I came here last Friday with my husband and daughter... we ordered a ribs lunch, a double up dinner with ribs and chicken and a triple up dinner with double ribs and links ... once we got home we noticed that the double up and the triple up both had 4 ribs each ... we spent close to $80 and didn't receive everything we paid for ... also some of the ribs were just bones with skin on them . For the sides we ordered greens and the bowls were only half full , the potato salad was bland ... The usual cook must have not been in that day because the ribs are usually tender and they weren't. Dang I'm so homesick. I haven't been in Texas for like around 10 months and I was bummed not having good BBQ for a long minute. I was craving it during work and I searched Yelp and found this place! I came across this lady and she was super sweet being herself and explaining the menu to me because Texas bbq is not like the Texas bbq in California if you get me. So I ordered what seemed really appealing... the rib tips. Rib Tips ($18 after tax)- pretty good! A lot of flavor! However one thing that was hard was that it was heavy which of course is self-explanatory when getting ribs! The two sides I got were macaroni and cheese and potato salad. I love how the macaroni and cheese was pretty "light" and different. I didn't feel too heavy eating it. The potato salad had some kind of sourness to it that made it feel light. In a perfect world when eating rib tips, I would be able to eat the cartilage however it was pretty hard. I definitely liked the meat in general! Vanilla cake w/ chocolate ganache ($5)- Pretty good! I really like how the cake was moist and the lady told me it was going to be good! Well it was! It was in a cup and I thought this was pretty new but why not try it right? I definitely recommend this too! Overall, I liked the place a lot! It seems like this place is a small business and I support it! Maybe phone ordering before closing (ordered at 6:05is, closed at 7pm) was a bad idea.. but when we went to pick up the food it said the sign said closed at 8pm so like why the dude over the phone give us mixed information!? but we had no clue. We ordered a link sandwich, online it does NOT say it comes with slaw, definitely would be good to advertise that cause some people (me AND OTHERS) highly dislike slaw. this wasn't even a little where you can scrape off, this was a mountain of slaw. I would have asked without had I known. I didn't eat it, gave it to my dad, he literally threw everything away (soggy buns in all) rinsed the links out and ate them plain. Links were DEFINITELY salty. The BBQ sauce was BOMB, flavorful definitely. Mac & Cheese was BOMB. BBQ Chicken was good, BBQ sauce made it BETTER. Little rib tips was good, tough but good. They forgot my collard greens, the only green vegetable they had and they forgot it. Although the food was tasty, I had to wait 35 minutes from the time I walked up to the front to the time I got my food, including waiting probably a good 20 minutes just for someone to take my order and pay. That seemed like an inordinately long time. The rib tips were yummy, cole slaw was as standard, and the mac and cheese not so good. The spread was full of wonderful sides- potato salad, greens, Mac and cheese and baked beans. So delicious! There was a plethora of meat- brisket (so tender), tri-tip, pork ribs, rib tips and chicken. All of it flavorful and well seasoned. Our hosts were fun! And they let us eat until it was gone.
