He could have just said so, instead of treating me in such an unethical, inhumane and humiliating fashion at the most vulnerable time in my life. His assistant probably noticed and attempted to make up for his rude and unprofessional behavior, and that was very appreciated (she is a sweetheart.) His hygienists are amazing and I am so thankful for them. Do us all a favor and retire, Dr. Margeas! You ARE NOT God's gift to dentistry, as you think you are. I have anxiety disorder so they are able to use "gas" to keep me relaxed. My periodontal problems are gone and so are five cavities and now I see him three times a year with very little anxiety to keep my periodontal issues under control. He even worked me in the same day for an emergency. Delta Dental and all forms of Medicare and other insurers are accepted. If you don't have dental insurance no worries, they will write up a payment program. As long as Dr Thies is in business I will always go to him; I can't imagine going to a different dentist.

Then a few years ago I went in for a cleaning and the doctor berated me for my vegan diet, told me to come back in a couple weeks because for evaluation of a potential root canal something he should've known that day. He guilted me and made me very scared. I decided to do research and had read on healing cavities naturally, and gave it all I had to attempt to remineralize myself. Then in the past week I had an abscess start on one tooth and another tooth chip. My perfect teeth down the drain. I was emotional. I thought for sure I was going to need to have dentures. I'm still single and never married, so my possibility of finding a man who would accept my dentures was going to be out the door. I have had one skeleton in the closet that no one other than me knew about. My teeth look beautifully white when I smile, but inside my mouth they have been more than an embarrassing mess. I was praying and praying the Lord would heal them so that nobody would ever have to see how disgusting they were. So when I arrived and learned that I only needed a root canal and essentially a partial prosthetic tooth my fears of dentures were resolved. But a root canal? Doesn't that mean they pull my tooth from the root and that will cause some major pain? Dr. Johnson explained exactly what it was to me but I knew it was going to require an anesthetic. The last time I had one of those shots I couldn't help but let out a scream. Medicine has changed so much that there are now topical numbing agents that make it so you barely feel the needle. At the end of the day there was no pain. I'm passing through Iowa on my way home from several months of travel. Dr. Johnson made every accommodation possible to get me moving along. He didn't judge my chosen vegan and alternative natural lifestyle and was willing to work with me on other options. I think that's what we all want. Someone who gives us their professional opinion then gives us the freedom to make our own decision. Those decisions may turn into poor choices but at least all of the information was laid out on the table. Thanks to Dr. Johnson there is hope for me! I might not have to die all alone after all!

I was told at my last visit to finish my current trays and that they would order more or remove the attachments afterward. Now I am being told I must pay additional fees just to have the orthodontic attachments removed and to receive retainers, which I believed were included in my original treatment plan. After being in trays for several years and going through multiple refinements, this has been extremely disappointing and stressful. Communication has been poor, and I do not feel my treatment was handled professionally or with clear expectations. I would encourage others to get everything in writing and ask detailed questions about what happens at the end of treatment.

I have seen Dr. Easter since I was a kid and have always had a great experience. That is when I decided I needed to take my son (3.5 y/o) to the dentist I have personally trusted for years who has taken the best care of my teeth with having my best interest in quality of life and financial interest. When we got there he reviewed the X-rays, looked at his teeth and then explained to me what his treatment plan would be. It wasn't that the pediatric dentist was wrong, but just was not necessary to put a 3.5 year old through all of that. He then treated my son and was amazing with him, along with his super friendly staff. I will always recommend Dr. Easter & his staff for pediatric and adult dentistry- there is a reason I have gone to him for over 20 years!
