Custom charcuterie boxes for beach picnics are what keep me coming back…read more If I'm anywhere near Del Mar, I make a point to stop into one of my favorite cheese shops. I always take it straight to the beach because everything tastes better with your feet in the sand and front-row seats to the waves. This small European-style cheese shop is known for its curated selection and cheesemongers who actually listen. They follow my preferences every time: nothing spicy, no olives, no dried apricots, and always something sweet like jam or honey. There's never a hesitation or attitude like I've experienced at other shops. Whether I need a box for just myself or something larger, they customize it perfectly. Beyond their global cheese selection, they carry artisan charcuterie, truffle products, European crackers and breads, local honey and jams, boutique chocolates, and small-batch pantry items. I also love the little surprise chocolate they throw in. Thank you for always listening and creating the most beautiful, delicious boxes for me. I rave about your shop to everyone and will continue to do so.

We got seated quickly in their beautiful outdoor patio area with our 2 pups! The food was absolutely delicious! The wonton tostada, DEFINTELY my favorite!! I wish we got more orders! I was apprehensive about the tangerine in it at first, but it brought such a delicious sweet flavor to the tostada, literally devoured it so fast lol 20/10! The bone marrow quesadillas were good. The bone marrow was juicy, melt in your mouth flavor! I like to add a squeeze of lime on the marrow as well, tastes so good that way. The quesadilla itself was okay, tbh I could've done without it as it wasn't anything amazing. The bulgogi burger is on their monthly special menu! It's listed as sliders but when we came, our server informed us they only have it as a regular burger for the time being which wasn't an issue for us! It was delicious & filled with so much flavor! I loved the crunch from all the veggies inside as well. The fries it came with had some sort of sugar salt which wasn't my favorite, but still good. Overall we had an amazing first experience and will definitely be back & bring our family/friends!

Service was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. The starters absolutely stole the show--bone marrow quesadillas were fire, and the aguachile negro was next level, easily the standout. My kid loved the Mexican French toast (really tasty), and my wife's enfrijoladas were also a hit. For my main, ordered the chilaquiles verdes with birria. The meat was solid, but the chilaquiles themselves were a bit flat on flavor. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with birria. I really wanted to love it, but it just didn't hit. That said, I'd definitely give this place another shot. It's a great spot with a lot going for it--I'd just try something different next time.

Food was just okay, honestly couldn't taste the crab in the Benedict. Hubby says the same of his birtua - just okay. The Bloody Mary was simple, but good & spicy! I customized it with beef birria, homemade guacamole, and breakfast potatoes. It was perfectly crunchy on the outside with all the ingredients meshing perfectly on the inside. This isn't something that's on the menu normally, so you'll have to ask for it. The secrets out, The Cottage in Del Mar makes the best burritos in the area! They also carry bottled Mexican Coca-Cola, which was exactly what I needed for a Sunday morning recovery (thanks Anthony Bourdain). The girlfriend is obsessed with their Clydesdale--a coffee they roast at their other location. It's espresso brewed over cinnamon and brown sugar, and honestly, it's life-changing if you've never tried it. I also had a simple side salad with homemade lemon vinaigrette, pickled carrots, tomatoes, and cucumber. It was fresh, light, and the perfect compliment to the meal. The service and the staff are always a big part of why we keep coming back. Désirée is bubbly, fun, and welcoming every time we visit, and Trevor, the manager, is always kind, attentive, and runs a great restaurant.

I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and it couldn't have been any better. The food was prepared perfectly--not overly salty like I've experienced on some previous visits, but balanced and delicious. Every bite was exactly how it should be. Whoever was leading the kitchen on 7/7/26 deserves recognition. Thank you! The food was absolutely perfect, and it felt like some positive changes may have been made behind the scenes because the quality was outstanding. The service was equally impressive. Our server had the perfect personality--friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we were well taken care of without being overbearing. It was exactly the kind of hospitality that enhances a great meal. I'm so glad to see things operating at this level. Everything--from the food to the service--was just right. I prefer friendly banter w the service, as it makes bar dining a fun event. The GF ordered the bountiful Cioppino, and I ordered a Caesar, as the hunger bone had not hit. The Cioppino sauce had a nice spice to it, as I had to sample. The Caesar also good. All topped with an old world Pinot Noir to seal the deal. I love Nick's Del Mar as it has the indoor/outdoor seating. Never had an average meal at Nick's (whether Del Mar or Carlsbad).

You get a great view of the ocean, which was breathtaking. The restaurant is within walking distance of the ocean, which is an added plus if you come here for a date. Service was good too. My partner and I ordered the AGNELLO AL LIMONE, LINGUINE CON FIORI DI ZUCCHINE, and CESTINO DEL PANE. We liked the Agnello al limone. The lamb shank was soft and flavorful. The linguine was okay. Portion sizes were kind of small for the price, especially with the additional surcharge of 3% that is separate from gratuity. I was not a fan of the cestino del pane either. The olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette were fresh and very good, but the bread itself was hard and did not stand out in flavor.
