Honestly don't have much to say about this place. It's a cute small place right on the corner, lots of parking. Anyways we were greeted right away which was nice. Anyways we decided to order 2 chili dogs with everything. The meat was small and no flavor, the chili beans I believe had no beans. I think Costco has a better dog than this place. Local favorite. I suggest you get two hotdogs with everything. Idk how they make their Chili, but it tastes the same and it took me back to 1979. I remember coming here when it was on the other side of the street. I remember I could get a hotdog for .35cents, a soda for a .25. As a kid, a dollar went a long way. Go to the library, check out a movie, go to the pet store on Main & visit the Macaws. Yep, one bite took me back to rainbow T-shirts & black flip-flops with a rainbow strap. I came at 5pm. A little line, but the staff moves quick. It was a hot day, but there's vents for customers waiting in line underneath the awning to keep you cool. My mil and my husband told me about Taylor's. We were visiting our Aunty Eva on my husband's side at Westgate and wanted to eat something we don't have in Fresno. My husband made the decision to come to Taylor's Hotdogs. In the 1952, a couple started a hotdog stand offering a simple hotdog with their homemade chili with mustard onion and relish for .15 a hot dog. The restaurant was then inherited by their son, a police officer from Reedley. 71 years later, it is now $2.50. I saw complaints about the price, but a chili dog for $2.50 in 2023 is not bad. Service- Our cashier was nice. You do have to pay for a cup for water, you either have to pay $1 something for a medium cup or .50 for the coffee sized cup. I had my dog bowl and asked for water, but was told I had to pay for a water cup. Then, later was told I could have asked to fill the dog bowl. Maybe the cashier didn't notice the dog bowl. Hotdogs- Small, not Costco size. My mother in law and I got 2 and my husband got 4. What sucks is no ketchup. I prefer ketchup over mustard. The buns were soft. The hotdog was small. The chili was good. It reminds me of when Kevin Malone said about his chili on The Office, the secret is to undercook the onions. I got a plain hotdog and shared half each for my dogs. My husband has been raving about Taylor's for the 12 years we have been together. I personally thought it was just a run of the mill chili dog. Cheese or jalapeños would have been great on it. Seating- No tables at all, just some benches. We ate outside on the benches. If I recall from history, they used to have a company in Oregon make their chili. The chili that was on my hotdog yesterday was not the same, and it was not good at all. This is a old-school hotdog stand that opened in the 1950s and it has been in the same place ever sense. It's not fancy, it's simple and basic but it's a nice treat to have every now and then. It makes you feel a little bit nostalgic and brings back that good old americana feeling. The only food item on the menu is hot dog and you can choose if you want it with everything (mustard, relish, onions and chili) or pick and choose the toppings.
