What I like about the store is that they always seem to have clean aisles, clean floors, and all of the items are put together very well on the shelves. When we walked in, we needed to find sunscreen, and there was a cashier who was nice enough to offer to help us find it. She directed us to where it was. The prices for the sunscreen are super competitive and very reasonable. I also found that they have the deli section near the produce department (on the left of the store). My husband and I peruse some of the things to see if we were going to have anything before we went to the fair. He ended up getting a packaged sandwich. I only got the sunscreen. It's always a good experience when we come here and we appreciate that Gelson is a small grocer in San Diego.

Love me some grocery shopping!!…read more If you're a fan of Whole Foods and Sprouts than this spot may be your jam! With that said, you must have expensive taste. Quality over quantity baby!! Pros: - Parking jackpot - Tons of parking in Del Mar (rare and appreciated) - Beautiful location - Surrounded by other shops, makes errands fee a little bougie - Clean and spacious - Wide aisles, organized layout, and easy to get in and out - Fun fact - I can spend hours at a grocery store browsing through the aisles looking at new products. - Hot food and prepared meals - Chef's kiss - perfect spot for a quick lunch they never miss - Health food heaven - A health nut dream if your wallet can keep up! I was tempted to buy some yummy new products but hesitated due to the price point. But trust, it is well worth it. - Gourmet and hard-to-find items - Great for when you're feeling fancy or experimental - Local products - love supporting local vendors - Friendly staff - super welcoming and go the extra mile - Not too crowded even on a Saturday - that's always a plus! Cons: - Prices = emotional damage - You go in for snacks, come out reconsidering your life choices LOL - Regular items can cost more - Your basic groceries will definitely be pricier than standard markets - Upscale vibes = upscale bill - Go figure! Final thoughts: This place is perfect for browsing, treating yourself, or grabbing a solid ready-made meal. It's not your everyday budget grocery run especially in this economy so shop wisely. Great spot though when you just want to splurge and treat yo'self! Health is wealth they say!

I used their pick-up for my favorite instant espresso packs. It's like a Starbucks Via knockoff,…read morebut it's way cheaper and honestly, the flavor is nicer. My pickup experience was mind blowing. I was over 30 minutes away, marked that I was on the way, what kind of car I was in, and literally the second I pulled in, a customer service agent knocked on my window with my bag. Customer service 10/10, surveillance, 10/10 XD The parking lot is stressful and lots of people were hogging the pickup spots because they felt a lot more important than everyone else I guess. Parking is crazy, but the parking lot and storefront are clean. Keep up the great work fine people. I'll be back next time my espresso packets run out. I worked at this WF location for a really short time during the pandemic in the deli. It was really hard work! You have no idea! Be nice to retail and food workers. It's tough work.

Went back again on Aug 29 midday and there were 10-15 cars backed up to get in the parking garage and no spaces on the first 2 floors. Still many shelves were bare or big voids(cottage cheese section, ice cream section). But the biggest problem were the pro shoppers pushing multiple carts, crowding the aisles and making it really difficult to pick up my items. It has become untenable to go here other than for something unavailable elsewhere. The store needs to figure out if they want to be a convenient store they once were or a warehouse for professional shoppers.

You're gonna go into Seaside and go to the counter and say I want the classic Cardiff crack sandwich, which will feed at least two people and maybe a kid beside. When we first moved down here, I wasn't a huge fan of Cardiff crack, but I've become to look forward to every chance I get to have it. That said, I've noticed a few things lately that have made it a little harder to shop here, especially as the store seems to be getting busier and busier. The biggest challenge has honestly been the crowds. It feels like the popularity of the market has really grown, which is great to see, but it can make the experience a little overwhelming. I also think it may be worth considering a larger location at some point. Parking can be incredibly difficult, especially if you have a larger vehicle, and getting in and out can sometimes be a challenge. I also recently had an unfortunate experience with a few items I purchased. The girl who helped me at the register was very kind and bagged the majority of my items, but a couple of smaller items were left outside of the bag. I was in a rush and completely forgot to grab them before I left, even though I had already paid for everything. I realized it later and called the store to explain what happened. They were kind enough to put my name on a bag and hold the items for me, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, when I came back later that week to pick them up, the items couldn't be found. It seemed like there was some miscommunication between the staff, which was really disappointing because I had specifically called ahead and was told they would be held for me. I completely understand that things can get misplaced, especially in a busy store, but it was frustrating knowing that I had already paid for the items and had made a trip back specifically to retrieve them. I also didn't have my receipt anymore because I had assumed everything had been placed in my bag, which I realize was ultimately my mistake. It's definitely something I won't let happen again. What was disappointing was that, even though the staff remembered me coming in previously, the items ultimately weren't replaced or resolved. I understand that mistakes happen, but I think this could have been handled a little better. Even with these issues, I still genuinely love Seaside Market and want to see it continue to do well. I know that growing crowds and increased popularity can create challenges, but I do think there are opportunities to improve the overall customer experience, especially when it comes to parking, managing the crowds, and communication between team members. The prices have definitely been climbing, and with the store becoming busier, it's getting a little harder to visit than it used to be. Still, there's a reason I've been coming here for years, and I'll continue to support the market. I just hope they're able to find ways to make the experience a little easier as the business continues to grow.

The sandwich tasted good and they gave a lot in the sandwich. You can choose the bread you want as well. I also grabbed a bag of chips. But these were all separate prices. Too bad there wasn't a special lunch price of sandwich, chips, and a drink. I guess they don't get many customers to make that a thing. I just came by again (December 20th, Saturday) and was informed that the deli portion wasn't open today sadly. So they aren't reliant on that aspect, they should have posted a sign outside to inform people. I just bought some chips for 2.99 -- which is not bad compared to grocery store prices but the bags are smaller and less is given as well so take that into account. At least they accept cash! And drinks are refrigerated so they are nice and cool and refreshing if you were to buy one.

The deli is within the liquor store and its super easy to order your sandwich. The staff were very friendly and quick. I ordered the Manhattan sandwich and I added bacon. I walked a couple blocks down and enjoyed the sandwich by the beach. It was very flavorful and I was happy with my choice. The price was great and I felt like it was worth it. Drinks within the liquor store are a bit pricey, but thats to be expected in Del Mar. The spot is busy but that doesn't affect their quality or speed, and it seems you can even place an order over the phone. Overall a very nice spot to get lunch at.
