I didn't have any knowledge of this place or even looked at the reviews before I popped in for a quick walkin for a wax on a Friday afternoon. There were two customers in there, one getting a pedicure and one getting a manicure. There was a third staff person there that took me to the back right away and expertly whizzed through my waxing job with skill. She was really nice and did a great job in my problem spots. I was impressed that she spent extra time getting a couple of strays with tweezers which is not some thing that most places do. The whole place was really clean and when I was done and looked at reviews I was impressed at all the glowing reviews. I also felt that the prices were very reasonable and I liked that they do walkins. If I was in the area again and needed to get something done I would not hesitate to come back here! read more

I have never been so upset with a nail salon in my life! Yes they are nice, at first, but when the process gets started its an issue. I asked for something specific, its a problem. I worked in a nail salon for 4 years. I know the deal. I needed something done and found a last min place. If it hadn't been for my husband who had came in to calm me down, i would of just stormed off and not even paid, im not all that of an asshole, but when I asked for something and I'm paying for something i expect that and nothing less. My service, HORRIBLE!!! my fingers are in pain, cut up to hell and i feel like i have a tiny heart beat on each single finger. I asked for a full set with gel, now she said we dont do dip powder, i didnt ask for that. The type of design per say is not that complicated, and ombre look i will attach pictures. Nothing from what i can say an experience nail tech can do, not judging anyones abilities. And I let her know ahead of time exactly what i wanted pictures explanation and all. Got something totally different. Not only did she destroy my 'fake nail' but my nail bed, fingers, everything, and when I would wince or say ouch or try to explain to her millions and millions of times, i get insulted in Vietnamese because who would think this 'mập' would understand right??? Well i did. Everything. And the only reason i payed because i know she will get her commission for that service and that is all she deserved. read more

Not a fan of this salon and cannot recommend it. I asked small file, keeping similar length of square round. My nails became way too short because the manicurist kept filing diagonally to the point where her co-worker had to step in. I've been getting my nails done about every 3-4 weeks for about 15 years and this is the first time I've ever been so disappointed in a nail salon that I am writing a negative review. I expressed my dissatisfaction and still paid $15.00. I attached photos of what my nails looked like before and after the file. Look at the middle finger. I understand nails grow back however the disappointment of this makes me feel the need to warn others of this salon. read more

Never been here but tried it soley out of pure convenience of my work. Making the appointment was easy and the ladies were nice. I didn't mind the look of the exterior or unupdated decor. I had gotten a regular pedi and gel mani on a wednesday. And was done in a little less than an hour. For the first time my nails werent buffed out for gel application which i found odd. Complaints: cuticles were never pushed and cleaned on both toes and nails. Nail polish on my fingers were not neatly applied so after a day or so the color started lifting from the edges of my nails. Following Tuesday all my finger nail polish started lifting up and peeling pretty easily. My toes are still good but again, the cuticles werent cleaned, pushed or trimmed. Thebcolor i picked out was light pinkish gray. My finger nails looked so uneven and polish was not neatly applied on. I will never return to this place again. What a waste of $60 plus tip. read more

DO NOT COME TO THIS NAIL SALON! I called ahead for pricing. Acrylic fill was 25$. Then the owner, the only male was extremely rude and disrespectful! He did my nails. HE HURT ME, clipping my skin with the machine more than a few times, and even complaining about my shrieks of pain, saying it will scare his customers. The location is convenient, you can walk-in or make an appointment. All the ladies are hard working and polite. The salon is no-frills yet very clean. Prices are very reasonable. Although I would have any of the ladies do my nails, I prefer Moon. Not only is she lovely but she pays extra attention to detail. I never feel rushed when the salon is busy. Weekends tend to be busier but I find first thing in the morning is a nice time to go. Just remember that tips for the ladies are cash only. And please do tip, they deserve it! read more

Pretty damn awesome gel manicure in this Del Ray nail salon! Went in for leg wax and manicure, and was in and out with no muss, no fuss. I wish I'd remembered to write down the name of the salon tech who did my wax/manicure because she was amazing! The wax was fast, nearly painless, and she made sure to tweeze out any stray hairs that the waxing had missed. The gel manicure is a revelation: Usually, by the 3rd day after I get a regular manicure, my nails are chipped (I treat my fingernails very roughly). But with the gel manicure, I've used my fingernails to pry things open and they still look like they're brand new. My tech was fast, incredibly neat, and did I mention fast? The salon itself is pretty nice: AC was weak which was bad as it was very hot and humid when I went in. The pedicure stations looked clean and the chairs looked awesome, the manicure stations were neat and their tools were sterilized. TL;DR: Very good nail salon, clean establishment, sterilized tools AND within walking distance of Dairy Godmother so you can show off your pretty fingers while eating a brownie sundae. read more

I am on a constant search for a salon that suits my needs for a quality spa pedicure and a skilled eyebrow wax. I was excited when I called Jolie Petite on a Sunday afternoon and they were able to fit me in an hour after I called. They were friendly as soon as I walked through the door. Once they set me up in one of the pedicure chairs, it took them almost 20 minutes for the nail tech to get to me. They seem very busy on the weekends! Once Paula got started, I knew I would enjoy my experience. She paid close attention to my feet and toes and worked hard to exfoliate my skin and make sure the polish was without flaws. The techs also seem to be concentrated on their clients unlike some salons that I've tried. This is a 4.5-star nail salon...except I had to dock them because of the bad eyebrow wax that I got here. It was in a hot room in the back. I asked her to just clean them up but please please please don't reshape them. Of course, the result was exactly what I didn't want. I am very picky with my eyebrows and sorry (not sorry) if I sound bratty but she messed up the original shape and may take a while to get it back to what it was like before...this day will forever be remembered as "Brow Day" 07.28.2013 haha. I would definitely visit again but without a brow wax and hopefully less of a wait for the pedi. I would definitely recommend the spa pedicure from Paula. I thought it was ok. The place needs a bit of a face lift. I went in for a pedicure, cost $28 even. Give the girls cash tips, that what the sign said :). The equipment she used was clean and the chair was clean. She paid a lot of attention to detail. It's the basics of what you would be looking for. Everyone I've gone to here has been wonderful at all things pedicure related. My technician on this visit paid attention to the shaping and polishing, and my feet looked amazing. Not what it used to be. This used to be go to nail salons which I would travel out of the way for, however, now that the previous owner Henry is gone it's not the same. This last time, I brought a friend and we both were underwhelmed. The nail tech was lackluster and uninterested causing my pedicure to be mediocre at best. T was her name and she used to be good but now she shows no interest and offered no massage when a basic massage is included on the standard pedicure. Since when are you penalized for not getting a spa pedicure so they give you a shoddy basic one? Henry, I miss you! He was attentive, always gave great massages, and I felt the most comfortable with.
