You guys, this place is LEGIT. I came in on a random Sunday evening, wow did I come across a goldmine. The other yelp reviews are totally right, this place is definitely a top tier deli. I'd highly recommend both things I got (Reuben sandwich and mac salad) The reuben sandwich had a perfect amount of meat, perfect taste to it and had just the right of fat (cheese) as well as acidity (sauerkraut!) I would drive from Poway just to get this. Yes, you read that right. The mac salad is a nice add to the meal, the noodles are still very al-dente. The taste is identical to a traditional potato salad except swap the potatoes with al dente mac salad. Owner was super nice and had a lot on his hands but he managed to take 3 or 4 orders in during the time he made my sandwich. And take care of his daughter! I'm definitely coming back. It's a liquor store but you can get liquor, chips, cigarettes, and lottery tickets anywhere. You are here for the very good deli sandwiches. This place gets very high marks on Yelp but I was a little dubious. But it feels great when someone exceeds your expectations. The Reuben sandwich I ordered looked fairly ordinary but it was excellent. I loved it and literally wolfed it down. The basic turkey and cheese sandwich was fresh and delicious. The Italian sandwich (which included your usual assortment of Italian meats) was great. All of the breads used and ingredients were very fresh. I saw them scooping fresh avocado onto the sandwiches. That is what I like to see. They are not skimpy with anything here. These sandwiches are not life-changing but they are very well-made and delicious. Found this place on yelp, decided I'd give it a try. I was not disappointed. Got a few different types of sandwiches and was extremely happy with all of them. Prices were right and anything else you need you can pick up while you're there. The guys behind the counter were super helpful and answered any questions I had. Found this place while visiting the beach for the day. I've always had a thing for deli's inside liquor stores. Didn't disappoint. Got the Italian and the Reuben. Both were really delicious. I was bummed I saw they had a spicy Italian after I ordered but more reason to go back. Sandwich was well balanced not too much bread like a lot of places... Reuben was also great nice and hot. This is hands down my favorite sandwich place. There isn't a single one I've tried that I didn't fall in love with. I've been coming here for several years and it's still just as good and affordable! The guys who work there (and or own it I'm not sure) do a great job. They are friendly and there's lots of good drinks and sides to choose from while you wait. Excellent deli sandwiches! ...and they also have pretty good cigar selection (according to my husband). Yes its a liquor store but its definitely more than that. At lunch time, there is a pretty large line to get a sandwich. I discovered this place by accident, its next to Bangkok bay thai restaurant where i'm pretty frequent take out customer. My favorite sandwich there is Christopher Columbus (turkey/avo on rye or wheat). They don't skip on ingredients and fairly priced. read more

Ooh so so yummy good. The sandwich was delicious I went with the club and I also grabbed a bag of these Nicki Minaj chips which I do NOT recommend. But the sandwich was great and we walked over to benches that overlooked the Pier which was so nice and this dog there named Brûlée was wanting a bite of this sandwich sooooo bad !!!! I visit the area a few times a year and I always grab a sub and take a couple home to my family. Traditional subs done right. It's hard to find a good deli sub anymore so I appreciate this small bussiness keeping the tradition going. All the subs are great , I prefer the Italian or salami. They are very good and fast in making them fresh, with the best ingredients like avo, onions, different italian meats if you want...also veggies, chicken, even cheesy ones. To boot, they have a select amount of groceries like lemon/limes/quickie veggies you may have forgotten from the store. They also sell the best liquor, and lots of faves as well as bottles you wouldn't expect at this type of store. And...the price is right. The sandwiches were good and reasonably priced. What got us is getting chips and sodas in the Qwik mart which really added up quickly. Three sandwiches turned into $45 with $4 bags of chips and sodas at almost $3 a piece but for a quick healthy sandwich this is a good option near the beach. read more

Convenient place to get a fresh made deli sandwich. I love the egg salad sandwiches. You pick the bread. I like to get just regular white bread but I have also tried the French roll. They have a few grocery items, coffee, wine, beer, liquor and some snacks. This place is within walking distance to our timeshare so that's a bonus for us. Sandwich was great, employee was terrible. Terrible attitude when I came in the other day from the second i walked in. He acted like a child when I asked for my sandwich toasted. Told me 4x that "you need to tell me this before i put the toppings on". So unnecessary to repeat it and yell at his customers about. His attitude was terrible and ruined the experience. He worked Monday morning.
