Dropped by for oil change and tire rotation at my lunch time. Got there shortly after 11, was done shortly after 11:30. It's hit or miss on how many people ahead of you. But timing was right. I wanted a 5 tire rotation (to include my spare). I gave instruction on how to do it. No problem with them. The total cost with tire rotation was still cheaper than just an oil change at Jiffy Lube. As long as I'm close by for work, I will keep coming here. read more

Found John Xpress lube on yelp because of so many positive reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I came in for an oil change and they took than 10 minutes for oil change. Super fast. I also wanted to get my cabin filter changed but they didn't have it in stock. At first I was told, I will have to wait maybe an 1-1.5 hour for it to get there. But somehow they got it taken care off in less than 15 minutes since I sat down to wait for the cabin filter to arrive. I am very impressed and happy with services here. As soon as I pulled in a gentleman walked to my car and greeted me. Everyone is very courteous, friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back here if I need something done to my car. read more

I've been going there since I moved to Houston and I love it! I don't know anything about cars but I love going to this place because they have earned my trust. Being a female and going to car shops is the worst, since everyone thinks they can rip you off, but these people don't which is awesome! The staff is super friendly, it's a family owned place and the best part, you're in and out of there within 20-30 min. I've actually never waited over 20 min for an oil change. Dropped off the car, gave my insurance and the inspection was done in 10mns. Great service. Granted today is holiday and not many cars, I leaving a five star review for the speed of the inspection and most important, no BS about other parts needing adjustment or fixing. This is a painful review to write, so just the facts. We've been coming here for two years now for oil changes for our Lexus and inspections and have been very happy. The family that owns the shop was always very nice, and the oil changes were very fast. One of the sons even gave us a ride home one day when we were caught out in the rain with our daughter on a walk. No complaints whatsoever, and I recommended the shop to several other people in the neighborhood. A few weeks ago we had a power steering leak, so I thought to take it to John's to get it fixed. They quickly diagnosed the leak . They said they needed to order a high-pressure power steering hose from the Lexus dealership, which arrived the next day and they quickly fixed it. The labor was a good deal, but the hose ran $354.33 for a genuine Lexus h/p steering hose. The car is coming to 120k miles, so I thought to finally get the timing belt and water pump changed. Since it's such a big job, I wanted to go to a shop that specializes in Lexus, and went to Clear Choice Lexus off of 59. They did the job, and in passing mentioned that the h/p power steering hose that had been put in was aftermarket--it was missing a bracket it ought to have, and the heat shielding was a different color. I was pretty concerned, since this part aftermarket is half the price. Now, I'm not enough of a car expert to be certain that this assessment correct, and I was pretty surprised by what they'd said about John's work. So I thought to simply go ask; maybe it was a mistake on the part of Clear Choice techs, or maybe John's had made a genuine mistake, or been duped by their supplier. When I arrived and asked, the sons were originally puzzled and seemed genuinely concerned, but then the father came out and things went downhill from there very quickly. I asked to simply see records of the part that was ordered from the dealership to lay the matter to rest, but he couldn't show me any records. He reiterated that the part was good and that's why he gave a 1 year warranty on it; but the issue was not whether it would last a year, but whether it was a genuine Lexus part. I continued to ask to see records or for an explanation why the part looks different from the genuine Lexus part they'd shown me at Clear Choice, and he just continued to get more aggressive, saying that he didn't want to work with people who didn't trust him, offering to put the old power steering hose back in (which was nonsense, since it was leaking, and obviously a bluff, because who would save leaky power steering hoses for weeks after a repair?)! Anyway, I left and won't be back. Let's give the benefit of the doubt and suppose he was in the right, and that there's a simple explanation for why the hose looks different--that should be viewed as an opportunity to educate the customer and further secure their loyalty, rather than become confrontational and lose their business permanently. read more

Of four different repair items performed on my vehicle, three have required additional work and two of those are still unresolved several months later. I might trust them for an oil change. I'm going to make it plain and simple. These people seems nice, family run business but they are all crooks. Got oil change the first time and the following day my check engine light was on so I went back to check and charge me 295 dollars for something unrelated issues and then the following day my coolant started leaking and the coolant was dripping on the lower part of the engine so it started smoking. Took it back there and explain to them why is it that every time I come here for something another issue comes up. I told them that the coolant wasn't leaking at all until I got it done previous day with the engine like on. So, once again, It cost me 125 dollars to fix it. I had my suspicion but what still gave them the benefit of the doubt. They say 3 times is the charm. So, this past week I went back to get my oil change from them but I made sure I stayed outside to see if they were messing with my car. Got it and went home. No problems right? Wrong!!! My wife had to use the car and she called me from the parking lot and told me that the car wouldn't start. Low and behold. These motherF's loosen the battery. My suspicion was right from the beginning. You get something done from them and they will do something to your car so that you will come back and they will tell you BS and pay for something for a simple fix or not even do anything to it.
