My friend's dog who has been by her side for the last 11 years...I mean by her side. And when her dog got very sick, very suddenly, no one she called would help her on the peninsula either because of not taking new patients, the virus or needing money she did not have on hand who would help. Unlike the other Vets when she called Dr. Schramm he would do what he could once he heard the dog was in much pain. My friend spent a week of not sleeping with so many questions of what could be wrong and googling what it might be or what she should do but never knowing for sure. That man took the dog and after being xrayed was able to give her a diagnosis. The dog had been in much pain for many days and needed to be euthanized. Dr. Schramm giving my friend those answers to what was wrong and giving my friend the gift of being able to know that her dog and best friend was put out of her misery with care and compassion in the way that Dr. Scramm did is something that I dont think can be properly explained. Moving forward in despair...I reached out to "Diamond B Veterinary Services" where Dr. Tara Black answered the phone herself and asked the condition of my (cat.) She pro-actively suggested I forward her a picture via text. Dr. Tara Black immediately called me back and said, your (cat) is "self- traumatizing her skin..." and that she needs to see her today. She immediately arranged for me to bring my (cat) to her local Animal Clinic in Sequim to be treated. Had it not been for her "Boundless Unconditional Love & Passion" for Animals...I'm confident my (cat) who is 14 years old would have suffered extensively. We'd never had him in daycare so I had a lot of questions and hesitation but they were prompt to respond each time. Our pup ended up having a great time with no issues with the other dogs. The two men we met that are in charge of overseeing the dogs were informative as well as understanding my nervousness about leaving him for the first time. There was ample paperwork to fill out but that proved they are cautious and fulfilling their responsibilities given their good reputation. It went so well we took him back a second day. They are a good 15 mins. off the beaten road in a very rural location but was worth the drive. Would definitely use them again if in that area.

We used Irene multiple times for care of our standard poodle puppy and I would not recommend her…read more The first time was for over a week at Christmas when our pup was about 5 months old. We told her he sleeps in a crate and that if he is getting too active he should be put in the crate as that was part of the training method we were using. She insisted that she didn't want to bring the crate with her. Luckily, it worked out fine. Fast forward less than two months to Feb and we planned a 4 day weekend out of town. We booked it over a month in advance. In that time our puppy grew into what the trainer calls "teen attitude" as he was nearing full sexual development. He was way more excitable and testing boundaries with training. The day before we planned to leave, my child got sick so we decided to stay home. I didn't want to be a jerk and cancel the booking at the last minute. Irene thanked me for that. After picking him up at 10 am on Friday suddenly at 1:30 the next day she calls me and says she is bringing the dog back because he's barking, scratching at the door and playing too rough with the other dog she is watching at the same time. She had told me there would be another dog with him but she did not have the dogs meet each other first to see if they got along. I have no doubt my pup was barking and scratching and jumping on the other dog. HE'S A PUPPY! But she knew he was a puppy and chose to also take care of an older dog with back problems at the same time. She also chose not use a crate. We are working with a trainer who says we have to keep a harness and leash on him all the time and he spends time in the crate every day to help him chill out. But she refused to use the methods we were using to control his behavior. After her call saying she would be bringing him back in a couple hours, I left the house briefly and came back to find my pup in his crate with a note that said we owed her $90. Her rate was $40 a day at Christmas and now it was suddenly $45 with no warning or explanation. We had to pay for 2 full days when it had been a little over 24 hours.... and SHE chose to end it early! When she came back to get her money she acted like it was a character flaw that our puppy was acting like a puppy. She took no responsibility for the fact that she chose to house him with an older dog he had never met before. She told me how she spent a lot of time doing agility training with him to calm him down. WTF? How does agility training help a puppy stop jumping and barking? When we put him in a crate and use the positive reinforcement methods from our trainer he calms down and is quiet within a couple minutes. But she didn't even want to hear that or try it, she just did it her way and then dropped him off when it didn't work. What if we had been in Canada like we planned? I shudder to think what she would have done with our puppy because he was acting like a puppy and she couldn't handle it. Would we have had to drop everything on our vacation and drive home? I realize that our pup was probably being a pain in the butt. She is supposed to be a professional; she should be able to plan for and handle standard puppy behavior or she shouldn't take puppies. She could have at least tried to manage it with the techniques we use. The way she handled the whole thing was obnoxious and unprofessional.

My girl comes back happy and well exercised every day - what more could you ask for? What more indeed...Irene pays such close attention to my Sansa's needs and caters her activities accordingly. She is receiving either an active walk with 'heel' training or a vigorous ball session with behavior training and mental stimulation thrown into the bargain. With me she has been totally flexible with my changing schedule making this a perfect partnership.
