I have been using this groomer for 6 years. She seems very concerned about the dogs and my dogs are always happy to go there

First of all, John is GREAT. Always helpful and friendly and informative. If he doesn't know, he will refer it to the person there who does know. Lynette is the fish expert and great. Knows her stuff. The tall, young , dark haired man working the fish department (wasn't there today but I have seen him previously) and is always helpful and informative. Today, at 1pm, hardly anyone in the store. I bring my cart to the only register open. The young kid manning the one register open looks at me, then speeds out the front door to his white car. I thought, okay, maybe he will be right back and I unload my cart. He said nothing, before he ran out, to John who was busy off to the side with cleaning a bin and not manning a register. He could of said something to his coworker since my items were now at the register table. Then this kid speeds off in his car. Was his shift over or was he just rude? Thank you to John for helping me. Customer service from this young kid is entirely lacking. Good luck with future employment. read more

My dog was visibly spooked and on edge while checking out and instead of speeding up the process, the cashier continued to provoke my already distressed dog by pretending to throw my purchased bully stick at her. I was appalled and will never be back. read more

We had our year-old-rescue pup go through the Fundamentals Class and Advanced Class with Liz and he is a different dog! He went in scared of most everything, and he left confident, attentive, and listening to what we say. He got to the point he would go to sleep during some classes, he was so chill. I highly recommend Liz as a dog trainer. She is knowledgeable, patient, and creative when we had unusual issues arise. In addition to the training area, she also uses the store as a training ground, which give the dogs real-life exposure to all kinds of things. A "paws-up" for this program! read more

Worst customer service ever in my life! I asked about a question about a promo they had, the cashier, Daniel, replied: ' I Dunno'. I asked him if he could find out or find someone who could answer my question. He told me to go to the sales floor and "Find Somebody" The manager was unhelpful and rude, he told me that Daniel's job isn't to help people or answer questions, but just to cashier. At this point, I informed them I'll have corporate answer the question, and the manager suddenly became helpful and came running out the door. How embarrassing for him. He didn't care until I mentioned corporate. No thanks. I know good help is hard to get, but this takes it to another level. read more

The staff are often very helpful especially in fish dept. The store needs more staff on the floor. Please support staff with hours or rework the schedule based on traffic. I feel bad for these amazing employees just being overwhelmed because of staffing issues. Working the register and the fish soloing the whole store?! It's not a good business practice. read more

I have tried to give y'all a chance after the last time your employees were awful to me, mostly through mobile orders so I didn't have to wait through your long lines. Today I asked my husband to pick up an order for me (one bag of substrate). I get that you guys get busy and maybe don't have time to pick your orders, but ignoring your customers, sh!t talking them with your coworkers when they leave your store and then being pissed when you actually have to go get an order (when you could have looked on your device to see if you had pending orders instead of lying and saying you don't have anything) is terrible customer service and uncalled for. Maybe the older woman and gentleman were having bad days, but you're literally the face of the company and I don't like what I see, especially when you treat my loved ones and pets like we don't matter. This location needs a serious attitude adjustment. It's disgusting how little respect you have for other people, and how unfriendly you are. Also, your corporate husbandry is vile; most of your reptiles are solitary creatures and you stack them into tiny enclosures like legos. read more

This dystopian hellhole of a pet store is only missing the flickering neon of a dystopian trope. Most of the interior lights are out making this place terribly unwelcoming. There don't appear to be any employees about, except for a couple of groomers and one cashier. They are supposed to be carrying a brand of cat food that I couldn't find after three passes through multiple aisles of cat products. Another customer commented to me that this store must hate cats because of the horrible layout of cat products. My college classmates tell me that this store is known to improperly dispose of live animals here and it is said that they fired an employee after he was injured on the job. read more

The sequim Petco is like many others. a wide selection of items for your day or dog, some interesting, and genetically altered black light glowing fish (with marketing touting the "inherited glows from their parents - without mention "someone genetically altered mom & dad" with the rest of the selection rounded out by a various reptiles & turtles. The staff was friendly and efficient, the lines moved quickly - overall a pleasant experience (i've had different experiences in other Petco's) read more

Booked grooming appt online for Petco in Sequim and got email confirmation. Two days before scheduled appt I recevie cancelation email and a voicemail about some BS not having enough kennel space. So their reservation system is broken or do they just no have their act together here? I'll just throw my money at a reputable business instead of big box whose employees really don't care if you spend money there... or not. read more

I have lived in Sequim for a little over 7 years and have had the mis-fortune of having to deal with this Petco during that time. Customer service has always stunk. Tonight was the icing on the cake. I approached the check-out line with about $75 in fish food. The clerk looked right at me and then proceeded to play with a dog that she had chained to her checkout counter. I watched this for about 2 minutes. Another employee walked by, looked at me and proceeded to walk into the managers office. Neither of these employees ever spoke to me. I walked out leaving the stuff on the counter. I won't be back and am canceling my rewards program. There is some sort of black cloud hovering over this location and they just can't seem to get any employees with any clue as to what customer service may be. read more

Took my 7 month westie puppy to get his first haircut at Petco and I got back a dog that was only bathed, NOT EVEN BRUSHED OUT and charged $60. The same as a haircut. They said they couldn't trim him due to him barking, wtf read more

Took my ragamuffins to Sequim Petco for haircuts and Kota did an outstanding job. My girls look absolutely beautiful. Though the dogs are always apprehensive getting haircuts, Kota puts them at ease and she says they are easy to work with. She is patient and gentle with them and now I always ask for her. Many occasions where it takes hours. Rude groomers. Have to answer phones and groom dogs at the same time. Poor time management. Nipped my dogs ear because she was in a hurry. Not worth the heart ache. read more

Horrible groomer. After dropping my dogs for grooming, she called me after a half hour and said that she was totally unqualified to groom my dog. I picked them up looking like hell wondering how she got the job. My dogs are sweethearts, over 10 years old and have never experienced this before anywhere. First Time Ever for Any Groomer to Refuse to Shampoo Bernie! That was said to be Because He Didn't Want to Stand and Be More Helpful to Groomer Lisa. I've had Bernie, who is Catahoula leopard and either german shepherd or rottweiler shampooed by at least a dozen groomers in the past 3-4 years, with no problems. Yes its true he's not happy about getting a bath, and he is a little afraid at times. The groomer Lisa seemed inexperienced and unwilling to be assertive and encouraging for Bernie, and called me to say she wouldn't shampoo him. I needed to call elsewhere, and fortunately TLC Pet Pros in P.A. was willing to squeeze him in their schedule. Alicia there said yes Bernie was reluctant with her too, but he cooperated once he saw she wasn't going to stop just because she could tell he didn't want a bath. The Tacoma Petco had been good and the prior groomer at Sequim were good, but this was a waste of my time and frustrating that the handler didn't seem to have enough confidence to apply herself and just get the job done in an upbeat manner. I don't expect to try to go back there again, at least unless a groomer who I know can do the job is there and available. read more

The WORST groom IN THE WORLD. We got our dog back wet, not brushed, and very fearful, shaking in fear, they OBVIOUSLY mistreated her BADLY. If you want your dog mistreated go here. The store manager and the groom manager both refused to refund our money. They were arrogant and rude. BEWARE. If you love your pet go elsewhere. The customer (your dog) is not right at this Petco. Update 12/2011 The Groom Manager has been fired, her bad attitude toward her clients (dogs) finally caught up with her! There was a reason dogs kept trying to bite her. We groom our Corgi ourselves now. With love. Hopefully PetCo will hire a Nice Groomer who loves animals. read more

We were blessed to get Kerry as our doggie's groomer. We discovered she has the same God-given touch with animals as the dog whisperer, Cesar Milan!!!!!! We are so impressed with wonderful, highest quality pet grooming our skittish Lhasa Apso just received here in Sequim!!!!!!!! The grooming results were superb! In addition, our dog's abject terror of grooming was rehabilitated after her visit to Sequim Petco ( and Kerry) . Our pet's fear was due to some rough handling by unskilled techs at vet groomers in Eastern WA, and Idaho. Future visits we will have to travel a couple of hours to have Kerry groom our poochie, but it's well worth the loving care and the expert grooming. HIGHLY RECOMMEND KERRY AT SEQUIM PETCO!!!!!!! Good for Petco to be smart enough to have great folks like Kerry to lead other groomers and provide the absolute best service to the pets and the people that love them!!!!! read more

This was my first time with my 2 little dogs. I started off with a visit just to have their nails clipped. If that wouldn't have gone well it would have been the last time. I was so glad that went well. The people there were very friendly and seemed like they were interested in trying to make your dog feel comfortable. read more

When they have what I need in stock,it's great. However, it's getting to the point where nine times out of 10 they won't have the one main thing that I need from them. For instance my cat likes three or four flavors of cat food. So I go to stock up on those three or four flavors. Every other time I'm there, they're completely out of the flavor I need in the size I want to buy (always a 3 ounce can). I can buy these by the case online, but I don't like to do that for something my cat is so finicky about. I cannot buy by the can online, so I have to come into the store, which is hit and miss. Sadly, I've also placed orders online to pick up in the store, and those are hit and miss as well. It appears that their inventory control system is not accurate. So I go in expecting to pick up two cases of something and only one is available. Very frustrating! I've started using other stores as my primary pet food supply because of this inconvenience. read more

Don't go there for puppy play time or training! Very unprofessional trainer. Her dog (15 month old akita) attacked my 4 month old akita. She said my dog bit her dog. My puppy needed stitches, no marks on her dog. Bad experience, but Petco paid the vet bill. read more

I have been taking my dog here for 2 years now. Pricey, but the woman who works here really knows her stuff. My dog shakes when we go in, but stops when this woman handles her. My dog has very sensitive skin and gets very itchy after grooming, but this lady makes sure she is well rinsed and so this doesn't happen. I recommend this particular Petco groomer. read more

Employees are nice and all but don't really know what they're doing. Lack of training? Idk. The dog grooming part is a train wreck. Their hours are whatever the hell they feel like that day. When you do get them they seem put off that they have to deal with you. Bought some fish and the employee was super judgy and preachy. Felt like I was adopting a kid from China, not buying a fish. They do keep it well stocked. I'll give em that. Oh one last thing don't get crickets or roaches off the shelf here. They are almost always all dead. Idk why. They are really bad about keeping them refreshed and alive. Anyone who buys the ones off the shelf is paying like 5 bucks for 3 live crickets. Ridiculous. read more

This is the only Petco I will take my doggy to! The grooming Manager was the first one to groom him, she really knows her stuff and I was very impressed. I have been to multiple Petco's and they take ALL day even if I have an appointment but Sequim I can just walk in and she is done in less than 2 hours. My dog would always get sick when he would come back from the Tacoma Petco. I don't know what they would do to him but he was always scared and he would come back sick. He would throw up and have diarrhea.. Horrible! And they charged me an arm and a leg. $85.00 for a cocker spaniel who is 15 lbs. this place is awesome. Great price, great staff, great place. Highly recommend it. We drive an hour to take there because she is awesome read more

I just took my two shih tzus to the Petco salon for the first time. I have only fabulous things to say!! Kerry groomed both dogs and did a great job. It's important to me that they look good, which they do, BUT most important is how they were treated. Kerry loved them from the moment they entered her salon. She took time to make them feel comfortable with her and their surroundings. She also made sure she understood how I wanted them cut. The result was outstanding, very neat, just the way I asked. And, the dogs weren't upset when I picked them up. They seemed happy, not stressed, and playful. I have to send RAVES out for Kerry at Sequim Petco. What a caring, loving, and dog-centered groomer. I have taken our pug for grooming several times within the past year. There has never been a problem and she has been very happy each time. She tends to pull back if she is nervous or afraid and she always happily goes there. The staff has always seemed professional and friendly to me. read more
