Had a great experience both times except the second time the woman who took our order could not understand English at all and had to have her coworker help her take our order. The guy who helped us both times we visited within the week (late evening time) was helpful and suggested menu items and was patient as it was our first time ordering. I was sold on it being antibiotic free without hormones, since I was reluctant to eating any fast food chicken out here in these hormone pumped chicken streets. (Yes I'm spoiled from eating REAL meat outside the country and can easily taste the difference between the real and the fake GMO stuff). The chicken is so juicy, well flavored and cooked to perfection. It takes some time for food to be ready but I'd rather wait for fresh cooked chicken than the one that's been sitting out for quite some time. Because the cashier was so helpful and the chicken was amazingly flavored and juicy I'm giving it 4 stars. Guys, please train your staff on taking orders so that the language barrier doesn't inconvenience your customers and get people irritated. The evening guy saved your service rating!

Onion ring

From a first glance, the place didn't look or feel the cleanest due to the sticky residue and trash lying on the floor. In addition to the filth contaminating the restaurant, we ordered the 2 kinds of sandwich, and I believe we also ordered 2 sets of chicken tenders. The chicken they gave us was surprisingly big but the seasoning seemed cheap. It was evident that only half or a fraction of the chicken was actually seasoned, seen from the color disorientation caused by the seasoning. Overall the meal was satisfactory but in all honesty the chicken tasted a bit rubbery. One thing I didn't mention is that I also ordered the onion rings which is just an onion opened up like a flower covered in batter which gets deep fried, only problem that it was only half cooked so towards the bottom half of the onion ring it was still all mushy soggy from the batter.

Crimson Coward Such juicy tenders, fried fresh to order. This shop is open until 12 AM every day

Enjoying fresh, hormone-free halal food, fried to order, while watching the bustling streets of Michigan is a wonderful experience, complete with varying degrees of spiciness to stimulate the taste buds.

My friends and I had such a wonderful girls night at Chef Art Smith's Reunion! We went on a Sunday…read morearound 8:00 PM, and it was the perfect time to visit. The restaurant had a great atmosphere. It was busy enough to feel lively but not so crowded that we felt rushed or overwhelmed. From the moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Our server, Bronagh, truly made the experience even better. She was so kind, attentive, and personable throughout the entire evening. She checked on us often, made great recommendations, and always had a smile on her face. She provided some of the best service we've had in a long time. We started with the Pink Pony Club and the Moonlit Cocktail Flight, and both were fantastic. The cocktails were creative, refreshing, and beautifully presented. For dinner, we ordered the Brussels and kale salad, mashed potatoes, chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, buffalo wings, and the Centennial Sampler to share. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The mac and cheese was rich and creamy, the buffalo wings had the perfect amount of spice, the chicken sandwich was crispy and delicious, and the Centennial Sampler was a great way to try several of the restaurant's specialties. Even the mashed potatoes and salad stood out because they were so well prepared. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere all exceeded our expectations. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly, which made the entire evening feel even more special. I would absolutely recommend Chef Art Smith's Reunion for a girls night, family dinner, or any special occasion. We can't wait to come back. Five stars all around!

I was solo, but made a reservation to sit at the bar just in case. I showed up 10 minutes early and was just told to "sit wherever" in a pretty empty place. I found a seat at the bar and was ignored for about 10 minutes by the Irish Bartenders that were too busy chatting with each other than helping guests. It was a little surprising to see so many bartenders from Ireland with super heavy brogues at a Chicago tourism restaurant styled to the American South. When one of them gave me a menu, I knew pretty much what I wanted from the beginning. He seemed uncomfortable with the menu and didn't know it. I am also very surprised that biscuits don't come with the chicken like they do at Homecommin in Disney Springs. I ordered the fried chicken plate which came in less than 5 minutes. That seems....fast. Too fast. Anyway, the chicken was good enough, but I had to flag a bartender down once again for utensils to eat the mashed potatoes. The biscuits came out and were good, but it took longer to make the biscuits than the fried chicken and mashed potatoes? I ended with a Disney Springs favorite, the Hummingbird cake. It is $3 more expensive at Reunion and half the size. Not a great way to end the meal. I was excited to come to this place because its called Reunion because after Art Smith opened Homecommin in Florida, he decided to come back to Chicago due to the politics (and I don't think his kids liked the move). I was expecting this to be better than Homecommin and it was much worse. The bar is pretty low at Navy Pier so I guess its probably the best food, but its still very disappointing.

We saunter up to our chosen restaurant only to find a sign on the door that says, "closed for private event." Did I mention I was hangry? My husband suggests Jake Melnick's. It was within walking distance ... did I mention it was raining that night? And I was hangry? I was game for anything at that point. We arrived and waited probably four minutes for a table. A couple of the adults ordered a beer, the others ordered a Coke. We ordered a large pretzel and our mains. The pretzel was so good. All the meals were outstanding (a sliced brisket sandwich, some wings, chicken tenders, onion rings and a burger). Service was great. It was a little loud when we first arrived as there was an intense Illinois State basketball game on but as soon as the game ended, it was much quieter. We really enjoyed our meal at Jake's!

Our server, Miguel, was phenomenal. She was attentive, fast, and gave us some spot-on recommendations. Per her advice, we ordered the deviled eggs with jalapeño, hands down the highlight of the table. The deviled eggs with paired with that subtle jalapeño kick was absolutely perfect. For the mains, the chicken and waffles were good, carrying that solid comfort food flavor you expect. The waffles were a bit soft for my taste. To drink, the sidecar was mixed perfectly, well-balanced, crisp, and hit the exact right note. Giving it 4 stars only because while the mains were good, the starters and the outstanding service from Miguel were what truly stole the show. I'll definitely be back to hang out at the bar again nest time I am in town!

We were greeted by the host in which I believe to be the manager. He was pleasant and welcome. The restaurant itself is aesthetically appealing and it gives an upscale vibe. We sat and didn't have to wait too long for the waitress. She was nice and assisted up accordingly! I ordered the bottle of champagne for mimosas with pineapple and orange juice and was pleasantly surprised by the $35 price since we're used to paying twice that back home. The food came out pretty quick and was hot and ready to eat. All of our food was good well and we all enjoyed our dishes. My only takeaway would be if guests ordered bottled water and/or champagne, the waitress should poor them into the glasses for you. From my experience, this is something that I thought was a norm. Overall, great place to eat!
