Even if short-staffed, the rudeness, especially from one employee was unacceptable. It was obvious his shouting and behavior made both guests and staff uncomfortable. When the young lady called our name to pick up the order, we approached within 20 seconds, but the male employee got impatient and YELLED our name SO loudly. Lol he startling everyone waiting at the counter. Based on our experience, their 2.5-star rating is justified. Came on a Sunday evening around 5PM and was worried there would be a crowd, cuz it's near the bean, but it was fairly empty. Came at a good time. To my surprise, It was fairly empty, and the store was very clean, very new. Bathrooms were locked with a code, but was also clean! We ordered ahead 15 mins on the app before arriving but still had to wait 15 mins for our freshly fried order of bucket of chicken but it was worth the wait. Ever since my first interaction with Jollibee I have been waiting for my next chance to have a go at it. Looking back now, I wished I would have waited and tried it somewhere else. I basically got the same thing I did the first time I went when I came here. The spaghetti, to me, is just unique enough to overshadow that it is spaghetti from a fast food place. And the Cheesy Yumburger is still superior in my opinion. And I might go as far as saying that they have the best fries in the fast food industry. However, what left me not wanting to ever come back to this location was the customer service aspect. There is hating your job and then there is hating your job and letting it show. Here, it was definitely that latter. Every employee you looked at you could tell that they just did not want to be there. Each of them had a blank affect and looked as if they were holding in a fart. They were all very monotoned and hard to hear, there was no enthusiasm...or maybe that was the lack of affect and I just couldn't tell. This then also turned into a very slow turnover here. It took me nearly ten minutes to order my food, and there were only two customers in front of me. Then it was nearly fifteen minutes for me to get my food. I honestly could have gone to a sit down restaurant and been done with my meal at that point. I was happily surprised to see that when I did get my food that it was the correct order. Love jolibee but they are horrible with service here. Takes about another 30mins to get your order form the the time they gave you to pick it up. No one attends waiting customers. So sad to see this from them but they gotta pick it up for the city knowing it's going to be flowing in high traffic with customers. read more

I first tried Jollibee on a trip to the Philippines and loved it. So it's so exciting to have a location here in Chicago in the Loop. It's in a great location but can have some lengthy waiting times which is the reason for the removal of one star. But it's great to be able to have a nostalgic meal right here at home. read more

My first time trying Jollibee and I admit, I was surprised. I got the 4 piece chicken tenders with some gravy to begin my evaluation of the food. I first tried a tender without any gravy and I am glad to say that the tender itself was very well made. For the next 3 I used the gravy I was given and the gravy is VERY delicious. It also blended very well with the taste chicken tenders. One take away I got from this is that they both have their own distinct flavors and you could eat them on their own. The service was phenomenal, it was jam packed today and they were serving up orders very quick. Overall this was a great experience, I would come back. However when I received my food, I came to the shocking truth that there was NO napkins in my bag. Eating chicken and gravy without napkins isn't pleasant. But great job overall. read more

We need one in Indiana! The chicken is so so good! The chicken itself is nicely seasoned and juicy which is important when it comes to fried chicken. The rice was good, perfectly cooked, and the gravy is good. I wish there was a spicy version of the gravy! The staff was moving quick and even though it was busy they were nice! Yum aloha burger is yummy. The beef is a little well done but the pineapple takes it up a different level altogether. It's a little pricey for for $10 but worth it. I like the coconut pineapple pie. It's mostly coconut, but it's just a different take on pie. I said this before, the problem with this location is they alter the taste for western palates. The palabok needs more fish sauce. I like both but wasn't overly impressed. To do the chicken & spaghetti I needed to order the "family pack" servings as they didn't have individual small sizes available. Maybe next time... maybe not. Mainly for the Palabok Noodles to be honest. Chicken was good, however, the restaurant itself in Chicago was a hot mess. That is what deterred me from doing the spaghetti... I got the standard chicken sandwich meal with fries and a drink. ASI added chicken tenders. In short, it satisfied my hunger cravings for the moment but didn't leave a lasting impression. Granted that it was the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day, I experienced the longest wait I've ever had for fast food. We entered the restaurant at like 12:20 PM. Went here this past weekend. My first time. My friend and I ordered two spicy chicken sandwiches fries drinks and pies. I had preordered and thank goodness because the place was packed. We were told when it was supposed to be ready it would be 15 minutes. The place was crowded so we walked around for 20 minutes before coming back in hopes our food would be ready. We were told they were STILL waiting on 2 spicy chicken sandwiches and it would be another 15 minutes. As we waited, we saw order after order going out wrong and people coming to get their order corrected. Every time this happened, the entire team would stop and take from other orders or work on correcting that order instead of what they were working on. There was 5 employees I saw for a packed restaurant. One person on cooking everything, one person ladeling gravy into containers, one person working the register and two managers (?) running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The third time we were told it would be another 15 minutes before we could get both our sandwiches as there was only one available. I stated I just wanted a refund. The man behind the counter said it didn't matter if I wanted a refund, because it would take just as long for someone to refund my order. So my choices came down to wait an hour for a a sandwich or my refund. The guy told me I could contact their customer service for the refund "if I was in that big of a hurry but don't blame them because I can see they are busy". This place is severely understaffed and cannot keep up with the demands of their space. On top of that, your order will be missing items and take forever to get. When I reached out to customer service I was asked for details and in depth information about my experience only for them to tell me after two days of back and forth that they "value my input but I need to reach out to the store for my refund". There was so much hype about Jolibee's coming to Michigan, so I thought we'd try it out while visiting relatives in Chicago. It turns out that it's overrated. Service was super slow. We placed an order through the Jolibee's app, and I don't think the employees pay attention to that queue. Everyone in the long line that formed after us received their food, and when the line emptied out, we still didn't have our food. We had to show an employee what we ordered, and the food slip was still waiting to be filled. Argh! The Filipino spaghetti was different. Worth a taste, but I wouldn't order it again. The fried chicken was very good. The adobo rice has a genuine adobo taste, but it was cold. The mashed potatoes were meh. The pies (peach mango and langka) were not worth $2.99 each. They looked like they had been sitting a while, though the pie crust was very good Overall, the food was overpriced imho. We will not be back. One last thing, there were more items available in the app than what was displayed on the menu board, which was strange. I simply cannot believe they opened up a Jollibee in the city. This was one of the most exciting news I had received. Jollibee is great, plain and simple. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 8/10 Pretty standard setup for the Jollibee restaurants that I have seen. Giant Jollibee mascot statue out front though which is nice for pictures! SERVICE: 7/10 Service was as expected for me. FOOD: 9/10 Shrimp Palabok - 10/10 - Thin vermicelli noodles with shrimp in a pork sauce that is the BEST thing here in my opinion. This is the one dish that I crave when I think of Jollibee. Chickenjoy - 7/10 - Everybody loves their fried chicken, but to me it's just average. This is not why I would come here. Filipino Spaghetti - 9/10 - Love Filipino spaghetti. It's sauce is sweet so if you aren't expecting that it may put you off, but I do like it. Pineapple Juice - 10/10 - I don't know how or why, but their pineapple juice is simply the best I have ever had. Maybe it's loaded with sugar, it probably is, but it is very very good. Halo-Halo - 9/10 - Filipino frozen ice dessert that is not overly sweet but very good, especially on a hot day. VALUE: 7/10 Kind of expensive for fast food, but it is good. I stopped for a quick dinner...I wanted a chicken sandwich but was informed they were out, then I asked for a burger, and they were out... I then asked what they DO have, and all they had was mild chicken. I went with a 2 piece meal with a side of mashed potatoes and a peach mango pie. The potatoes were dry and hard (old under a heat lamp), the gravy had a nice flavor though. The chicken had a nice crispy, thin breading and had a good crunch and juicy interior. However, it tasted "off" and unappetizing. I only ate two bites. The beverage I ordered was weak in flavor, as if the mixture was set low. The only redeeming part of the visit was the pie... They had none of the food I had ordered an hour ago at that point even available to order. All sold out, I asked if I could have any other chicken that was available and they said no, only a burger, which my daughter won't eat. So I flipped out and left. While in the city heading to the Art Institute stopped for lunch as a new experience. We had the deluxe spicy sandwich, spicy sandwich, original sandwich and the chicken strips. All the food was fresh and tasty. The "spicy" difference is sliced jalapeños. After a wait that was shorter than advised by the order taker we found a seat and enjoyed a great experience. We tried the banana-Langka pie with mixed reviews. I liked it very much with various other opinions. It's not sweet but rather neutral so those thinking "pie" is sweet had a letdown. Jollibees are pretty good. If you never knew, this is a popular Filipino joint that always deeply rooted to the community. It's sorta reminds them of being back in the motherland. I came across this chain as I was enjoying my walk down Michigan Ave. to the Bean Bean so I can get my IG on. So on my way back to the hotel I decided to stop in and grab a 10 piece spicy bucket. Brung it home to Detroit so me and the hubby can smash away at some delicious chicken. The place was pretty nice. I got there before rush hour, so there was not a lot of people in line. Jollibee has recently landed in Downtown Chicago - how about that? This Jollibee is located on Michigan Avenue, basically across the street from the Art Institute. I stopped by for lunch on a weekday, and since I was coming in before noon there was not a huge crowd here. I decided to dine in, so I was politely asked to show my vaccination card and photo ID while placing my order. I chose one of the combo meals with one piece of "Chickenjoy" (the drumstick - yay!) and Jolly spaghetti. This combo actually includes a beverage, but somehow the person at the register allowed me to downsize and opt out of the beverage, saving me a bit of dough. I then immediately added on a peach mango pie for dessert. The food tray was presented to me only minutes after ordering. This was a solid lunch for me. I ordered the chicken as spicy, but it is not crazy spicy so the drumstick was tasty and crispy. The spaghetti is Filipino-style so it features a sweet tomato-based pasta sauce and also some hot dog slices too. The fried pie was yummy, with a noticeable crunch when you bite into it. After months and months walking by the opening soon, Jollibee on Michigan ave is finally open!!! I ordered delivery, so I can't speak to the physical restaurant itself, but the food was pretty good! The fried chicken was super tasty, crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside. We got half spicy half regular and I really appreciated how they labeled the spicy ones w a little flag. There is definitely a kick to the spicy one, but it's not unbearably spicy! I've heard that the spaghetti can be divisive, but I actually really liked it and so did my friends. It's definitely sweeter than regular spaghetti since I think it uses banana ketchup. I really enjoyed it though! The mashed potatoes were ok and the fries were kind of soggy, but I enjoyed the adobo rice the most for the sides! The peach mango pie was decent - didn't like the crust texture that much but it was a nice new flavor you can't really get elsewhere. Definitely recommend stopping by!!
