My hairstylist showed me everything I needed to see how her client can be treated in the end and for something fairly minor. I just had a fantastic first time experience at Jon David Salon! My hair has been a COVID wreck - no shape, box dye. Carmen worked her magic after we discussed how I care for my hair, looked at options I was considering/liked. She gave honest opinions and suggestions. She completed the first step to getting my hair healthy again- beautiful colour, shape and some shades of plum :) it feels and looks better than it has in years. This is my first Yelp review. I recently moved to the area from out of state and got my hair highlighted and cut yesterday at this salon after reading the Yelp reviews. I'm writing this simply so no one has the experience that I did! I made an appointment and showed up and met my stylist, who was really nice. I was the only person at the salon for most of the appointment. After over 3 hours (!!!), my hair was finally ready. It literally took over 3 hours, and there was no one there. Once I was done, I went to check out and they charged me over $200! I paid less than that at a popular salon in DC where I had a fabulous cut and color every time. Needless to say, this all is fine with me as long as the cut looks great. Here comes the part that compelled me to write this review. I got home and my hair felt so greasy that I had to shower. The best part about getting your hair cut is the awesome blowout afterwards! Not so much. After blowdrying my own hair, this is what the front of my hair looks like!!!!!! It's almost funny if it weren't my own hair! Now I have to go to another salon (not a chance I am going back here for a fix) and shell out more $$$ to get my hair cut. I called Jon David Salon to ask for a same day appt to remedy a rough blonde highlight / poor haircut I had received at an Aveda Salon two weeks ago. They fit me in 3 hours after I called on a Thursday evening, scheduling me with Jon David himself - and were very understanding of the situation. I bought the Yelp deal ($50 for $75 worth of services) & headed over. I sat for 2 minutes in the swanky salon, was offered a drink and then met Jon David. I started the consultation by showing Jon David what I had asked for (a photo of a punky redhead with punches of blonde in her bangs and underneath) and took my hair out of the braid I had it in (to hide the cut) to show him how she had turned me into a frosted barbie with a poor chopped haircut. He comforted me, told me we'd clean that mess up & mentioned this wasn't the first Aveda salon clean up he'd had to do. He told me I should definitely complain to them and assured me we'd get taken care of. The poor haircut at Aveda took 4 hours. Jon David started his consultation w/ me at 6PM and by 7PM he had shampooed me, engaged me in entertaining conversation, reinstilled my confidence in hair stylists and given me a hair & blowdry that healed any emotional trauma the previous haircut had caused. He also recommended some shampoo for me & I'm hoping to go back when my hair grows out and the highlights have faded so that I can get what I really wanted in the first place. read more

Take two: Ok, so I appreciate the offer of a discount cut but not necessary. I gave this place a go on its own merits, I made an appointment (lesson learned) and wasn't disappointed. Could not be happier with the finished product. Give it a go! Initial review: I live in the area so I have been meaning to give this place a try. A neighbor tried it and said they are pretty good. I was told upon entering they decided to close early on a Saturday afternoon. When the front desk person asked the hairdresser (female assuming not the owner) to squeeze me in, the hairdresser looked at me and said no. Tucked away in the Las Colinas area around Lake Carolyn and is this gem. It needs more recognition about the dedication to quality and service. They offer friendly service and reasonable prices. The quality of staff and product are not lowered either. This is a great salon! They cut for men and women, as well as several other styling needs for the certain occasion. Just have a vision in mind or mention a style for the look and they will help you out. I got a trim with several areas razor cut and textured. Most of this was recommend by the stylist and I have never felt this good about a salon visit. Great salon with awesome service and reasonable prices. read more

I was visiting Texas for the week and needing a trim... like, ASAP. I called day of and they asked if I could be in within 10 minutes. This was perfect as my friend lived right around the corner. I'm terrible with names, but my hairstylist was incredibly accommodating. I was in recovery following a surgery and she made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire experience. Went for my first cut & color today and my experience was top notch! The salon itself is adorable and clean. I can't say enough about the staff. Every single person was fun and courteous while doing all the "little things" to make my experience great. Not only was my experience great, but my hair looks great now too!! My stylist knew exactly how to cut my hair even though I was vague on what I asked for. I asked for a rose gold ombre, and I got seriously some of the BEST color I've ever had. I can't say enough great things about this salon! I sent a booking request through Google and got a response in 5 minutes (maybe less). They were able to get me in today with Celest for a haircut. When I arrived, I was immediately impressed by the salon -- warm greeting, intimate surroundings and gorgeous natural light from all the windows complemented by warm overhead lighting. The latter was a pleasant surprise because I have always hated going to salons where the garish, overhead fluorescent lights make me look like something from a Zombie movie. Celest was very attentive and really listened to me as I described what I was looking for. Although I had only planned for a cut, I felt so comfortable that I asked her if she had time to color my roots, which she did. The end result was a great cut, very thorough root color, brow color (my brows rock!), blow out, and as a bonus -- some mermaid curls with a styling wand. I went from "just a cut" to "just fab" in a one unexpectedly awesome salon experience. I will definitely be back and have already recommended Celeste and the salon to my mom! read more

So I never do reviews. But was such a great experience it was hard not to. I got my hair done by Lando and he was exquisite. He took 15 to 20 minutes just getting into good idea of what I actually wanted to do with my hair. I had gone to previous hairdressers and ended up with nothing like what I wanted. which was very disappointing. He however got it perfectly! Took a chance after reading all the reviews. So glad I did! The salon was clean & everyone was friendly. I have super thick, curly, long hair. It was damaged, dry, out of control. I left with soft, shiny, bouncy hair, full of body (like a Pantene commercial). Only about 10mins from downtown & worth the drive no matter where you live. Great prices as well. Not happy with the haircut at all. I've asked just to trim the ends, but I got 3 inches cut off. it is 6 months of growing hair - big deal for someone who wants to have hair long.
