    "the side"

I ordered online and pick up was fast... but if you're hungry for lunch go SOMEWHERE ELSE. In what world is it ever acceptable to feed a grown adult a 4oz skinny sample cup for sides you paid for. I don't care if it's a "lunch special"... I was especially irked, irritated and better yet HUNGRY. These 2 sides combined wouldn't effectively feed my 1 year old nephew, let alone any grown adult. I had a half a bite before my "sides" were all gone leaving me with a mediocre Tri tip plate. The feeling I hate more than being hungry... is feeling played. Well they got me once but never again. Apparently on the website they list "4oz" in super fine print but it's still very misleading and they loss my business! I would have much rather paid more and had a DECENT size side than this sham. The bbq isn't the only thing smoking

4++ Feels like one of those old school neighborhood BBQ spots that has been around for a long time. The people here are friendly and helpful and the prices weee reasonable especially considering how expensive BBQ is these days. The structure itself feels like kind of an old timey shack. To my knowledge, it didn't look like there was any seating available so it's more of Just a takeout place. The menu is pretty straightforward with your barbecue classics like ribs, brisket, and tri tip, etc. and classic sides. I was in the mood for some saucy barbecue so I got an order of the ribs lunch. For my sides I got the mac & cheese as well as the collard greens. I thought the sides were well seasoned without being overly salty. The ribs were also prepared really well as they had a nice bite to them, but they fell off the bone pretty easy. The sauce had a great flavor to it. I'm a big fan of neighbourhood spots like this so glad I stopped by to grab some lunch here. Definitely not close to where I live, but if I'm in the area, definitely on my rotation.

OMG Johnson's BBQ !! What kind of giant rib tips you serving ?? And why is the bread crumbling??? And where you buying your chicken links ?? Please stop buying them from there !! Wow waste of money. The sauce is good though.

Plain wings. Your standard size, slightly breaded and fried. Pretty good, no complaints.

Ordered in person around their opening time. Asked for 20 wings and they told me to come back in about 25 minutes as the ovens were still heating up. Cashier lady was super friendly about it all. About $40 for wings and a large side, which is about your normal price for BBQ these days. To the people complaining about things being cold or out of stock, maybe put on some clothes and go order it yourself like a grown adult and stop ordering BBQ at closing time. Of course they ran out of food. You ordered at 9pm on a Sunday.

BBQ was ok but not in the same park as robert earls. I got the three-meat combo with links, ribs and tri trip. Sides i got mac and cheese with beans and a side of potato salad which were good. The prices are great for what you get here. There is no inside seating, just pick up. I must admit the ribs were pretty dry. The sausage was ok and tri tip below average. I wish they had the brisket because that's what i really wanted over the tri-tip. I think overall its ok but too many other good BBQ places in LA IMO. Not good enough to make me come back. Mac and cheese 8.7/10 Beans 8.3/10 Sausage 7.9/10 Ribs 7.8/10 Potato salad 7.7/10 Tri-tip 7.0/10

My first time there unfortunately it was out of heat ribs, but it's OK cause they substituted to my liking amazing Customer Service the young lady was really nice and they took really good care of me. I recommend this place. Check it out if you haven't had it.

Small place and well worth the trip from SGV. Too bad, couldn't dine in!!!

Once we were ready she had our table already prepared. We have to order inside first before you can be seated. Once seated our food came out not too long after. Everything looked and tasted delicious! We ordered the chilaquiles verde, short rib omelette, tropical pancakes (seasonal), and the mango curd french toast (seasonal). The chilaquiles verde was savory and tangy. It wasn't soggy at all and definitely one of my favorite dishes. The short rib omelette was savory but didn't give me any wow factor compared to the other dishes I ordered. The tropical pancakes were so pretty. I only tried a piece of it without the syrup which I think was a mistake because the kumquat syrup was my friend's favorite. I definitely need to try it again with the syrup. Best for last, mango curd French toast was my favorite! I fell in love with sweetness and tanginess of the mango curd. The French toast was soft and you can taste the butter. I wish it was a main menu item. I'll definitely be sad to see it go. They have lots of seating inside and outside.

The atmosphere was beautiful and lively, and our service was great. We started with Mexican candy shots and tried a couple of their tequila cocktails, which were a fun way to kick off the evening. The food was definitely the highlight! They brought out their house green sauce with fresh bread, and that sauce was SO good. We also tried the Batata Harra, which had a nice kick but was packed with flavor. The *Filet Mignon Sliders with goat cheese** were easily one of my favorites. OMG! The combination was so good. We also ordered the Grilled Filet Mignon Kabob, chicken kabob plate, and steak plate with rice and a side salad. Everything we tried was flavorful and enjoyable. Overall, I had a really good experience here. Great food, good drinks, a nice atmosphere, and quality time with a friend. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu!

Just a couple of weeks ago, my friends and I were considering our options for where to have brunch to celebrate one of our friend's retirement. Toast was one of the names I dropped in the metaphorical hat, and it won the vote of a few. My friends were surprised that I had named a spot I hadn't yet tried since I'm usually the "foodie" of the group. However, another girl in the group who had been here before vouched for it. I'm glad I finally got to try this place this past weekend, and I cannot wait to return! There were so many things on their menu that I wanted to try. A couple of the ladies ordered green chilaquiles, the friend we were celebrating ordered the Spanish Omelet, another woman I'd met that day had the bacon and eggs, another one ordered the Biscuits and grave with a side of bacon that looked perfectly crispy. I wish I had taken pictures of the plates as it all looked so lovely! I didn't even take a picture of my own food haha. I had my eyes on an omelet, one of the Benedicts or the Chicken n Waffle. In the end, the chicken and waffle won. It comes served with a little container of maple syrup with bacon pieces. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffle was delicious, though I did request for some extra syrup on the side. To drink, a few ladies ordered mimosas, one ordered an iced caramel coffee, and I ordered the Carajillo. I fell in love with this drink last summer in Mexico and do not often see it on the menu. I love the subtle citrus notes the Licor 43 adds to this espresso drink. It is very similar to an espresso martini, and theirs comes topped with a toasted marshmallow. I honestly wanted to try almost every item in their Tipsy Barista section of their drinks. I'll just have to come back that many more times :) Plenty of parking in the mall lot. It does get pretty packed during peak hours. Fortunately I had called ahead to put our group of 6 down. We went in on Saturday around 11:30. It slowed down a bit while we were eating, but started to get busy again after 1. Otherwise, we might have been forced to honor their 90-minute rule. All in all, a great experience from everyone in our group. No complaints on the wait, service or food. That certainly deserves a toast. Great job, Toast!

Very friendly, offered good suggestions and had a general good vibe about them. I am so bad at getting their names. I only remember Joseph and he was cool but our table was handed over to another waitress shortly after arrival and I don't remember her name but she was great. I'm super indecisive, especially with massive menus - Cheesecake Factory is a nightmare - but The Pan had a great variety so it made the choice a bit difficult. I saw they had a cuban sandwich and I froth at the mouth for these but I was convinced to try the loaded hashbrowns. We actually got into a little conversation about the miscommunication between restaurants and customers sometimes because everyone's definition of hashbrown is different. Are they the McDonalds oval shaped golden discs or the shredded and pancake-style flat things? OR are they those weird onion and pepper potatoes that some people call hashbrowns even though they are home fries BUT they're not even fried, they're sauteed so clearly having an identity crisis but anyway... The Pan's loaded hashbrowns are.... the shredded kind! :D Wow, if someone actually broke through my review and read my potato rant... I'm buying you breakfast here... Limit $20 :) Anyway... couldn't help but order my plate with a guava pancake as I've never heard of that before and tried stepping a little out of my comfort zone and trying something a bit different. Was very yummy, although I have my eye on the banana pancakes for next time. Glaze was a little runnier than expected, although I did take a minute to dive into the pancake as I was preoccupied by the hashbrowns - delicious by the way. Hashbrowns came loaded with: cheese, green onion, chopped pieces of bacon (thick kind, not bacon bits!) and diced sausage (turkey sausage is an option, so I'll def opt for that next time). Dish was nicely seasoned, no overpowering spices or unnecessary aiolis - wait, actually it did come with a chili aioli but it was more like a spicy mayo and it was not spicy, so it's a good dish for anyone to enjoy. Only thing was it arrived a bit cold; cheese wasn't thoroughly melted but the flavors compensated for that easily so it wasn't really a bother at all. Dish also lacked grease and for it being absolutely covered in cheese, bacon, and sausage, I was happier than heck that there were no grease pools. Service was good, although they lagged a bit with refills - they get insanely busy though so I get it. Again, they compensated with good vibes, suggestions, overall interactions so I wouldn't worry about a lack of attention here. I would probably not advise against ordering the guava pancake; however, it wasn't anything incredibly special so I'd opt for a different flavor if going the pancake route. I'll be back soon - need to try out that Cuban sandwich and get the name of our waitress! Thanks for having us, was a lovely experience.

We were immediately seated and made comfortable. Cheryl took our orders and could not have been nicer/friendlier. Very spacious and cute atmosphere. Ordered and after a little bit of a wait (Due to food made to order BTW!) I had the absolute best chicken and waffles ever. IT WAS A 1/2 CHICKEN seasoned to perfection -- flavorful and juicy! I think it's because when I'm going out to eat, I usually want to escape my own area. Today I finally gave it a try, and I was sincerely impressed. I walked in and was greeted right away. I asked a few questions about the menu and requested a substitute, and I didn't get any weird looks or pushback, which honestly happens more often than you'd think in 2026. The walls had beautiful artwork, and my server, Kevin, was fantastic. He checked in every few minutes to make sure I had everything I needed, and it felt genuine, not like he was just going through the motions for a tip or a paycheck. You can tell the difference. I ordered the horchata French toast with fresh fruit and a lavender latte, and the presentation was next level, the kind of plating you'd expect in Beverly Hills, Century City, or parts of Polanco, Mexico. It was beautiful, the food was excellent, and I was taken care of every step of the way. I'm writing this review because this place deserves to be seen and deserves to keep growing. I'm not compensated in any way, shape, or form, this comes straight from the heart. If you've been sleeping on this place, give it a try.
