This review is solely for the Root Beer Float I just had to have and it did NOT disappoint! I ordered with a staff member. However, there are kiosks you can order off of or you can order via the app, or even tableside via a QR Code. He was helpful and answered my question. I asked if the Root Beer came with free refills since it was a float and the dispenser is behind the counter. He told me the Root Beer has free refills and if I wanted more Ice Cream, there would be an additional charge. I think it is the same price as buying a cone for $0.99. I can't remember, but I remember thinking I would've just bought the cone and put the ice cream in my mug & eaten the cone. I requested the Frosty Mug. I actually thought I ordered the keepsake mug, but the total for my float was less than the cost of the mug, so I knew I wasn't keeping the mug. I truly enjoyed my Root Beer Float especially after walking up and down Main Street in Downtown Visalia for a few hours in the heat. It was smooth and delicious! I couldn't resist getting the refill on the Root Beer! I made sure to save a little ice cream from the first fill. I'm glad I stopped in for the Root Beer Float! I decided to try A&W for the first time two nights ago and was blown away by the quality of this restaurant and its employees. Hands down the best fast-food burgers I've had since visiting Visalia. The staff is generally very nice too. The parking lot can become a zoo randomly when they decide to put on a car show here, and unfortunately I've had some people yell at me while riding through (the lot does not get fully blocked off). You know the types with certain affiliations and dragging one or two kids at distance behind them while distracted by a pimped-out lowriders. Not the business's fault of course, but I'd avoid it on those days. They run some regional promos for day-of-the-week specials, nothing to get excited about, just some basic meals priced at $5. I did have one time I made a mistake and thought I was getting the Double Spicy Papa Burger for $5, and the special was actually for the non-spicy version. I went in to ask about it, a manager saw me waiting with my food and was super polite and quickly explained my confusion. They may have even offered to add jalepanos (the normal Papa burger has pickles) which I declined because it was my own mistake. Kudos to the management on duty that day, it was an older female and I didn't even ask for a manager. If I owned a location that's exactly the kind of personality I'd want in that role. That said, inflation is hitting so I'm pretty sure those daily specials are now $6. I'd probably go more often if they had better specials. They're clearly running local ads like crazy on streaming platforms (e.g. YouTube), but not really compelling enough to entice me. $20 for a fast-food meal stings in this market where the demo is largely very low-income and high unemployment. People's budgets are already really stretched. read more

I was excited to see this restaurant as I haven't seen one in years. So I immediately swooped into the drive thru. The lot appeared very clean and I ordered the Tues special which was a double bacon cheeseburger (very bland tasting) could have used more miracle whip and a root beer float. The ice cream in the root beer float was delicious but the root beer part was flat. I also ordered a medium root beer since it said they were made fresh on the premises. I was very underwhelmed because A&W in the can tastes a million times better. Something was def missing. All in all the service was quick and the place was clean from what I could see from my car. I'm so glad that I looked on their website before stopping by because the website advertises a Beyond Burger but their drive thru menu does not. I asked if they have the Beyond Burger, and sure enough they do. I made it a meal and opted for onion rings instead of fries, and omg they were the best onion rings I've ever had. No kidding.
