I will say if I didn't remember it might not have been the best I've ever had. I do remember the feeling that it was serviceable and that I'd go back since I've only been once. Amy accomplished in 60 minutes what Kaiser and their little "physical therapy" stretching exercises failed to do in more than 15years...she stopped my pain. I'm a lifelong athlete of Obstacle Course Racing, punishing endurance events, and half-marathons, but I had never had a massage. I thought I was taking care of my body by staying active and doing hard things, but I wasn't taking care of myself on the recovery side. With her targeted massages, Amy found and removed all the knots that were hiding and restricting my range of motion in my shoulders, hips, neck, and knees. But most importantly, all the chronic aches and pains I thought were just part of the life I chose are now gone. My motions are more fluid, I have a more complete golf swing, the pain from my fractured spine is gone, and my workouts are more thorough and effective. I followed up my first 60 minute session with a 90 minute session, and will continue these once or twice a month. I just feel and move better just getting out of bed in the morning. Although she doesn't charge as much as most other places that I see here in yelp, this is some of the best money I've ever spent on myself. If you've ever felt that being in pain and sore is part of the program, you'll change your mind after visiting Amy - after 17 years of doing this, she knows what's needed to get you feeling right again. Make no mistake, this is more of a healing massage than a soft handsy relaxation massage. Tell her where it hurts and she'll fix the pain. Her little space is clean, smells great, and the music is soothing. Her hours are super flexible, even late into the evening, but she works by appointment only and only communicates by text. Update - I don't want to take off a full star, but I can't take off a half-star, so I will leave five stars with this fair warning: While I highly recommend Amy for her massage services, I will not recommend planning your day or other events around your session, and be prepared and almost expect to have her reschedule it. Of my three appointments so far, ten total appointments were required (all but two were rescheduled, with a few of the reschedules getting rescheduled multiple times). I have been going to Amy's for over five years now. She is a true miracle worker! She always asks which area she should concentrate on and notices all my knots. I have a lot of knots on the shoulder and back and she concentrates on those. She is so observant she even noticed that I lost weight. The small studio is located in a shared-space spa that seems to have mostly hair and nail salons. It is quiet, but Amy has to step outside in the hall while you dress or undress. There's an uneasiness about privacy that hangs like a small cloud. Though the price is professional, the atmosphere is ad hoc. You might return here because it's easy and close-by. I just got a 90 minute massage by Amy. First of all, she's so sweet and responsive. I like that I can text her to book appointments instead of calling. She mentioned that she is the only staff so if she isn't able to pick up your call, it's because she's busy massaging me! She responds to texts and is very personable and easy to talk to in person. Amy asked me which sections I want her to focus on and she listened! But she also felt where I was most tense and worked on those areas too. Amy really knows her muscles and pressure points. None of it hurt so I was worried she wasn't applying too much pressure, but I feel loose and relaxed and not at all bruised. It is nice that she allows texting to set appointments. I have been to her 3-4 times and she has only asked me to come in about 15 min later once (I think because previous client was late), and gave me good notice. Her technique is great and she will apply as much or as little pressure as you need. I remember I went there and told her I had a lot of neck pain from stress and she asked if I wanted 75% neck and 25% rest of the body. It is great that you can customize it. Another time, I came in because I had been experiencing pain all over my body due to a medical condition. My doctor cleared me for a massage although I was advised that it may not help. I finally found a masseuse after many ups and down locations. Thank you Yelp, once again! I have a found a very nice lady that works very hard for herself and family. Got to know her a little and just by that little comfort effort I already felt a good connection with her. So let me start by how to book an appointment! Just call her, if she doesn't answer leave a voicemail and she will get back with you asap! Her hours are so flexible, and she communicated with me via text to confirm my appointment the day before and on the day of. Very efficient. I waited outside her studio #10 (Sola Salon). She set up the room and there is a bed, very small lighting (perfect) and relaxing music in the background. She left the room for me to undress (I understand if you're new to this and you might be shy but don't worry she is very considerate and a blanket is always covering you if she is not massaging you in that area) and I've learned it's more relaxing and comfortable if you are undressed so they don't have to maneuver around your bra and whatnot (I do keep my panties on). Head face down on the comfy bed, she knocks to confirm you're good and then starts right away. She asked me where I would like her to give more attention to and I stated I was having neck, shoulder and back shoulder pain. Work, stress and gym life has definitely put a lot of knots there. She recognized them immediately and it was unbelievably one of the best feelings. She took her time getting them undone and not once did she use her elbow, let me repeat NO ELBOW was used. All fingers, hand or forearm. No pain and just the right amount of pressure! I did 60 min full body massage ($50). She massaged my whole body but I do notice she will always come back to my back/shoulders (where I wanted more attention) and I loved that! The oil and lotion she used was not scented (I think) it didn't smell overwhelming and felt nice on my skin. Oh and note I did not leave with oily hair and bruises like my last massage place experience. I left Amy's with such a lighter feeling on my shoulder/back and feeling refreshed!
