While passing through Visalia we found this place. There aren't many places like this where we live so we thought we'd give it a try. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Entered in to a very open and clean seating area. There is both indoor and outdoor seating options. Inside they are picnic table style with bench seating and long tables or counter seating near the windows. Outdoors was set up with table and chair patio style seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Immediately greeted by a friendly employee and after we mentioned it was our first time there she gave us a thorough overview of how it works. One thing we really liked was the customer has the option to select their "signature" dogs or you can create your own using all the toppings they have available via a slip of paper. You just check the boxes of what you want on your all beef hot dog (1/4 lb.), a polish sausage or bratwurst. I discovered afterwards they also offer "mini" dogs, which I should have gotten because they are quite large and my eyes were bigger than my stomach after I ordered a hot dog and a homemade corndog. My daughter got a polish dog and a homemade cheese dog (like a corn dog but using cheese instead of a hot dog). I got tater tots as a side and my daughter the homemade potato chips. All the food was tasty and we'd get them all again, though as I mentioned above I'd probably go "mini" on one or both because together there was just too much food for me. The batter is sweet; remind me of corn bread; and I like me some corn bread. Thick coating but compliment the beef wiener well. You can pick your corn dog to be infused with beef or a choice of cheese. Now for the hot dogs; we ordered the western, the classic and the build your own. Lots of toppings; definitely not stingey with them. However they only wrap them in foil; maybe some other kind of wrapping like styrofoam container or cardboard would be better. I got a chicago dog and a corn dog. It wasn't a long wait to get the food, but I think they forgot that I asked for no onions and had to remake the chicago dog. The corndog was really good. The chicago dog was delicious... try one if you've never had one before. I didn't know about this place until a few months ago. I've ordered them on door dash quite a few times since then , I always get the Chicago Dog and it's so good ! I also love the mozzarella corn dog ! The batter is delicious and they are huge . My go to order is The Chicago Dog, Mozzarella corn dog , and strawberry funnel fries ! So good! The owner was at the counter when we walked in and was so friendly telling us about the menu and making recommendations based on what we told him we liked. I tried a Philly Cheesesteak dog that's new and not yet listed on the menu and it was delicious. I'm not a huge spicy food person, but the jalapeño crema they put had the perfect little kick for the hot dog. My boyfriend and I both also loved the fresh, housemade chips. Jojo's say they have the best hot dogs EVER! but do they really? As of right now our opinion is.. "no." We heard about this spot, which got me curious and my wife was all for it! So we went on a mon around noon. Having browsed the menu, I noticed a "Chicago Dog" which had me automatically SOLD! All beef hot dog, all the fixings that come on a typical Chicago Dog; yes please! They even had a corn dog on the menu! Wife was automatically sold! It just kept getting better! Shaved ice!? Wife is a total fan! Funnel Cake fries!? What!? Yes please! But then.. this is the part where reality struck! We placed a mobile order through a 3rd party app on their website, but a few minutes later I received a message.. "it's been 5 minutes and your order hasn't be approved, please call the store." So I did and it was a simple mistake which "hey no worries! They were making the order but it just wasn't approved on there end, the lady on the phone was very helpful, funny and sweet! We arrived a few minutes later and stepped inside to get a shaved ice for the road "bad idea", but that's for later lol. No greeting at first, just a few stares and that's it. Then we were approached at the counter by the sweetest girl! She walked us through the flavors of the shaved ice, took our order down for us and we proceeded to wait for that and our mobile order. They have Pibb on tap! We were so excited cause that's one of our favorite sodas! But turns out it was watered down and no flavor, ding dang! Chicago dog was just "ok". The relish was good, the peppers were awesome! But the diced tomatoes weren't so good. The bun wound up being soggy, the hot dog was "good", it tasted like a hot dog you would BBQ out back at home, but nothing to "wow! Me." Corn Dog was a missed opportunity! More soft then having a nice bite like at the fair, the look was more appetizing then the actual taste of it. Wife couldn't finish it, so left over pizza it was for her instead. Funnel Fries; pass on! For the price, you don't get enough and they don't really have any flavor, and that's with the strawberry dipping sauce and whipped cream. Shaved ice, not worth 6 bucks! It's small, tastes "ok" but definitely not worth the hassle. Pastrami Sandwich isn't really a sandwich, it's pastrami put inside of a hot dog bun with mustard and a slice of pickle on top. Good pastrami; not worth the price! Fries: "pass." Try another side. Overall: The look of the inside and patio are very nice! It's nice and cool inside, especially on a hot day! You can get a cold beer as well with your dog so that's pretty great! But.. If you're looking for a GREAT hot dog, this probably isn't the spot. If you're looking for a "good" hot dog, and a change of scenery, then this might be the spot for you. You're better off eating there, opposed to ordering it "to-go." By the time you get home your bun will be soggy and your fries will be cold. I rather spend the $30 not including tax and tip somewhere else that will leave my belly full and my hunger satisfied. I feel like It was a nice try, but it wasn't satisfying and we both feel let down for our first try here. Perhaps one day will try to come back and eat there, but for right now. I should have just gotten the regular sized drink and not the large one; the drink selection is limited and their iced tea is from the fountain. I don't know any iced tea drinkers who have a single good thing to say about soda fountain iced tea. That is the my only negative comment about JoJo's; brew tea yourself for your iced tea!
