in the back. As we were leaving, it looked like they were setting up a grill to serve freshly-grilled tacos out front. I'm a fan.

This is a hidden gem in Solana Beach! The most authentic mom and pop Mexican food there is. Our favorite are the mini burritos for breakfast. They are small but emphasis on the word "mini". It's the perfect size for when you're hungry, but not hungry enough for a huge burrito. And if you do want a full burrito, they have that as well! The menu consist of a lot of authentic Mexican dishes with some specials on the weekend such as pozole or menudo. Next door is a small market that has all your Mexican items that you may need if you plan on cooking a dish yourself. Staff is friendly and attentive and food is made to order. Check it out next time you're in Solana Beach.

Absolute hidden gem. All the recipes are from the woman's grandmother, who started the market with her grandfather "John". You walk in, you can tell a family owns the place. It's so wholesome and small. I got the coffee and 2 "mini" burrito deal. Best chorizo burrito and best bean and cheese burrito I have ever had! Not kidding. The burritos were not mini either, they were basically a normal sized burrito. Amazing! All for 8 bucks. My girlfriend got the chilequiles, they were insane. She got the eggs on the side, so you'll see in the photo the eggs are on the side but if you can imagine. The eggs on top of there. Holy molè this was so good yall. A must try if you are traveling down the coast of Southern California or if you are in the solana beach area! Thank you guys!

Excellent breakfast choice! They have nopales con huevos! Loved it! Their salsas were fresh and tasty. Hubbie tried the breakfast sandwich and said it was delicious and filling. We'll definitely return next time we're in Solana Beach. If you're truly looking for a local place to support with great food, this is it. Service was excellent and there is a side door entrance to the small dining area. It's not fancy. If you like great tasting food and enjoy being with the neighborhood folk then come here.

If you're in South County or cruising up or down the five you have to stop and grab some of the freshest and authentic Mexican food anywhere in SoCal! The owner John is really nice and friendly. One side is the market and the other is their restaurant. The breakfast burrito is HUGE and they have great verde and rojo sauce ok the side to pour all over each bite of burrito . Their tortas, breakfast sandwiches and bean and cheese burritos have great flavor and were cooked fresh to order. They make Birria de consume from 730-1 daily and it smells as good as it tastes! This place is in hands down one of the best Mexican spots in all of San Diego, north and south county! Worth the drive and right off the freeway! A must try place!

john's breakfast burrito and the ultimate breakfast burrito

I would dropkick a puppy for another burrito from this place. It's the perfect example of a corner market. nothing frilly or fancy, just huge and filling food that isn't too expensive. The staff were very friendly, and treated us with the same openness we gave them. They gave some good alternatives when they didn't have the drinks we wanted. Come here if you want something filling to start the day or to binge eat a burrito the size of your forearm.

Quesabirria and taco al pastor pictured. Both were great. The carne asada burrito was tender and flavorful.

Quesabirria and taco al pastor pictured. Both were great. My boyfriend said his burrito's carne asada was tender and flavorful. We both liked the red salsa- great amount of spice for those who like a little heat. I think he should bottle and sell it! The owner is a super nice guy. We'll be back for those breakfast burritos everyone's talking about!

The king of breakfast burritos and a Mexican coffee, not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning!

We each got to order a pot of tea, so we decided to order 5 different ones to try out more flavors together. The ones we picked were: -Jasmine orange oolong - Coconut milk green tea - Earl grey lavender - Vanilla cream -Strawberry rose champagne oolong tea My top two favorites were the jasmine orange oolong and the coconut milk green tea. The only flavor that none of us enjoyed was the strawberry rose champagne oolong tea, so when it came time for refills, we switched it to the rouge provence. For the food, there were four finger sandwiches: chicken breast, smoked salmon, cucumbers, and chopped spinach. We all liked the chicken breast one the most, and felt like the cucumbers and chopped spinach could have been combined into one sandwich for a more balanced flavor. For sweets, there was the seasonal scone, fruit tart, macaron, and donut. I loved the scone with the butter and fruit preserves, as well as the fruit tart. The service was polite, but a bit slow and we waited a while before our food arrived. There was only one person who was serving the entire afternoon tea area, so it's understandable that there's a longer wait. All in all, I would definitely come back for another afternoon tea experience!

Their menu includes a variety of options like wraps, burritos, salads, bowls, tacos, pancakes, and other brunch-like items. Their drink menu is also extensive including alcohol like wines, mimosa and beer as well as coffees, teas and smoothies. You're bound to find something fitting that craving of yours or satisfying the nutrients needed for energizing your metabolism. I ended up ordering the pesto chicken wrap that also came with a side of chips. The wrap was loaded with succulent pieces of chicken and was very flavorful. The whole grain tortilla held up well throughout the meal and had good texture with each bite. The chips that came along were decent - had good crunch but lacked any kind of flavor. Fortunately the salsa came in clutch to kick things up a notch. The portions were also better than I had expected. The staff were friendly, efficient in placing our order and packaging it up, and thorough in fulfilling the order by including utensils and napkins as they handed the order to us. For takeout orders, they had given us an approximate wait time of 15 minutes and it was quite accurate. There wasn't much space to wait near the register so we ended up waiting near the front entrance near the sidewalk but after the 15 minutes, we made our way back to see that our order was in the process of getting packed up.
