I had a great experience! I am 6 months pregnant and I request a two hour foot and body massage. Anne was my masseuse and she made be feel very comfortable! Her and the owner made this the best experience! For my foot massage they elevated me so I wasn't laying flat on my back and for the body massage they had a pregnancy pillow that I was able to lay on my side. I have never felt so discriminated against in my life until today. I walked into a massage place, and the first thing the lady at the front desk said to me was, "You must pay first." I was shocked and asked, "How can I pay for a service that hasn't been rendered yet?" She eventually told me to go ahead and start the massage. About 10 minutes into the session, she walked into the room and asked if I was okay with the massage. I said yes, and then she insisted I had to pay immediately because her manager said so. Once I have arrived at the location at my appointment time. The lady didn't see me in the list and called her manager. The manager knew we had spoke over the phone, I stated the date, time, & duration of the call. She told me to come back later & that "we are busy". I finally gave this place a try. Only cause it is so close to my house. My mom went here pre Covid and she said it was not bad at all but nothing special. I actually walked in on a Saturday around 6pm and asked for a the $45 hands and feet massage. As told the lady who took me in gets 4/5. She tried her best and check on me if I was comfortable or not because I am a little too tall for their chairs in the communal room. I am 6"2. The most uncomfortable and painful part is when they lay you down flat but soak your feet in the bucket it cuts the damn circulation to my calf and hurt as hell. I come regularly with my bf and have had full body massages from 3 diff people, with Richard being my favorite. The other 2 weren't bad, but just not as good. They've always been professional towards us. During my last visit, the therapists for us took a while to get to the room and I was worried about that lag time counting as our massage time (since we were already in the room), but I heard one of them confirming to the other the proper end time of the massage which was relieving. While waiting in the lobby one day, I saw a few workers upset over low tips from customers but only after the customer was out of the door and they didn't dwell on it. I haven't seen anyone make a fuss over low tips when I'm there but I guess they probably wouldn't if other customers are around. The best massages I've received so far in my life costed at least 2x more, so for the prices that Jojo Massage charges, I'm happy. read more

I've came here multiple times prior to the pandemic and enjoyed the messages here. We finally came back for the foot reflexology message. I tried the ginger soaked for an extra $5 and my cousin did the regular. First off, we made an appointment 3 days in advanced, when we arrived the front desk personnel told us that there's no appointment marked down for us but they can squeeze us in. We walked in and the community room only consists of 4 message chairs and the lights were not dimmed as it should have been. There's no relaxation music on but you do hear a bunch of employees chatting in the back. My message was mediocre and nothing to rave about. I get a better foot message from my nail technician then I did here. It appears that they have change ownership. The masseuse didn't seem to know how to massage and completely avoided my thighs, Cavs, glutes and legs all together. She mainly rubbed my lower back and shoulders by sliding her hands up and down. I initially told her to focus on my lower back and shoulders with more pressure. But that did not communicate apparently. Ok, so I've been getting "foot reflexology" massages for close to a decade. I have tried this same location 3 different times in hopes that maybe previous bad experiences there were just a one-off. Unfortunately, that just doesn't seem to be the case. Pros: If you want your calves/shins to be massaged in the same place over and over for 30 minutes straight, than this is the place for you. If you hate your feet being touched, then this is the place for you! My "foot reflexology" massage consisted of a 5 minute portion on my feet. =/ They are very nice and kind. I will give them that. Cons: You just feel like you are being grabbed at the whole time. The massage isn't calming or relaxing. It just feels like they are rushing through the motions and grabbing at your skin in an attempt at a massage. My massage therapist used lotion over 40 times during my hour massage. I don't even know how that is actually possible. I left and immediately had to take a shower. I was covered in lotion from head to toe. Regardless of the experience, I still tipped because they were kind and polite, but I will not be giving it a 4th try. read more

JoJo Massage is hands-down the best massage place that I've tried thus far in the Sacramento region. There's a lot of other similar type massage shops throughout every city, like the big chain Happy Day Spa. This massage place is Chinese-owned with emphasis on reflexology and ginger massages. The entire place is nice, quiet, and clean. The staff at the front desk is extremely friendly and welcoming. No stress, no hassle, or pressure like many other massage places. Kevin was my masseuse and this was actually the first time I've had a male masseuse. I generally don't mind, but it just so happens that every time I go get massages can my masseuses have always been females. Kevin is amazing. Upon entering, he greeted me with a smile and then quietly worked on my knots and pains. The pressure was perfect for me (I normally favor softer to light/moderate pressure) and that seems to be his norm, so if you enjoy harder pressure, you might have to let him know. His style is very different from many other massages I've had before, he seems to know reflexology well because he pin points certain areas of my body and presses on it firmly, which then was followed by relief. I called to schedule an appointment about 30 minutes before I arrived and had Nina as my tech. She was amazing! Strong hands and checked in to see if she was applying enough pressure which I really enjoyed. I look forward to coming back to have her massages. I left feeling so refreshed and the next day I feel just as great! I haven't been to Jojo since before the pandemic and they have since remodeled. The community room which is where the lower priced massage packages is smaller so there's less of an echo overall. Their foot and body package for 1 hour is now $35 which is a very good price compared to other places in the area. I did take off one star due to other people who I assume are the workers talking and walking loudly through the rooms which my tech had to remind them to be more careful. I was really excited to come here, but after my experience I wont be coming again. The beginning started off rough. Prior to my apt, I scheduled the services I wanted. Upon arrival, I reiterated what I wanted for me and my partner but for some reason it could not be met. What I thought was accommodated was not. The massage was ok but it hurt. The next day my back was aching as if I just had a workout. Also I've gone to many massages and this wasn't superb or anything but the price was. For the quality I thought, I could get the same massage or even better somewhere else for a better price. The most frustrating part of the appt that topped it off in a bad way was that in the end the worker demanded tip to be $20/person. No way, who does that? When did we not get to choose how much we want to tip? If you plan on coming here, be aware because they won't tell you till it's time to pay up. This was my 1st time to experience this. Went in for a 1 hr full body massage with my SO. I believe our masseuses were Cindy & Tim. Unfortunately, I can't recommend either or the full body massage. We both left in more pain than we came in with--my SO could barely stand/walk after being elbowed in the calf so hard and my skin feels raw from all the forearm rubbing. My neck and shoulders are more tense and in way more pain than before, hopefully it's just the 'it gets worse before it gets better' type of thing. Foot massage isn't included :( It was extremely awkward twice--first, when we came in and the front desk girl took us to our private room and didn't give any instruction. We weren't sure of the procedures here so my SO had to ask when he went out to use the bathroom. Second, was after the massage, when Cindy was just standing there at the front desk watching me pay/pressuring for a tip. Two things to note about prices: they have mini combo & full body massage passes that include 5 massages (making full body massages $37/each). Hot stones are no longer included with any of the massages, it's an additional $5. Supposedly you can get a ginger crystal foot massage with a yelp review, too.. All in all, I would be willing to go back and try out one of their cheaper massages. Last note: full body massage is like a regular massage in which you strip down to your undies in a private room; cheaper massages are clothes on in the the 6 bed community room. read more
