Hadn't been to Rudy's Taco Shop in years since my son was going to school in Del Mar. They had done a remodel which made the restaurant feel more open & spacious Small outside dining area also available. Nice little salsa bar. Good chips we purchased. You order at the counter & wait in line. We ordered a taco & quesadilla. Both were tasty. Will be back soon when in Solana Beach area. Downside is the small parking lot. Finding a parking spot during peak lunch hours can take a little time.

Built my own breakfast burrito - bacon, egg scrambled with salsa fresca, cheese, avocado. Quality + flavor was incredible

WOW this is definitely our new go-to breakfast burrito spot!! Everything from the tortilla, to the way they scramble their eggs, to the freshness of their salsa fresca and the perfectly ripe avacado.... soooo good. 10/10. We stopped in on our walk home with the dog and the service was awesome. They had tons of breakfast options to match any craving. Their patio is dog friendly and comes with such a cool sense of community, good vibes and fun music. Rudy's is such a staple in this special sliver of Solana Beach... I can't wait to come back next weekend!!

Absolute gem of a taco shop nestled in Solana's neighborhood. They were welcoming and offered some recommendations. Usually I don't enjoy eating takeout at the restaurant but I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of the place. I got a bean and cheese burrito, my favorite thing to eat after a night out and it instantly cured me - it was super good. I'll be visiting every time I am in the area, I gotta try the happy hour next!!

My husband hadn't been here in 5 years, we ran the Solana Beach area and he really wanted to stop by as he remembers his being one of his favorite taco restaurants in San diego! We ordered a variety of street tacos including tongue and brain, which were two of his favorites. All of the tacos we had were amazing! They had remodel this place since my husband was last here, and the remodel is very cute and Chic and still has a lot of Mexican culture. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for Quality tacos in Solana Beach area!

Long time fan of Rudy's - they recently redid their interior and it looks great! Their food is always so good, and the portions are perfect. Staff always so friendly too. Great indoor and outdoor seating options. Currency exchange as well. They cater events too. Always a great place to stop for some fish tacos or a burrito in north county!

This is a cute hole in the wall Mexican place with DELICIOUS food, and it's very clean inside. The cashier helped us navigate the menu as newbies and we got an assortment of tacos (shoutout the birria taco) and a fantastic queso dip. Food came out quick but did not sacrifice quality, we will certainly be back

Sorry for this but you guys need to know to do better. Ordered $80 worth of food last night and it was all terrible. I personally ordered a California Burrito w/ no sour cream. It was dry and horrible. No gauc, no cheese and undercooked fries. Very disappointing. Shredded beef tacos was gross. Threw it out.

Bean and rice is mostly tortilla. ‼

Not sure what people see in this place other then convenience. If you are seeking quality this is not your spot, there are plenty near by Mexican food options I would highly suggest over this spot! The salsa bar is gross and skeptical on whether it's worth dipping from. It's does not taste fresh! I came for a simple bean and rice burrito and was beyond disappointed! Not only did it also have a funky taste but hardly had any filling! I asked them to add more and not only did I get a rude attitude but was told, that is there serving portion and I would have to pay more next time to have a FULL BEAN AND RICE burrito!!! Are we serious? You have to be joking for a 9$ burrito you can't even fill it up with BEAND AND RICE? The lack of customer service and cleanliness, inconsistency in the menu $, poor execution, and lack of freshness...you lost my business and I would highly not recommend this location at all! If they can't get a bean and rice burrito right I wouldn't even dare to try anything else. We are in San Diego home of some of the BEST MEXICAN food in CA there is no lack of quality options right around the corner.

If you're looking for a place and you're craving a taco,a beer, Mexican soccer and you need to send money to your love ones in Mexico, go no further than Rudy's taco shop in Solana Beach. Not only can you get a huge menu with tacos and burritos there is also breakfast menu delights. While on lunch you can also get your favorite beers in the refrigerator or on tap! Watch soccer while throwing down some shrimp tacos, and a cold brew ! And if you need to send money to love ones, there is a Ria Envia inside! Enjoy!

We split the the Heart of Palm Ceviche! So amazing and it was big with a beautiful presentation. Just delicious. I could have eaten that alone with no other items. It was a vegan Ceviche and the fish was not missed. My friends ordered really cool cocktails and raved about them. My one friend said that this is the only place she can get this particular cocktail and that she comes here just for it. I ordered 2 tacos (Mr. Asparagus and the Baja fish taco). Both delicious and they came with housemade potato chips (which I thought was weird until I tasted them). I was so full but I couldn't not eat the chips because they were so good. One friend ordered the Quesabirria and she didn't love it. It was very strange as it was wrapped in fried cheese. They also ordered the other tacos and loved them. The only one that didn't get a thumbs up was the Quesabirria. I am looking forward to introducing this restaurant to other friends. So good!

This is by far, one of the best sit down historical Mexican Restaurants around. We came in and sat on the beautiful patio. The salsa had oregano instead of cilantro and a little heat! There were a number of issues with both orders as delivered. However, the staff bent over backwards to rectify each mistake. I ordered the "Old Fashion Orange Cadillac Margarita" and it was so bitter I couldn't drink it. I'm thinking they muddled the crap out of the orang and drove the bitterness from the pith straight into the drink. It was bad, my wife's "Ray's Millionaire Margarita" on the other hand was good, so there's that. Food was great, delicious and satisfying. The refried beans? To die for. I ordered a Chile Relleno and a beef taco and my wife a turkey taco. All were excellent and worthy of their claim to fame. We need to come back, eat a little less and leave room so we can sample a few of their desserts. Overall in spite of mixups on both orders, the accommodating staff and excellent food make a return visit a no brainer.
